What auto racing do you follow on television and why? Formula 1? WRC? Cart? NASCAR?

List all the ones you enjoy (if you can).

The only ones I see on TV are Nascar, which I won't watch, and Formula 1, although that is on at around 6 AM usually. :indiff: As far as I know, Super GT in only televised in the UK or else I'd watch that.

I watch the F1, because I think it's the pinnacle of road racing and a Finn, Kimi Räikkönen competes there. I'd love to watch WRC more, but it gets very poor TV-coverage around here. I try to watch it whenever I can.
Then I watch WTCC and FIA GT whenever I can. Used to watch the DTM aswell, but it's now on a pay-tv channel so I haven't got a chance to see any races.

NHRA Drag Racing and NASCAR are pretty much the only ones I will turn on for a little bit. I can usally watch all of the drag racing coverage, but anything eles I get board with after a few laps.

I think Speed quit showing WRC, so I can watch that anymore.

The absolute best racing for me has to be the GT & touring class of the Speed World Challenge. 50 minutes or hard racing, wicked fun standing start, and showroom looking vehicals so you can cheer on your own personal vehicles...wish i had tapes of all the raced over the last 10 years. I'd watch them over and over and over

Oh, almost forgot about the new GP2 series, which I also watch every now and then. Again, propably because Finns are doing quite well innit. Heikki Kovalainen, done test driving for the Renault F1 team this season, and is currently in the lead of the series. Expect to see he in the F1 within three years. Then there's Nico Rosberg, who is the son of an 1980's Finnish F1 champion, Keke Rosberg. He's currently second in the championship standings.

I watch F1 because it is the top class of open-wheeled racing. Although lately it has got to much polotics involved and is therefore on a downward slope. I also watch the BTCC because it is very enjoyable racing and well worth 15 laps of watching. I also like to watch the LeMans, when its on, because that is the summit of racing and something that every race driver aspire to.

I am looking forward to A1GP, The World Cup of Motorsport. This looks like it will be fun and could even overtake F1 as the best open-wheeled race series. Also Britains entry looks absolutely fantastic, lol. Team GBR

I grew up watching NASCAR on TV. It's the only form of racing I seem to care for.

Here in the states, Nascar, IRL, and NHRA mostly. Occasionall, there's an ALMS race, but that's it.

But in Europe, F1, WRC, Super GT, anything I could watch.

ALMS, Speed GT, Speed Touring car... WRC when I catch it on. Oh, F1 too but because that's my dad's fav.

Kick ass cars, great racing and I need my fix somehow if I can't play GT4. :dopey:

oh yeah, BTCC, DTM (Haven't seen it on speed in a long time) Great NasCrap like action where there's more cars off the track than on.

Wish I could watch FIA GT... :grumpy: More Vipers competitively racing!

BTCC, WRC, F1, FIA GT, DTM and Super GT from time to time too.

BTCC, FIA GT, DTM and JGTC (now called Super GT) were favorites, but Speed Channel now airs NASCRAP instead. Bleh.

I used to watch Trans Am, Speed GT, Speed Touring and WRC but I always seem to miss the races (I fall asleep while watching them if I catch them on TV).

ALMS and F1 are almost never missed, especially F1.

ALMS, F1, Speed GT, and sometimes the WRC highlights. I sure wish SPEED would show the fully rally instead of just the highlight shows.

I'd watch WRC religiously if I got it.
What I get is NASCAR and F1-in-French. I'll watch a few laps of NASCAR every once in a while, because I don't really have any idea what's going on and it's interesting to figure out.
F1 is, well, in French. WRC is the only actual racing I'm interested in, for everything else I'll just watch it to hear about the cars, which I can't if it's in French. If they were at any track in GT I'd watch, but it's hard for me to get the flow of it if I'm not driving myself.
There's the occational NHRA thing every once in a while too I find it irritating that they only discuss the tech (all I really care about) in the briefest possible terms, and go on and on about track conditions. I watch it anyway because 5 second runs suit my attention span and the slicks they use make me giggle for some reason.

Seriously, this is hilarious

What I'd watch would be F1, JGTC, IMSA, WRC, Champ Cars, or basically everything except oval racing. Unfortunately, 99% of the time, NASCAR and IRL's on the TV.

My favorite by far to watch is the Speed World Challenge GT and Touring Car series. But I almost never catch that. SCCA, Trans-Am, Grand-Am, NHRA, ALMS, some off-road racing and WRC are some other favorites. Basically anything on a course with left and right turns. I don't watch NASCRAP, F1, IRL, Cart or any other open-wheel racing.

I only catch alms and occasionally an f1 race. No speed vision here and I don't watch nascrap unless they are at watkins glen or road america.

watch NASCAR 100% and stumble across IRL, used to have Speed Channel and now i dont, **** i love that channel. used to watch a lot of SCCA and WRC when i had the channel, man!

I still watch F1 live on SpeedChannel, I've been watching it live for 18 years now. However, I tend to miss a race or two here and there, and now it's no big deal. The nice thing about the early morning races is that nothing else intrudes on my time at 9am in the morning. My wife watches it live with me, too...so life is good enough to me!

I'll watch a little bit of anything non-NASCAR on Speed nowadays, especially the historic racing or the Legends of Motorsport. Tin tops, prototypes, a little bit of everything. but I rarely watch a whole event. I'm not as enthusiastic about NASCAR anymore, I might watch part of a race here and there. It just seems so much more "artificial" now.

I used to get into watching WRC on Speed; it's traditionally on so late at night (11pm), but since taking the job at Lexus, I'm in bed by 10 on weekdays, so there's no time for it anymore.

Basically, I watch TV now as filler between two other things to do; like waiting to leave somewhere in 15 minutes, phone call on hold, etc. I don't have the time I used to, when I'd watch racing on TV of all stripes all day long.

Everything I happen to see on Eurosport. Oh, and I also watched some Rally Cross on a Swedish channel the other day.

I need to get the Viasat Motor channel available here in Sweden though. It contains live broadcast of F1, Nascar, GP 2, FIA GT Championship, A1 GP, IndyCar Series, STCC and other motorsport series such as Moto GP, Red Bull Air Race and Powerboat P1.

Don't get to watch much racing, since Speed is 90% NASCAR now! Before NASCAR took over, we had Rally, SuperV8Cars, Boat, Airplane racing and some European racing!:(

Don't blame NASCAR, blame Fox. They ruined that network, most NASCAR fans I talk to hate the amount of NASCAR stuff they have.

I only watch Formula 1 on the tele. I would watch WTCC but no one carries it here in the states (yeah, I'm looking at you NASCAR! ugh).

Go to a site called Justin.tv(no affiliation) normally someone is covering every major event except F1 and IRL which don't allow their live broadcasts to be streamed.

Although beware the commentary/chat may not be in english.

I'm here to help! :D For the V8s... head to v8supercars website and you can watch the v8s (live, yes LIVE) on there. A few of the non-Australian members do this because of the unavailability of coverage. Fia WTCC has live timing and might still have full video of the races available as well on their website. MotoGP... sign up for free timing and you do have to pay a subscriber fee for the video. DTM... has live timing and I don't know about live video at all (sorry), I have no idea if Super GT has this feature yet, and WRC... has WRC radio... BTCC... hmmmmm... no clue. I will say this though... justin.tv is good, but sometimes a little unreliable. BTW.. this was my 500th post! :sly: Yay!:sly::dopey::D
