Are you using the GTP tag? Do you have GTP_ infront of your name, if so, good! if not, why not?! lets support the gran turismo planet community, also its an easy way to notify real racers. Whenever i see a GTP tag i even drive more carefully to make sure i wont make contact with him.

I dont see many GTP tags online :nervous:

I don't use the tag because I guess I don't really need to? I just use my normal username on all my games, it makes my life simple. All my online games have the same name of ACE_N_RANDIE. My only exception is MGO where I am JshChristianson, which I thought was very clever myself?

there's been reports that using the tag can get you punted more. That said, I do use the tag and have gotten some messages about it. I think the most recent was when the P3 car, hit me, and pushed me into the P1 car, after the race I messaged the P1 car explaining what happened and he said, "Don't worry about it, I know how gtp rolls."

Yes, but you shouldnt treat a GTP tag any differently to any other driver. You should be just as careful with other drivers. Thats the point of driving with the tag, even when there are no other drivers wearing it at the time.

You saw me online! :)

Really? I dont experience anything different really, I get punted just as much with the tag as I do without. In the end, Id rather try and advertise the fact Im promoting clean racing and take some extra hits than just become another of the anonymous crowd.

If you don't care to participate in any official GTP competitions, either within GTP against just ourselves or against other groups, then no you don't.

But when we have officially organized events, where you are actually representing GTP as a group and not just yourself, you can't participate unless you are officially on the registry, which requires a GTP_ tag.

That wasnt a reason for me to put it in front of my name, thats actually more a bonus. I just want to let other 'real drivers' know that I wont punt you off the circuit, and when I see a GTP tag I get excited cause Im like: ah I can race him, dont have to fear getting bumped off the track. Is it just the organised races/time trials for you or is it also more?

Its just nice to know when a GTP tag is driving in front of you, then you dont have to worry you get punted off the track by purpose (accidents do happen ofcourse)

I like it cause I'm representing the forum I use, not to mention representing the most Elite driving force online.

Well, there is more to it than that. It is an identifier that you will race cleanly and that you respect others.

But I wouldn't have gone to the effort of creating a new PSN account if it weren't for the official events. If it would have allowed for us to have a different ID in-game then I would have put a GTP_ tag on there from the beginning.

Well you just said in one sentence why Im using it actually, and thats the idea I get when I see other GTP tag drivers in a race :dopey:

Is the GTP_ tag like the opposite of a yellow Star of David?

Voted no, because I represent several forums so I won't use any of their tags until there are official events.

Nope sorry :P

I only use it when im officially gripping.

Since Im usually drifting everywhere hence Im_gonna_DRIFT tells you why Im like last or something.

So you have to create a new account. Then you have your list of 50 or so friends on your other account. I'd like to run the GTP tag, but What about my friends on my current list.

Well, I get a double whammy. I race as GTP_Torontoblue, so not only does the GTP get me punted around the track but 99% of all Canadians I race punt me off as everyone outside of Toronto hates Torontonians :ouch: Guess I should have chosen a better tag!! And I'm not even a Torontonian, I'm from Merseyside!!

some people do not find that a funny post...

spyrrari.

I know you don't.:sly:

But I'm not trying to be funny, I'm trying to make you think. Why do you guys feel the need to distinguish yourself from the rest? A driver should be judged on his driving, not on his country, vehicle or name. Everybody should get the same opportunities. And I feel the GTP-tag encourages prejudice be it positive or negative.

Some of these comments prove my point.

I saw you last night at Fuji, I'm racing the Evo X, I like to do some drifting as well, but its quite hard to join up with other Drifters.
As for the GTP Tag, its not that I dont want to represent GTP, but I'm trying to represent for Australia and myself...and I dont really like the idea of being just another number so to speak. Plus I hope to have AU Racers regarded as clean racers around the world, I have never been punted off by an Aussie Racer. So it would be nice for people to recognise this when there racing online, you know what I mean? But dont get me wrong, GTP_ Tag is great to have if you don't plan on making a Team/ Club of your own when GT5 comes out. Thats what I'm waiting for, I might have 4 or 5 Racers in it. I would prefer to be part of a smaller team.
But as I've stated before, I am more than happy to represent GTP when I get messages from other people about clean racing etc. GT Planet is a great GT community and we are all pretty respectful here which is most important.;)
I think GTP is a really good site, and what really determines the bulk of that is it's members. So cheers guys,👍

This being my first post I should introduce myself and say that I like this forum. Been lurking around so I thought I'd join. I have to agree with Johnhannibal though, in that alot, not all, GTP tagged drivers think that they are an elite bunch. I'm all for clean racing but just because some identify themselves with a tag by no means makes them, or should I say us, elite. bosmuis, you should drive more carefully always, especially since you wear the tag, not just around other GTP's. Our driving should identify us, not a tag.

Yes I do. As a matter of fact, the other night a person pm'd me and asked what was up with all the people with GTP in front of their name.I explained to him,he understood,I directed him to this forum, hopefully he signs up,then we can add another ' good guy '.

I love drifting at fuji, i just got so tired of the whole punting and stuff that now i dont care, i just try to drift every single corner i come to, also if you do it correctly, you can end up in a good position, ive driven all 3 laps practically drifting each corner with the GT-R and still managed to get 1st place on some races. i really love to drift the last 4 corners before the straight and the funny thing is that if im behind, i usually catch up to them in these last corners.

First of all, WELCOME!!👍👍

Second, Some people take this more seriously than others. Some just have the tag just for the hell of it. Some want to think they're elite...well..because they are. Then win race after race, nobody can beat them. Even from other Forums.👍

Nope. I'm "unimental" on various boards and it's my PSN ID, Live, and online PC tag. No need to change that.
