The Ferrari 330 P4 also seems essential even though we only have the Ford GT40 MKI so far. The GT40 MKIV was its main rival, right?
Correct, the 330 P4 and GT40 MkIV battled for prototype supremacy in 1967.

The GT40 MkI's closest Ferrari rivals were the 330 P4's ancestors: initially the Ferrari P (in 275 P and 330 P guises) and later the improved Ferrari P2 (in 275 P2, 330 P2 and 365 P2 guises). The 1965 version that is in AC was a good match for the P2 on fast circuits, but the more agile Ferrari had a clear edge on twistier tracks.

Personally, if I was Kunos, I would forgo looking for a GT40 MkI rival, ask Ferrari for the P4 and then beg Ford for a MkIV license. Those two cars were the culmination of the Ford-Ferrari rivalry and the eminent stars of that era.

Throw in the J50.

really ugly, I have been drawing cars that looks like that when I was a teen, based on 80s "box" style cars that I just applied the 90s style trend ie more roundish looks. Cars nowadays, especially supercars are so bad/cheap looking that you would think they are designed by little kids!... yikes.

You know what? I really struggle with Imola, that godawful chicane is always a pain in the backside. I don't know if it's because it's a track I've rarely driven outside of racers before this or if it's just the layout, but I struggle to flow at all there.

It's not very pleasant that chicane, it's a common thing amongst real racing drivers. So in that regard, it's not just you:D. You really have to dedicate yourself entering that chicane. Try trail braking, use the first curb, avoid the second. Enter slower than you would like. I always avoid going over the second curb, because it will throw you outside the track:cheers:

So I've got a few questions...

Lambo_list.jpg

- Is the Aventador in-game the only one we'll get? Wouldn't mind a regular LP700, something more 'vanilla' - you know?
- Is the Gallardo GT3 even happening anymore? Someone said Huracán GT3 superseding it meant it'd be pointless, but I don't buy that, perhaps some of us like the old racecars too and would still like to see them in-game officially.
- And lastly, the Veneno & Asterion. Are they penciled-in somewhere?, part of another pack or something?

I don't feel like searching the support-forums for that one tiny snipet of info, especially if someone here knows already and can spare me the time and aggravation of "HOWL DARE U QHESTION KUNOS" for asking where content announced almost a year ago is. (Spring is right around the corner afterall)

Its the one coming down the hill that I hate before the chicane while turning, going fast at the same time trying to brake a little heavy for the second right hander. It can throw off the rear losing traction as well as riding the kerb.

The exit can be so awful on that chicane up the hill. The same chicane after the Sparco banner? Some cars hate that green asphalt soon as you put any power on. I think the Maserati GT4 is one of them?

They all look the same anyway, just squint a little bit when you're driving the Gallardo and pretend it's an Aventador. :P

Brake late and don't go for the inside kerb, aim for the second, hard to explain

I do think they said the SV is going to replace the vanilla Aventador. I don't know about the rest though. I think the Gallardo isn't coming because of the Huracan GT3.

I would really like to see the following Ferraris:

125 - First car to be built by Ferrari and carry the name.

250 TR - One of the most legendary and gorgeous Ferraris.

333SP - Successful and looks and sounds incredible.

360 Modena - First of the 'modern' great Ferraris thanks to De Montezemelo and criminally forgotten about.

575 GTC - Monster GT car.

F40 GTE - McLaren F1 GTR needs a rival.

F2008 - Looked fantastic, was part of a great season culminating with the dramatic Brazilian GP in 2008.

Aqua Minerale and Variante Alta you're referring to there @Orayani , i can still hear Murray Walker in classic BBC F1 races at Imola, shouting out the names of the corners (and the drivers of course :) ), great times. :)

I personally adore Imola, a real driver's circuit, even moreso before they added the chicanes in 1995.

Mmm!

Though I wasn't keen on the shark fin. It wasn't bad looking just not as nice as the curved engine cover.

Isn't that what they also say about Porsche?, we got all those squashed beetles, why not the raging bulls too? :sly:

I think the Gallardo isn't coming because of the Huracan GT3.

That's what I fear with the Gallardo, and if that's the case, kind of a bum-move by Kunos to mention it with the license and then do nothing, not even officially informing/saying something about it, like they're hoping people will forget it or something.

I despise that section right there. I can't tell you how many laps I've blown going wide left on the second right-hander. On the PC version they do give you a fair amount of leeway cutting the inside curb on the first right-hander, the downhill one. But you need to carry speed through the second right-hander, the uphill one, because you have a decent straight coming up (before the chicane) so you don't want to lose time there.

The other turn I'm awful with is #8 Piratella. It's that first left-hander before the section mentioned above. You come flying up the hill from the U-turn and that's an important left-hander...I have gone off track to the right so many times. Ugh.

I am a raging Lamborghini fanboy, but I'm not going to call it a bum-move when Kunos gave us a Lamborghini that wasn't mentioned in that original video, the Aventador SV. So, it's not that much of a surprise, to me, that they might want to forego giving us the older GT-3 car and the base model of the supercar they gave us. However, I've heard rumors that the Gallardo GT-3 has been built & ready to go for a long time already, so maybe it will be coming -- kind of like the Audi Sport Quattro S1 E2. That was the first project Gergö (pankykapus) did when he was hired by Kunos. That means that Audi sat around for ~2 years!

If the Gallardo GT3 does come, you'll hear no complaints from me. :) However, I really hope they aren't still planning on delivering the Asterion. That project was cancelled by Lamborghini, so I hope it was cancelled by Kunos as well. I would rather see the LP580-2 Huracan, or maybe the Huracan Superleggera that should be coming out fairly soon. Rumors say that will be a RWD car, not AWD. The more Lambo's the merrier, for me. :D

By now I'll rather have a Huracan road car than a Gallardo GT3. I'd scrap both of them for Diablo SV though.
I'd prefer a Huracan road car too. GT3 is a very well represented racing class in Assetto Corsa. I think that's obvious to anyone who's played AC. I'm not saying we don't need more GT3 cars. On the contrary. Just bring on the newer ones. If I'm not mistaken, the BMW M6 GT3 is a lock. That's coming for sure, right?

I'm still working with my Lamborghini Diablo SV. Slowly, but surely she's coming along. But, if Kunos decided to produce their own I wouldn't be offended. ;) Maybe they could do a different model of Diablo, like the Diablo GT or VT6.0 or SE30... I seriously would take any Diablo and be quite happy. :D

Agreed. Marco said that the BMW M6 GT3 is coming. Whether that means for sure I can't say.

Let me put it this way... There's a Diablo GT and GT2 in GT6, and I've kept wondering why Polyphony didn't secure the SV. There's just something about the Diablo SV styling that stands out to me. Well, it was one of the greatest road cars during my childhood, so I probably can't be cured. In fact, I still get all excited when I look at the front cover of my NFS III Hot Pursuit copy for PS1.

Now I wouldn't mind multiple versions of the car in AC, but the SV first please.

Yep, it's clear that VAG moved some of the Porsche designers over to Lamborghini after the acquisition.

Now we're talking.

@BrandonW77 You're right...If you hit that section perfectly it's an incredible feeling...at least, for me it is. How do you usually approach that section? Do you take a good amount of curb on the first right? It doesn't seem to unsettle the car much and it's so worn in graphically that it seems like that's the line you want...

Overall, I've been driving so poorly. This goes back at least as far as I when I tripped and ripped the chord out of my DFGT. I remember thinking that the DFGT I was borrowing was to blame, at first, but it was a poor excuse for whatever I started doing (or maybe stopped doing) - my lap times have suffered tremendously. I can't even remember the last time I completed a clean lap on Nordschleife when running an all out Hot lap. I don't necessarily crash, but I always somehow manage to put my tires somewhere that DQ's my lap time.

On another note: Have you seen that new Content Manager Showroom? That thing is nice! That man is a wizard, I swear to God.

I generally go in there ball's out and hope for the best. :nervous:  I keep the throttle wide open as long as I can, downshift one gear as I approach the first apex, then bang down two more gears before the next apex. I think I stay pretty wide left of that first inner curb so I can kind of swing it into the second turn, if you're hitting the inner curb your angle for the second turn is going to be too sharp. I do get all up on the inner and outer curbs of the second turn though.

I've never seen any showroom in AC, not sure what their purpose is. :dunce:

That's my favourite section of the track! It's like the entry in to Oak Tree at VIR. You are braking while turning, ass wants to hang out and you use the momentum to get the car pointing to the exit and somehow manage to lose enough speed to clip the apex. Love it!

See...That's how I always thought I should take the first turn. My thinking was exactly the same as what you just stated. A nice wider arc should give me a better approach angle for turning into the second right. Like I said, then I start thinking, "why is this inside curb so worn out and practically completely flat? What am I doing wrong?!" I really like the layout though. For me, it's a pretty challenging layout in its current configuration.

I don't know why they're called showroom's, but if you select a car & skin and you want to really see what it's going to look out you can hit that button that gives you a revolving view around the car. You can open & close the car doors and even get inside of the car. Turn on the lights & wipers...I never use 'em for that. But taking Preview Photo's of cars is done with a "showroom". I prefer all my cars to be in the plain black background like Kunos uses. Often, when you install a mod car the author created the preview photo(s) with a background of an auto garage or it looks like the car is outside in front of a brick building. I can't stand those, so I tell CM to make me new ones. Luckily, @x4fab just installed a new Batch feature for recreating Preview Photos.

Since I've started using Content Manager I don't even see the car preview photos anymore. :D But even when I did I never really cared about what they looked like, in fact I might actually prefer them to look different than Kunos so I'd know they were mod cars at a glance. Eh, sounds like a cool improvement for those who enjoy it though, that dude is always making great improvements to CM. 👍
