Im very sorry if this is in the wrong section but i was wondering what i can do about my dog eating my power cord for my japanese PStwo any suggestion is greatly appreciated. thank you

get another one is probably the best advice :)

Seriously, I don't know where the hell or how the hell you can get one, so I guess it is just bad luck.

How in all that's holy did your dog eat it anyway? :ouch:

The Japanese PS2 power cord has that flat side whereas I think my US one has two rounded ends... would a US cord fit in a Japanese machine?

I feel your pain. Had to make another ethernet cable to go from my cablemodem to the router thanks to my dog. Guess I shoulda gotten off my butt and let him in rather than ignore him, eh? :)

My dog thinks he's a goat. There's nothing in the backyard he hasn't chewed on, including the tree. Inside he's chewed up a glove, shoe, skirt, two blankets, a table, bathmat, towels, shampoo bottles, and nearly ate the cat ... but they were playing so it's ok.

(:

as long as the into-back-of-PS2-plug end survived, I would just splice it

Should be easily repairable with some electric tape.

The US one has the flat side, not sure about the Japanese cord though.

they have bad tasting stuff to deter dogs from injesting materials - just get some at a pet store and rub it on your cord. vuola! your dog won't eat it anymore.
If that doesnt work - just let him eat through until he hits the wire. that will teach him not to do it again.

Damn right, kill the Dog (joke)

Unless, you REALLY hate the dog...

💡 do dogs have life insurance?

if so, the chances of killing it are very tempting :sly:

chinese people said dog meat is very good
its time for you to try out

btw, PS1 power cord is same as PS2 power cord I think
you may wanna check out some used electronic stores
they may have used PS1 console for sale like 30 bucks
but I don't know if it works for Japanese console

the quick (and animal friendly) answer is that round-round cords fit into round-square plugs, but round-square cords don't fit into round-round plugs. You can buy a power cord like that at any electronics store.

I think you have my old dog Wilbur. He once swallowed a memory card. He also ate an entire chocolate birthday cake and a box of rat poison. The cake made him sick but the rat poison didn't. Damn dog.

If I had a dog and it did that, it would be dead.

As for you, shoeboy, the cable should be easy enough to repair by cutting off the chewed up segment and removing an inch or so of the the plastic insulation on the wires and matching the colors.

If the wire is frayed, twist it, then twist it together with the corresponding color and wrap the wire in a piece of black electricians tape.

Do the same with all the wires and wrap all of the repaired wires with a significant amount of tape, as to make the cable one piece again.

Then swing the newly repaired cable at your dog with a whipping motion, making sure that the metal plug end is the end that is swinging through the air. This is a test to ensure the strength of the repair job.

If the cable comes apart, simply repeat the above steps until it doesn't.

Problem solved.

Don't go to radioshack and buy a cable that just happens to fit it. You will burn your PS2 to a crisp. There is a reason they could make the new PS2 so slim, they took out the power supply in it. In the slim PS2's the power supply is the big ole black wart on your cord, so your best bet it to use a little electrical knowledge and splice some wires together. Unless your dog completely ruins a crucial component of the cable/black box, then you should be fine with some electrical tape, solder and proper wire nuts, it won't look pretty but it will work AND be safe.

I wish I had a Dog like you lot have. Some one said earlier that their dog 'nearly ate the Cat'. I wish my dog would eat my little sister...the *****.

Man! I guess you like ure sister then!

Apart from the fact that she is ruining my life and has ruined numerous relationships and the facts that she smells of poo, she is OK

(Hint:She is about two metres away from me whilst I write)

In reply to what to do about a new Cord thingy, why not search on Ebay.com, they'll probably have summink on there. I mean, they sell anything. Infact, I once bid for GT4 on there which was guranteed in English and guranteed to come out on the 21st of November 2004. That was bull crap though, but luckily some silly twirp out bid me.

PS - If you can't find a Cord thingy on there, then look for a Gun, just to shoot the Dog :sly:

f :censored:ng dog!

she ate the piece that goes into the slim pstwo where the metal plug is. the plug to the wall and the power supply are fine so just splice em together and get a new metal plug and go from there
