Edit: just seen you're from Iowa. Me too. Where about is Charlotte? I'm in Fort Dodge at the moment for school but im from north east Iowa

Charlotte is a tiny town (400 people) in east central Iowa, about an hour north of the Quad Cities. I'm in Ames for another couple semesters for school though.

How does the draft work?

Everyone on the driver's list will be thrown into a hat. Names will be randomly drawn, when your PSN is called you may choose what car and color you wish to run for the season. After the draft is over you may form a team with one other driver who has chosen the same make (i.e. Audi)
 
Will be doing any "official" races tonight?
I'd imagine that there would at least be some testing and free run.

Sorry to hear that. Is it a slimline or older model? There is a really good youtube walkthrough to fix that. I had my original 60GB model YLOD on me and I fixed it like 5 times before it died for good and I got a slimline.

Also, yes there will be a open practice and fun race =)
 
It's a FAT. I already have it taken apart. Now I need to get a heat gun and some thermal paste to get it going so I can back everything up and get my GT5 disc out :(

Yeah, GT5 data isn't transferrable to a different PS3 though. You'll have to start over. Buy a slimline though, it's worth the 300 bucks. Also, sears has a really good heat gun for 70 bucks. That's where I got mine. Goes to 1000 degrees.
 
AH..... Who knows what just happened, but as i was trying to load the course to enter a the free run with an z4 for fun the game froze on a black screen with the GT5 logo in the right corner. So i had to boot down and now GT5 is freezing.

Just will be out of the free run for today.

Im Buddhas--brother, i already registered the Audi. I just cant do the free run right now. I was there for the draft however.
 
Oh yeah, and btw, gman (aka gtp potatochip) and I are going to form a team.
I can probably make a race on Thursday.

gogatrs - I'll put down you and potatochip as a team. Is there a team name you guys wanna use?
 
Will we be able to paint our own colors? Cause I kinda already started working and breaking in my car. Have it painted a different color with color on the rims as well. Obviously not a stock color. Matte Grey to be exact.
