Once you have the racing hard it will work. If not, check out the tuning thread and lower the max MPH and you'll be good.
I run my B-spec driver on Indy of the American Championship to win me money and get about 11k exp.
Forgot to finish my thought. I don't always win, but generally place 1st-3rd. This is with me watching TV or something and him driving himself. The driver I usually use is about 3/4 to the right in bar (so between room temp and hot).
I used a Ford NAscar for this b-spec event for indianapolis, 45 front wing 40 rear wing and maintaining the driver in the red all time. For the Laguna Seca race, I failed to win with the Nascar the first try and second attempt, it was close though, and went for a fully tuned Dodge viper AMS or something, 1000+ hp for about 1250kg and even if the front downforce was low, he managed to win by a few seconds.

It was pretty easy once I realized I could use Racing: Hard. I also increased downforce and adjusted Max Speed.
I won by 6 seconds on Indy and came second on Laguna Seca. I hate the 2J Race Car.
I restarted Laguna Seca and had 2J start on 9th place this time and I was first by 3rd lap and won by quite a bit.
