Do you use the GTP tag infront of your name

I voted no because my brother and I share our PS3 and when we made the tag we picked something that we could agree on, baseball. When GT5 comes out, yes I know it will be a long time, I will make my own profile that will be the same as my GTP name, and I already played through GT5P on the baseball269 name and I don't feel like restarting and buying all of my cars again. So, for now I will be baseball269.

Again...

You don't have to do it all over again, you just copy your saved game to your other account and you're done.

Huh? I do hope that you know that you can copy your game save to another account on the PS3?
 
I've been reading all the posts (150+) and I still have the same conviction. It is good to have a tag that represents the good parts of racing and a will to race clean and fair. In rFactor I belong to such a group of people. We (as in GRC) have similar rules of conduct and it adds a lot to the racing experience. As one of the slower drivers around, I have the confident to let faster people pass me. Among other things that I have learned is that driver that respect each other on the track will make the race a better one.

Not me, I want to be able to participate in GTP events, I am just waiting for private rooms (as are the rest of us) I wish there were more GTP_ players online, but right now the online line-up sucks! That is why you don't see many out there.

P.S. If you have not read the AUP (Acceptible Use Policy) then you might want to, one of the rules is to not use "txt" language like Grtz for "Greetings". Just thought I would warn you before a mod does, they aren't always nice about it. 👍

I never honestly knew that you could do that, apparently I have have been living under a rock in the large world of Playstation. I really feel like an idiot now. I'm going to find a nice corner to sit in.

My excuses then, as an grumpy old GTP driver I try to be modern on the net. Think I overlooked that going quickly over the UAP.

But getting ontopic again. I think I wait till after the next update and see if things change for the better. ( hoping that it's then still possible to earn a GTP tag )
Sometimes it's hard online with all the zigzagging, not any clue having about lines, brakepoints , apexes puntfolks. But mostly I can really enjoy it out there ( Suzuka intemediate and Fuji Pro).
And I think I'm not the "cleanest" driver around. Maybe a bit to aggressive for the folks over here. Though I 've never had any PM about people complaining about my driving style. So that's another hurdle for not getting a GTP tag now.

No do not use the GTP tag.

Reason being I got my zdenko user name at the end of 2006 when they had preregistration for usernames, and I honestly could not be bothered to make a new account. Simple as that.

I would hope that GT5P would support a clan like feature such as the one on gundbound where you join the clan and leave your username as is. This sort of feature would be good in all PS3 games, as you could be in different clans/groups for each game you own. I wouldn't want to have a username for Killzone, another for Motorstorm, GT5 etc, etc. So really I'm waiting for Sony to do something better such as an inbuilt clan feature for each game.
That would be something I would be willing to do, but I don't want to make my username really long with the current method.

No, you're not an idiot. :) My wording might have been a bit harsh. Sometimes it shows that I'm not from a english speaking country. My apologies.

You see the odd tag or two at Fuji but it seems most GTP members like the events I hate. I hope this isn't the same when the private lobbys arrive :nervous:

We don't have exactly a lot to choose from, besides out of a list of 400+ I think you'll find someone to race in events you like :sly:.

EDIT: I'm currently waiting for Sphinx to make my GTP account official :).
 
Woo, I now have a GTP_ account. If you ever see me using the old one it's either one of my friends driving or I'm getting a bit of practice and choosing not to represent GTP!

Nope. I don't race online and if I do, I rarely use my GTP tag. I don't want to embarrass GTplanet by using my GTP tag and ruin races. :O

You know you and your brother can make different accounts right??? So that each of you have your own screen name and such... Then you dont need to share that one nickname :) 👍 Might be handy for you to do... :)

Problem is I get nervous on if Ill crash at people and theyd be like that GTP is dirty and so and so

Ive just got attacked by another racer at HSR lol (strange that I didnt do anything but he spun failing his attack hehe)

I know what you mean, first race with "The" GTP tag, im drafting first place, when he brake checks me, i swerve and pass, he must be that eager to catch me to bump me, he out brakes himself at turn one at Suzuka..."Cheats never prosper"
