I was trying a few different cars in the 0.3 open beta, all on the Red Bull Ring GP track. The difficulty of beating the AI, and the AI behaviour, are very car dependent. The trackday Dallara Stradale and the M4 GT3 Evo are fantastic fun to drive (both have slicks), but I found the AIs could in places push the nose of their car against the rear of my car and spin me out. Even on 80-100% difficulty, once I got into 1st place, I was much faster than the AIs.

The M4 GT3 Evo felt amazing to drive, less sterile than ACC's GT3 cars. The Dallara is also amazing to drive, but the cars have individual identities, which is good.

What I did have, using a controller, and I think I had it with both the Dallara Stradale and the M4 GT3 Evo, was it felt too easy to get into an unrecoverable slide on certain corners. A particularly bad corner for it with the Dallara is the penultimate corner. Maybe I just need to get more used to the audio cues of approaching the amount of stick movement beyond which the car will slide. I've never played any other driving game where you have to find an exact amount of stick movement to take corners like this, I don't know if it's intentional or not, it certainly makes it tricky to take corners as fast as possible while never going into an unrecoverable slide.

I felt the previous version wasn't very sim at all, far too much fake difficulty, but 0.3 feels a lot more realistic to me. I can see myself running it up just for the fun of racing against the AI, whereas with the previous version I just thought "okay, I'll wait for the next version".

Some really whining saying it's bad, some saying it feels amazing, some saying it feels good but sudden snap oversteer ( which I can see on videos). Some say fbb is great while some say it's bad. When I use the term whining I'm talking about the YouTubers who are even crying about v.03 being called a beta. It seams to me they make content for content sake and not because they're particularly interested in Sims, that's the problem when you make your hobby your job and do it every day.

I tried it again last night, doing 5 lap races on the Red Bull Ring against the hardest AI, with the RS6, M4 GT3 Evo, and trackday Dallara Stradale. I can win easily with the RS6 and M4 GT3 Evo, no snap oversteer problems with those. But the Dallara, I cannot for the life of me complete a 5 lap race without going into an unrecoverable slide at some point. I think there may well be a dirty air effect, I did have a snap oversteer with the BMW at one point when still behind some AIs. With the Dallara, I've come to the conclusion it's super sensitive to being off the grippiest line, but even so, the lack of warning is a problem, you don't seem to get tyre squeal, for example, as a warning that you're approaching the point of steering too much. I'm sure it shouldn't be too hard to tweak some of this stuff, given how much better it is than the previous version.

I also tried some of the special events, e.g. did the GR86 around Brands Hatch, which is a 10 minute stint on a track that starts a bit damp, but dries out over the 10 mins. That was a huge amount of fun as well, but it seemed like the online leaderboard isn't working.
 
Why are these stupid things on EVERY TRACK???
Can we at least have an exclusive button to remove them?

Have you tried the F1 back to back comparison with AC? I'd love to see that.

I don't even have AC installed any more as last time I tried it, it didn't fully work with my controller via Steam's translation. I did try the F1 car in AC Evo and didn't enjoy it, but I don't see that as implying "hey, this one car being no fun to drive means the entire game's physics is terrible". If some cars are great fun to drive and others aren't, I see that as being more indicative of tweaks being required than it having foundational problems, and they've already said they have plans for significant further physics improvements beyond 0.3.

I should add I also never found F1 cars all that fun to drive in Gran Turismo, or the official F1 games. They're okay in The Crew Motorfest - not as fun as some other types of car in that game, but tolerable. I'm not sure they're even designed to be fun to drive in real life.

Intrestingly. on the discords Setfano Castillo states nothing has been changed in the FFB, only the physics. The pgysics will impact what is felt through the wheel I sippose.

I've been driving the Dallara this morning, fun car, like the customisation options, but I want the spyder in track day spec! The Trackday version seems to have slicks which can't be fitted to the other varations so if you want to extract maximum performance you need to spec that one with the H-pattern gearbox (the automatic is a robotised manual and will shift slower ;) Too much curb will result in death, so care is needed attacking them!

The trackday is the spyder isn't it? You can fit coupe doors to it.

I've solved the problem of the trackday Dallara being undriveable. I thought I had in the past mapped keys for all of increase/decrease TC, ESC and ABS, and had been pressing those keys before the start of the race, but ESC wasn't changing, so I just assumed it couldn't be changed. But it was showing red which made me suspicious, so I checked the key mappings and there weren't any key mappings set for ESC or ABS. So I now have ESC 1, and the car still requires care not to simply steer too much going round corners (using a controller, so I have no force feedback telling me when I'm near the limit), but the slides are much more recoverable when they happen. I can now easily win a 5 lap race against the hardest AI with it on Red Bull Ring. That's with the game's stability assist on 0%, just using the car's ESC.
 
Might have got my termino;ogy mixed up, the open car without the windscreen, Dallara call it a Barchetta.
