Oh live streaming ay?

Should be an awesome race much like the old days off Bathurst. Pitty it doesn't get the TV Coverage it deserves!

Cheers.
I too would much rather watch the production and semi-production cars race than the V8SC's.
Didn't it used to be called improved production in the days of the HO's?

Yeah I think so.

While I miss production based Aus touring cars, I still love watching the V8Supercars at Bathurst. I try and go up every year.

But yeah there is something cool about watching production based cars, especially seeing the speed difference between diferrent class cars (see video I posted above)

Don't get me wrong I still watch all the V8 races I can. Still haven't been to Bathurst, and have only been to the Hidden Valley V8s last year, I REALLY REALLY want to go for the Townsville race, as that's my home town. Went to see them at the F1 a couple of years ago, but missed them on the Sunday and caught the GP instead, and from then I fell in love with those SUPER LOUD F1 cars.
I like it it when they show the production car racing on SBS I think, but you never see much of it, and there are only a couple of 'Aussie' cars there.

I'm stiil yet to see the XR8 in my UCD, I've got both the Holdens and I picked up the Pontiac GTO (Monaro) today.

Edit: While I still enjoy V8 Supercars, I do admit to falling asleep during the 1st race of the Sandown Round last year.

If we had some Australian tuning companies try out for the GT awards at SEMA, we could have some more Australian cars.

I beg to differ that the Holdens handle like rubbish. Not to start a flame war, but what car would you have represent Australia? I'm a Ford man myself but at the end of the day if I enjoy driving it, it goes relatively quickly and puts out a nice note than what's not to like.
We all know that our Commodores and Falcons are heavy, but there not meant to be sports cars, at the end of the day they are family transport first. But try and find another sedan in the game that handles, goes as just as fast, and than get one for similar amounts of money. The only thing that comes to mind is the Carlton tuned by Lotus. Now try and find one in the real world. No one expects the Holdens to be running with GT-Rs or STi's. Same as the Ford V8 Supercar, its a totally different car to JGTC or DTM.

+1 Bronco 👍.

I need a large and safe 5 seat sedan that can tow, and I wanted something with some luxury and power too. For the money, not much comes close to Commodore CalaisV V8 or Falcon G6ETurbo.

Anyone watch the 12 hour race on the weekend? Shame about the crappy stream quality, but those R8's are amazing to watch around Bathurst.

Lownde's best lap was a 2:09.8, less than a second slower than the V8 Supercar lap record set by Jamie Whincup. The most amazing thing about it was that he set it on around lap 270

G'Day from SA .Scottish EX Pat living in Adelaide. i guess that kind of makes me an Aussie.
I too vote for Bathurst and maybe even Adelaide street circuit in the game, played bathurst in other racing games TOCA comes to mind, and loved it couldn't get enough.
I don't know a great deal about the V8 supercars series , but having attended the Clipsal 500 on a few occasions it is thrilling to watch and i became a fan right away.
This series needs to be represented in some form in the GT series.

I would also like to see some UTE's in there. i would pay for Aussie DLC.

Come on Kaz read this thread.

All the best
feel free to add PSN in sig.

Was great viewing... those Audis were sensational.

Apparently they are looking to double the entry list next year. I really hope it gets the coverage it deserves, they should show the whole race on TV!

Weren't PD going to convert some standards to premium? I hope they do that to the SS and the Monaro.

Why do the Australians always complain about only having 3 cars? US IRISH ONLY GOT ONE CAR, DO WE COMPLAIN?

The DeLorean ;)

Holden alone sell over 50 thousand cars a year and export to more than 20 countries, and not one current model is represented in GT5.

Yet they included the Delorean which sold about 9000 units in total, looks ordinary and makes a whopping 170hp... Perhaps that explains why some Australians are less than satisfied with the amount of Australian content

Fixed ^^

There is the reason.
50,000 in the global automotive economy just doesn't rate high enough for PD or Sony.
There are some other manufacturers that sell less, but are a global brand, which is why they get the coverage.

Don't get me wrong, I want more Aussie content, but its the stark reality in a marketing driven world.

I missed the 12 hour race, tried to catch some while I was at work but OneHD was playing up :(

It wasn't shown on One HD unfortunately, it was only streamed online. Apparently there will be a 2 hour summary on One HD in a week or two though.

So Sick & tired of hearing Aussie's complain about the "why no aussie ford or holden" so im gonna tell everyone straight the reason why they werent inculded!

: There all S**t, both holden & ford, PD realised this and backed away!
