As Interior view will not be in all cars, would you like to have a bonnet view?

Would you like to see a proper hood cam, just in front of the windscreen?

It seems like this view is included. Just check the latest video from the latest GT5 build (from Gamescom 2010):

This video is also the most recent one on GTP's News section.

Hi Detroitbb,

That's exactly what I meant by an incorrect hood view. That's a roof cam. If you look at the height as compare to other cars and to the fence, you can see you are way above where the hood should be. With this view, I feel like floating and disconnected.

A hood cam would be the view I use when driving my standard cars if it included. I don't mind bumper view but I find it to be too close to the ground and the roof cam is silly looking on normal cars.

Absolutely! Hood cam lets you see a bit of the car so you are reminded of what you are driving, puts the camera at roughly the right height, and lets you see plenty of the track.

It's all part of why I don't care much about this standard/premium split.

A real, proper, absolutely banal horizontal bonnet view should have been available since GT3. It's extraordinary that PD just didn't think about it yet, huge gripe for me. 👎

i honestly wouldnt care it all cars had a cockpit or not, i can never really drive with that view on prologue, it like the bonnet cam becaus ei can see the front of the car (except on cars like the subaru impreza and lancer evo, where the view is a little odd to say the least) and i get a better feel of the car, but thats just me, i've been driving with the bonnet cam since gt1, lol

There should be like a dozen cams in the options menu, and you pick your favourite 4 to flick between.

Either that, or a method of tweaking the cam (particularly the chase cam) parameters, stiffness, distance from car, angle.

all the time the same threads :D with a " new" little question

bonnet ? :S my english is not very good but i know what it is , its something like front bumper cam no big difference
for me it is not important

2 months guys :D

+1

My greatest preference would be for a "dashboard" view similar to the c0ckpit view but a bit closer and no hands/wheel. This better replicates the VOF

A hood view would be great for the Ferrari 458 Italia. Look back and listen to (and watch) the engine roar!

looks like this is going to be a 200-300 car game for most people, who is going to bother to get over 950 cars? 800 of which wont have interior view.

Once you own all the cars with Interior view why would you buy the others?? it's just a simple question...??

personally, i will probably buy all 'Premium' cars 1st, then buy selected 'standard' cars that i like; Pescarolo's and other Lmp1's for example...

I'll strive to get most cars. Personally, I think the cockpit camera is something like the chase cam - fun for showing people the game who come over to visit. Both views offer eye-candy for casual 'fans'. I wouldn't use either camera for myself though. I really don't want to peer past my wheel and see yet another wheel onscreen too.

The biggest issue in my honest opinion with the lack of interior for most of the cars is not the lack of time, but the fact that Kaz in a perfectionist. I really think he could have at least made 500-600 forza quality interiors, and we would have been good, but if you look at GT5 interiors, they blow anything out of the water.

I feel like with Kaz, it's that "all or nothing" type mentality possibly. But I could be very very wrong, perhaps the PS3 cell processor is so difficult, that they didn't even have enough time to make GTR2 quality interiors in time for release.

I think that the camera just behind the windscreen would be a very good idea. Far better than looking at the steering wheel if you have a steering wheel.

+1 👍 thats my preferred view in driving games anyway

i really can't handle seeing the cars steering wheel when i'm using one myself

it'd be great to have the option to turn it off, like in GTL, GTR2 and rFactor

Simulator without cockpit view? No, I'm having a very very hard time swallowing that.
If nine out of ten cars had cockpit I'd get it immediately but one of out five? No, that's not acceptable for me.
3D, Day/night cycle, on/off lights, reverse lights, NASCAR and WRC vs cockpit view? I would still take cockpit view over any or all of them. I would even go as far as saying that I'd prefer GT5 without damage if I had cockpit view.

Monday, excited as heck.
Tuesday, exciting as h*ll.
Wednesday, "I thought damage would be the only thing separating Premium from Standard?"
Thursday, "I can't believe I'm having thoughts about not purchasing Gran Turismo 5 after having waited for this long."
Friday, ???.

It's sad having to wait for this long just to get this kind of news, just sad.

I agree man. All these new features are not important. what legit racing sim nowadays doesn't have cockpit view? It's unacceptable & anyone that I don't care bcuz I use bumper, you're pathetic. It's not good for the series, no one cares about you, we are on this site bcuz the game matters to us, not you so STFU

I wouldn't be too concerned about there being no interior (cockpit) view. I mean, it's so "realistic" Kaz, Joey Logano, Sebastian Loeb etc don't even use it, and this is at tradeshow's no less, where you think they would try to show of the "amazing" interior view.

Interior view is faux realism at it's finest, don't lose sleep over it.

because Kaz & Joey use bumperview; It does not mean its more or less realistic. I find it more realistic in the cockit. it gives me the real feeling of driving te car, and it feels better. But i am better/faster wich roof or bumperview. Still i prefer cockpit. whit no cockpits for standards. i am hoping for a good Bonnet view for all cars. Becaus i am not going to switch the view for every car i use.
