 Thanks! I know you said it was from Velo, but I was just being lazy... Thanks for posting the link here.

That totally is one thing that I hate about online racing. If given the opportunity, most people are always going to select the fastest car in the group, even if it's only 0.5s faster in hotlap mode. But then if you make it a single-make race people gripe about that... Does anyone have a fairly up to date list of lap times for just the Kunos GT3 cars? If I remember correctly, there is decent balance among some of the cars but there are clear differences between the fastest and slowest of the GT3's. Damn...I have such a horrible memory. I know these comparisons have been done, but I can't freakin' remember where I can find that data anymore. Sometimes I honestly think I'm losing my mind. One last thing is the Group C cars - which I love - I think some cars are considerably faster than others and I don't know if this is the reason, but I know I've heard that some of the cars we have are setup for LeMans while others are setup for shorter, twistier road courses.

Has anyone ever popped open a car's .bank file in the \..\content\sfx folder to mess around with the wav files within? This is what's inside the sound file for the Porsche 917/30 Spyder:

I'm curious if any of you hooligans Frankenstein'd any car sound files and were you satisfied with the results?
I heard that both Mclaren and both Mercedes GT3s have identical physics and handling... Intresting choice Kunos made. BTW do you guys think in ACC there will be "older" GT3s too like the SLS or the MP4? Or even the Scuderia Glickenhaus:embarrassed: probably not because the arent in the Blancpain series...

My belief is that we will have ONLY the current crop of GT3 cars running in the Blancpain series. I really didn't put any thought into "older" GT3 cars, but now that you bring it up I think a really cool feature would be the ability to race in 2014 or 2015...It would have to be a complete series though. No mixing and matching 2014 GT3 cars with 2018 GT3 cars. I think the odds of that happening are 0.0003% in favor. So I won't be holding my breath. I really wish Kunos would drop a few words on us about the progress and gameplan they're anticipating for these coming months. We've been told early access in the summer of 2018 and that's not all that far away.

Pursuing realism in this aspect (funny, cause everything else in mod is pure fantasy)

Pretty sure the only thing fantasy about them is the names, which was a necessity because if you use real brand names on a pay mod you will likely receive a takedown request from the IP owners. Other than that they're supposedly pretty true to the real cars. If they had falsely balanced the performance between them a lot sim racers would have rejected them outright and their sales probably would have been pretty poor.

Other than that they're supposedly pretty true to the real cars.
And on what suppositions it is based on? did they get data from manufacturers, race teams and so on, or just fudged numbers to make cars "believeable"? Still it doesn't change the fact that online experience will be bad without heavy boping, will be funny to see 500kg ballasts to match ferrari time with lambo (the car that sucks most in this pack)

So...is the Lancia LC2 meant to guzzle 2 litres/km? I had 60 litres onboard for a 10-lap race of Paul Ricard 1988 and ran out of fuel at the start of the final sector on lap 9.

found this in Wikipedia, "More powerful than their primary competition, the Porsche 956s, the LC2s were able to secure multiple pole positions during their three and a half seasons with the factory Martini Racing squad. However, deficiencies in reliability and fuel consumption hampered the LC2s' efforts for race wins against the Porsches"
not sure if 2 liters per Kilometrers is right but is seems that car had a drinking problem.:D
The regulation for those cars is supposed to 0.6 liter per kilometers, see below.

Also an interesting thread right here on GT Planet about that car
https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/threads/lancia-lc2-martini-racing-group-c-1985.326959/

"In 1982 the new Group C regulations were introduced and Lancia immediately began work on a racing car. Each car had to maintain a fuel economy of 100KM for every 60 Litres of fuel. Their first attempt, the LC1 did not meet the regulations and they had to build the LC2 for the 1983 season"

The fuel consumption in the car.ini file says:

[FUEL]
CONSUMPTION=0.0050 ; fuel consumption. In one second the consumption is (rpm*gas*CONSUMPTION)/1000 litres

maybe 0.0020 will work better.

And on what suppositions it is based on? did they get data from manufacturers, race teams and so on, or just fudged numbers to make cars "believeable"?

Wow.

Still it doesn't change the fact that online experience will be bad without heavy boping, will be funny to see 500kg ballasts to match ferrari time with lambo (the car that sucks most in this pack)

Mods aren't really used online, pay mods are even more rare to see online. Doubt it will be much of an issue, and the few people who do use them online probably don't care about the lack of BOP because they want an experience that represents what the real cars were.

That RSS Shadow is a nice car (although I've got other Saleens that I actually prefer driving), but that fuel consumption has to be a mistake, doesn't it?

What's the remaining car?

Pretty sure the only thing fantasy about them is the names, which was a necessity because if you use real brand names on a pay mod you will likely receive a takedown request from the IP owners. Other than that they're supposedly pretty true to the real cars. If they had falsely balanced the performance between them a lot sim racers would have rejected them outright and their sales probably would have been pretty poor.

Easy fix, they could have included 2 versions of each car - stock and BOP'd version (as an S1 "upgrade" in game). Job done.

BTW, I belong in the non-BOP camp as I never race online, so I always want to drive the purest and "best" possible version of any cars.

According to the RSS store, it's Ferruccio 57 v12. Judging by the name, it's probably the Ferrari 575 GTC. A bit disappointing, I was hoping they would add the M3 GTR or the Corvette C5-R (going by the theme of FIA GT cars from that era).

LOL

"Pay what you want" Minimum bet is 15$.
Isn't that fantastic? They have every right to do what they want, but I believe they've used poor wording. I can understand why they didn't make it a truly "Pay What You Want" mod. I don't have any data, but the number of jerks who donate $0.01 or $0.10 or something along those lines is a lot bigger than it should be.

Oh mama! I'm quite certain those guys could make one awesome Corvette C5-R...That was a very successful race car which only adds to my interest. It's going to be interesting to see what happens with RSS production in the coming months now that ChargingCar is leaving RSS. I have no idea what modelling was done by A3DR and what modelling was done by ChargingCar, but I do know he is a very skilled artist and AC modder. For as awesome of an artist A3DR is, I think it'd be better to have ChargingCar than to not have him...ya know? 2 is better than 1. Although, garyjpaterson is also a part of RSS, or so I've been told. He's a very good modeller too.

I know. Looking from some perspective, they are not doing anything wrong. I do think the price is too much, but most of all, it's funny how they sell it.

Hi Masscot ! ;-)

I completely agree !
Very well done, great drive, It surprised me a lot some time ago... joyfully. :D

I wrote in a previous post here, that I will share my feelings about the two Ford Zakspeed "DRM" updated by Velo.

Wich I appreciated a lot on the two Ford "Velos" is the rumble sound on the downshifting (cockpit view), It's purely awesome, one of the best that I ever heard ! <3
And... that's all !
I dislike the cockpit sounds in the "DRM Mod", It's completely a mess with the balance of the tones, some sounds are increased too loud (the turbo wistle is a torture for my ears !) and by the way, It's enjoyable to have "clear" sounds with the two "Velos".

For the driving, there is no challenge here.
The cars stills stick on the road, no "hole" in the power before a turbo action, no possibility to play with the turbo power but... I understand that It can be a pleasure to drive, It's not my way of driving, no problem ! ;-)

I'm not at all a fanatic of the "DRM Mod", there are so much things wrong for the price and the "3 years development" (^^) but, as the early turbo development power (and you can feel it perfectly with the Kunos Lotus 98T), the power is not linear at all and with the "Velos", It's not simulated and so "easy" to drive.

I'm not an "alien", I'm not a natural born talented driver but I worked hard and I can feel very well the physics wich are from "outer space" than some decent one and I got some mechanicals history or memory.

I don't judge anyone who appreciate the "Velos" works on these two Zakspeed, the personal pleasure is the first factor but, for me, no challenge, no pleasure. ;-)

Cheers. ;-)
