I agree. For some reason I thought there would be a slight price adjustment on these packs because Porsche. Nope. They kept it like the other DLC.
I was just thinking about how much these packs would cost if they came out in RaceRoom. Ouch :)

I thought for sure they Porsche Packs would be more than that. I think that pretty much dispels the myth that the cost of the Porsche license, at least in this case, is prohibitive. That line of reasoning is often used as to why other games didn't acquire the licence and it stuck with one studio for so long. Yet another long time urban legend busted by Kunos!

But it's still just a big money grab, right? :P

Well it should be free because I can't afford it and Kunos is a big money making conglomerate and they can afford to give it away and it's wrong to sell it because of how the game was launched on console and I'm putting you on ignore because you don't listen (la la la la)...I'm 99% sure...

I'm mixing up the trolling tag lines for dramatic effect:sly:

Just to be clear, the season pass will get all the Porsche packs for one price like other season passes, right?

Yes, but I believe it's only going to apply to the Porsche packs so once those are all released the season pass will be expired.

Remember they did say that porsche and maserati came to them so i doubt the contract could have been as expensive if it was the other way round.

Anything is possible, but assuming what you say is true, that would be even better for Kunos. Porsche is way more expensive for everyone else, but we love your game so much we lowered the price for you and gave you access to more of our vehicles than anyone else ever:cheers:. It's a win-win either way really.

Well, Porsche is great in so many areas but they cant do a proper racing simulator themself, they need an experienced team for a partnership and they looked for the best talent in the world. Someone at Porsche decided that Kunos is that talent. So how do i imagine how things went a couple of months ago?

Porsche went to italy and they said: “please do this racing simulator for us, with all the latest cars.“
Kunos said: “Sure thing but can we use the cars for our little game as well?“
And Porsche answered: “We got a deal“

Something like that ;-)

You were in the room weren't you?:sly: It'll be our little secret;)

This first pack is just too good. The next two will have something to think about! Anyway, good to know that Porsche comes to all platforms simultaneously, if we forget the slow submission process for consoles for a moment.

That's 0,7 bucks a car, great deal!
Yes it is, even though the FM6 Porsche Expansion was then also a good deal with 20 Cars and a brand new track for 20€/$.

But it's all splitting hairs on my part, let's be happy that console gamers get their hands on new stuff now at basically the same time as PC, just need to get the Red Pack to fully catch up.

and I would guess they stuck it between pack 1 & 2 on consoles to keep the excitement high.

I don't think it was a myth. EA was unreasonable as the sole proprietors of the Porsche brand in video games, and are now apparently out of the picture.

Correct. EA were the ones charging outrageous prices to anyone who wanted to "buy" the rights for Porsche, likely in an effort to keep them exclusive to their games. Microsoft/Turn10 were the only ones willing to pony up the cash as far as I know. I believe they still have a small bit of time left on their contract but Porsche obviously decided to side-step the deal early and work with Kunos.

Great picture of the 935 Moby Dick. I am seriously looking forward to getting my paws on these cars. My most anticipated car in Pack 1 is the 917/30 but there is some sexy stuff coming too.

Hopefully the trailer is not too far off as I would like to hear them.

Speaking of the 935 Moby Dick and the 917/30...
Who are their natural opponents? Maybe the F1 GTR?

No.. as far as i know Moby Dick has more than 800 horsepowers, the 917/30 is a can am car and one of the most powerful race cars in history (1000 hp+). Both cars are way older then the Mclaren and from completly different classes.

The 911 GT1 could be a good rival for the Mclaren F1.
