I`m here too. No internet connection.......at the outlaws until my house is finished being built. Yeah it`s a shame we lost the FPV`s and didn`t get any more aussie cars, maybe will get them back as DLC. Disappointing to say the least. I Have seen the monaro in used cars but decided against it due to needing a 60`s car and didn`t have enough for both.

Reporting in from Tasracia,
I can do without the Aussie cars but I would love Bathurst to be in.
Maybe some old cars as well a Phase III, A9x and a group c Falcon and Commodore touring car would be cool.

FRR35H from Sydney here.
It sucks how we originally had 5 total Aussie models in the original GT4. Then come GTPSP they take away Holden completely. Then, hurray! Holden's back in GT5! Hold on! Where the hells FPV?
We can't even have a decent grudge match.
Meanwhile, in Forza land, they're getting not only the V8 Supercars, they're also getting HSV and Holden alike and not the old models either.
Now I remember reading somewhere that Kaz was given a HSV brochure during an Australian interview and he fell in love with a Maloo pictured (usually indicates that he will feature it in his game) but no Maloo! Maybe there will be DLC for Aussie cars/tracks (let's hope).

Sydney racer here, psn is esskay_

Would love to see bathurst in there, along with even just 1 or 2 premium aussie cars. MAybe a nice torrie or GTHO.... not sure what the chances are, we're nowhere as big as the US market so I get the feeling there isn't the same "incentive" ;) to put aussie cars in there as the US ones.

It would be nice to see some non-Australians in here giving their opinion on Bathurst. :)

Also, I tweeted Kaz this:
"GT5 is brilliant! どうも有り難うございます. You should come to Australia and see the V8 Supercars, why so little Australian stuff in GT5?"

The Japanese there is "domo arigatau gozaimasu", which is the very formal and polite way of saying "thank you very much".

Oh come on, there are people from tons of countries that don't have their local cars in the game. What makes you more important than any other country?

PD made their choice, and they only put 3 OZ cars in the game. Man up and live with it.

Look at Australia's history in racing, its just as good as many other famous for racing countrys.

I agree Bathurst should be on there, but there are plenty of very famous tracks around the world that are not in GT5 such as Pike's Peak hill climb, Isle of Mann, some very very famous F1 tracks etc. My point is, yes Bathurst is legendary and loved by 4-5 million aussies, but some of those other places in the game are loved by 20-30 million people...

Good to see another Australian that thinks with their brain and not with an American-esque national pride.

People saying Australia has 'some of the best race tracks in the world'. ha.

We have one track that rules over all others in the country and it's Bathurst. No other track compares to it.

And as great as Bathurst is, its far from the BEST in the world. Top 4 probably imo. And even then their are other tracks I'd love to see in GT just as much as Bathurst.

In any case, I do agree we need Bathurst and SOME australian cars. preferably classics. Couldn't really give a damn about the new Holdens and Fords. See them every day and don't find them to be anything amazing.

my PSN is gtp_wook if anyone wants to add me, btw.

the silly thing is, just because Australia (and other parts of the world) are relatively small audiences in the grand scheme of GT5, its essentially an instant win.

MORE aussies will buy it if there is more aussie content.
if it was a Paid DLC pack, you could garentee it would sell because there are no other options.

GRID has bathurst, but its a pretty piss poor attempt.
F3 has V8 Supercars, but who needs V8 Supercars when we have the cars they're based on. I'd be more interested in driving 6+Litre HSV's and Supercharged 5L FPV's that could be modded beyond the spec of a V8 supercar anyway.

I'd rather they modeled something else than a Holden/Ford. Much more interesting cars out there. Tracks wise though sure there are a few I wouldn't mind but again there are a lot of other tracks around the world they should model first.

We simply are a too small market to cater for. Sure there will be more sales in Australia but would it be enough to cover the cost? No. Would it sell anywhere near as well as DLC that included say Spa or Infineon? Absolutely not.

Face it guys there is a lot more other stuff out there that should be in GT before Australian stuff.

I bought the Monaro about an hour ago. Haven't driven it yet.
Also, it's not just the Aussies that love Bathurst.

I was at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in July and there was an entire segment devoted to Bathurst "50 years of the great race". There was about half a dozen race cars there, including Dick Johnson's Sierra, Brock's VC Commodore, Larry Perkin's VP Commodore, Moffat's Falcon etc.

So other countries are definitely aware of it. Have to say it was awesome seeing all of those old cars so far from home

I would love to see the Adelaide GP Street circuit – the original version, still to this day is quoted as being one of the best street circuits in the world. I’ve only ever played it in a handful of games and it was great!

Deffinately, but i still think some region specific DLC releases would work well.

Signed!
Pontiac G8 (v6, unfotunately) owner, Australian muscle car fan and Australian touring car fan.

I'm surprised that they didn't even include the Winston GTR from the group A days.

What could be better than a Kiwi making Bathurst his own?

Anyone unfamiliar with the Mountain, this vid gives a great run through of it. And check out the standing ovation he gets in the pits at the end.

Racedriver: GRID has bathurst as DLC.
But then again GRID is like kissing your sister (No offence to people from tassie.)

when i bought the game i took a quick look into the dealership screen and saw no Holden's and was slightly disappointed...

Then a few nights ago i was checking the used car dealerships, was skim reading over models of cars and then saw Holden and scrolled back up...could not believe my eyes that they had included the CV8... even more so that it was the exact same color as the one i own irl (my cv8 is Oct '03 but close enough to the '04 :P) Quickly sold a bunch of cars to afford it!

Awesome lap. Even though that time has since been beaten, it will always be the best lap around mount Panorama. Even if he is a kiwi...

Yea and total credit to Whincup. I just love that video, both for the feat and for the way it showcases the Mt and the spirit of ausi V8s / racing (pit lane applauding skill).

As much as I think PD are doing really well with the GT series I do also feel that (providing licensing is not a problem) they should include at least Bathurst!;)👍
My reasons are simple;
1. It is a track with a fantastic history of Motorsport!
2. It is possibly the most highly regarded/ (deffinitely top 3) track in the southern hemisphere.
3. It has inspired top class Manufacturer's from not just Australia to name one of there Sports Cars after the track (Toyota, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Vauxhall etc).
4. It is host to the most highly anticipated greatest Motorsport race in Australia!
5. Also atracts other very popular Motorsport events (Bathurst 12 Hour!).
6. Mount Panarama is a truly fantastic race track that has all the elements of a trying, testing and fear-inspiring track (Australia's Nurburgring).:D
7. Do you really need a seventh reason?
Here's the latest and greatest lap of the Mountain by Craig Lowndes!
Listen to those revs over Skyline!:dopey:👍

Hopefully now that GT cars are allowed in the 12 Hours, Kaz might even come down and experience the track.

Here, here. There is no way that one could honestly argue that going around in circles hundreds of times (Nascar) is more interesting than 5.0 litres of Australia's signature V8s crackling around the twists of Bathurst. I can't believe we've only been given a pinch of cars where there are 50 variations of the Skyline... Well I can, but it's a little wrong.

...I cried a little bit :(

Well of course the Skyline has won Bathurst twice, so maybe that could be the connection we need to get Bathurst into the series :P
