One guy mentioned that I have no clue about turbo engines which I do.I was talking about secret weopons in every engine meaning you don't know what to expect in every newer model, you may just assume.Don't just judge japanese cars just like that. They have alot of potential.Bmw has already built a reputation.I was looking at the new Nissan Skyline R34 GTR Spec 11 2005 model and yes its out here.Do you know that its 792 horsepower and gives a 0-60 reading of 3.5 seconds. That was the only car on the drag team to match up with the lamborghini. The Evo was a short distance behind.Try beating that with a German Bmw.By the time Bmw comes out with a new 2006 or 2007 M5, Mitsubishi and Nissan would come out with something better. The 2006 925 horsepower Skyline GTR Spec 111 would stomp the lamborghini and thats trying to go competition with the ferrari enzo.Mitsubishi said that they're coming out with a new 7 speed manual in 2 years time with double the horsepower. You see now its the japanese turn to make a name for themselves.Yes Bmw can give the Evo series some good competition but it definately cannot match with the Nissan Skyline.Top that.
Hi GTR8, its that guy.
Firstly I don't judge Japanese cars with any form of bias, I have worked for a Japanese manufacturer and currently drive a Japanese car. Two of my posts were in regard to statements of fact that you made and I know to be wrong, simply putting you right; sorry if you don't like that.

Besides..the person who is talking about the M5 doing less than 5 secs in 0-60 is full of crap..the only way that could be possible was if you modified it some more..
I call BS on that statement.
Autocar in the UK printed a full road test of the new M5, I have scanned the figures and you can access them by clicking on the gallery button at the bottom of my post (watch out the image in big).
0-60 = 4.6 seconds
Thats measured with GPS dataloging equipment as all Autocar tests are, the figures are about the best true independent one you wil get.

Really MR's of various specs have been out in the UK for over a year now.
Tut tut, more BS
My third post was in regard to a sentence of yours that makes very little sense (to me and maybe a few others).

OK, now explain exactly what you mean by this, back up what on the face of it appears to be nonsense.
Tell my exactly why a boxer engine is a secret weapon when fitted to a car, what are the pros and cons of a boxer layout, who uses them and why. But most of all tell me why its called a 'boxer' layout.
Come on, show me your stuff.
Now I don't actualy think I said in that post that you did not know how a turbo engine functions, I asked about Boxer engines; its also quite intesresting that you have now even bothered to try and explain. Even if you had to 'google' the answers I would not give a damn, at least you may have learnt something new.
I am (along with a few others) very excitted about these new GTR's you have been talking about. Particularly as you seem to be the only person who has seen them; even the president of Nissan (Carlos Gohn) has said no new GTR before 2006/2007 and with the R34 out of production you seem to know something even he does not). I used to work for the Renault/Nissan alliance in the UK and am surprised that no one I know their has toldme this great news, particularly as I was speaking to a member of the marketing department only last week.
Now what you apear to have failed to realise is that most people on this site are very knowledgable about the motor industry (a number of us working within the industry), most have no particulary bias against any particular marque. You will find very few of the Domestic vs. import arguments here.
We did not dismiss Japanese cars, you are the one who has dismissed BMW's, just to remind you, your first post.

Bmw's are lame looking cars. The only difference is the double grill in the front.
As far as speed and performance...the Audi's are better. The M5's are not worth
the money. You better choose an Audi or Lexus. Plus the back of Bmw's are so
ugly.The 3 series,5 series etc....they all look the same..Get an IS 300 or GS 430..
much better in looks and performance.. If you really want speed ..I mean serious
racing performance...choose an Evolution 8 MR. Its also very affordable. Now
you can't class an M5 to that...EVO baby! Remember just because Bmw's are
German...does not mean that its the best.
Us biased? No, I think you may need to look in the mirror for that one.
On a closing note, I am very interested in this drag team you belong to; could you please let me have details of any website they may have, or details of the strip they run at. I would like to find out more and speak to them with regard to the huge range of exotic cars they have easy access to.
P.S. Don't forget about the boxer engines now.
