I have the EXACT same level drivers and the same is true for me. I can't win like the wind in my zonda....and historic race I have nothing to try with but a 69 Vette ragtop, which is maxed out but still....

What IS the best vehicle and level for like the wind or Historic, guys? I know a bunch of you bare past that point!

Finish 'Like the Wind' in A-Spec to get the Minolta Toyota 88 Race Car. Use it to destroy any opposition in the 'Like the Wind' B-Spec event. This will give you the Toyota Toyota 7 Race Car which you can use for the 'Historic Race Car Cup'.

Same for the pretty little Miuras on the Supercar and Lambo races. How the hell are they so fast, unless not based on real performance specs...??

I had one pushing me all the way in an A spec race the other day. Can't remember what I was driving, but it would have been the Zonda R or 750bhp Cobra... ie double to power

There is no way that a Ferrari 512BB or a Lamborghini Miura would handle like a modern day Supercar. I believe that many common sports cars would outperform either of these cars let alone a Zonda R.

Here is my strategy in B-spec so far:

mash 'overtake' command until driver takes first place
when in first place, increase pace on straights, decrease on hard corners
win race with 20 seconds gap

I wish I could, really. I am disabled, my hands are numb from nerve damage, as of 2 months ago! So A-Spec I can't play anymore. :(

Good thing I got some Forza 3 time in before getting hurt!

I'm sorry mate, that sucks, really...

In that case, having your B-Spec driver grind out some cash to buy a (used) race car would probably be the best option.
From what I gathered, the Chapparel 2J should be quite capable and appears in the used car lot every now and then.

Thanks man, I guess I'll go the used car route. YeAH, imagine you could not feel your hands at all. Try playing COD, or anything really, it's horrible, but maybe surgery will help! Until then I'm not giving up, at least there is a B-Spec!

That's the spirit!

Anyways, you might want to post a request in the trading subforum, I guess someone's bound to have a car that's capable of beating those races and might be willing to trade them.

Good luck to you 👍

Are you able to do your own A-Spec races while B-Spec Bob does his? Or do you have to sit and watch B-Spec's race?

Jerome

I love my B-Spec driver.

He is destroying the Formula GT at the moment, just finished Nurburgring after lapping every single one of them(have won the first three races with ease aswell) :D

Thought it was supposed to be harder than this though.

My first post btw, signed up like a year ago but never posted. So, hello! :sly:

My 2 B-Spec drivers :D

I'm kinda stuck at the Truck race at Daytona, but apparently I need a higher level for one of my B-Spec drivers. F. Alonso did 18 races and moved to level 5 before he got tired and so I made a 2nd driver. After clicking for about an hour L. Hamilton came up and he did about 7 races (took pic before that) and is level 4 now. Alonso was ready again an he was up to level 6 when I arrived at the Truck races, so I think there's no way you can win the Daytona race without skipping it first and level up some more.

I accidently skipped M. Gronholm before Hamilton popped up, but I will get him later I hope. Also saw B. Vettel and M. Vettel, some more Hamilton's (with wrong first name), M. Loeb, R. Gordon and some more.

Anyone who has done Indy 500 på B-Spec?

Just started it with my level 27-driver.
He's driving in my fully tuned Mazda 727B Stealth Car with theese settings:
Downforce: Max/Max
Transmission: 400km/h
Riding Height: -15/-15
And the dampers a bit harder

Is there any car better for this? That'll win easier?
Right now my driver pending in positions 3-6 with max pace! He will get tired very soon wich will **** this upp! And the other drivers are worse than him, they are levels 26, 24 and 24.
So, is that any better car or settings I can do to make it easier for him?

That's awesome! You have way more patience than me. I have Vettel, Alonso and Kobayashi, but none of them have the proper first initial. It took me long enough to just get those last names! I've also seen Schumacher, but I'm not a fan of his. Hamilton is my favourite, but I still haven't seen his name come up!

Does this work on all of B-spec. I'm at level 25 A-spec. Haven't even started B-spec yet. The good thing is I have just about every car I need to win most races. I gotta start doing B-spec. I'll leave endurance for last. I tried just one B-spec race with a civic type R. I kept on hitting 'overtake' but it wouldn't past the first place driver. So I quit and went back to A-spec.

Make sure to not buy all the upgrades for the cheaper cars. If you do so, even with the best tires, you will still spin out. I was having this problem on the NA-R Roadster event. Found out it's best to just upgrade the engine, exhaust, oil change, tires, and manifold for the beginner and amateur races. After taking off the turbo and a few other things, i demolished the field.

As for managing the driver... I found that you have to monitor the bar instead of walking away, like most people want to do. And the following is from my personal experience:
  • Further in the red, the faster/quicker the pace, but he is liable to make mistakes.
  • Further in the blue, the slower the driver is, and the least likely he will make mistakes.
  • If you keep it in the middle, I've found this to be a perfect balance.

Hope this helps! :)

Thanks. I think my driver (level 7) has learnt the hard way, as I have been letting him use my fully tuned MP4 12C! I started B spec when I was at level 21 on A spec, so I have some pretty handy cars for him.

But your right, he was setting a 1.10 something on Tscuba with the 12C and now getting a 1.08 on the same track with a part tuned Acura NSX 97.

I think you're right about these things. Although you can walk away and leave it, if you feel comfortable with your guys slowest pace. I'm happy pushing my driver well into the red, he seems alright. Thinks he would be well siuted to drifting, he's got really good control in the slides when hes in the red and his physical strength is going down.

Looks like it can all become quite tight though at the higher levels. I'm winning by about a third of a lap just now!

My 2 B-Spec drivers :D

That's awesome!

I'm just about to create my 6th driver now, and I accidentily clicked past J.Bauer :(

Would have been a perfect addition to M.Chandler, R.Hood, V.Rossi(very happy with that one), F.Kennedy and C.Love!

EDIT: G.Bush just popped up, went with that, so now I got two former US Presidents.

Is there a way to level more quickly in B-Spec..? Or do I have to do level x event 5 times until I get to level x. You get A-Spec points for completing licenses and special events, but in B-Spec there seems to be no other way to gain points other than normal races.

I wish I had a driver like Alonso!!! 18w/18r, mine would be more like 1w/18r!!! and the time you have to spend training and watching/controlling the driver you could be doing your own races in A-Spec.

"BOB" from GT4 was a money earner and you could speed up the race and didn't have to be holding his hand for the entire race.

The AI drivers are stupid and B-spec mode is the same (IMO)

I sbsolutely love b spec in fact my b spec is higher than my a spec, bob does quiet well and one of my most exiciting races weee in the nascar were all cars aré the same, managed to win the tournament by 5 points, if you know when exactly to give the over take comand Bob will drive like a pro, not to mention prize cars in b spec aré miles better

I beat the Daytona Truck race tonight in a fully modified Lightning. I lowered it all the way and increased the spring rate 10. I also increased the bumps +1 and swap bars +2. I set the camber to 1.5 front and back. I also put the front toe to .05. I tuned the transmission to 211, but closer to 200 could work. E.Cherry took the lead from the first lap and won with a 8 second lead, she could hit over 175mph on the straights. During this race she was level 8.

WTF is with this MORONIC AI on the American Championships at Daytona?

Race Modified ZR1: check
Moron who slows to 75 (yes, SEVENTY FIVE MPH) on the turns: check

soooooooooooo sick of this ****

I'm loving B-Spec mode and I have 4 drivers so far.
It would be great if we could race our B-Spec drivers against each other online.

I would b even better that after he's reached a certain level (the equivalent to 10k hours IRL) that he's now ready to compete against you. Sort of like creating your own Frankenstein.

Does anyone know if it's still possible to A-spec endurance race with the assistance of B-spec drivers. To me it's the best concept in GT4 enduros because it's closely replicate and simulate actual races.

@ Novice, How do you have a driver at level 22 after only 32 wins? Mine is only level 15, with 56 wins and I've won every race I'm high enough to enter.

After your B-Spec is high enough you can have additional drivers. They can then enter any event you can access, regardless of their own level. ex: lvl 1 B-Spec driver can enter your newly unlocked lvl 23 B-Spec race an earn mucho points.

Yeah, the endurance events are particularly good for leveling up low level drivers. You can just bring them out for a couple laps then re-pit and they will get the same experience as the other drivers. I went from level 0 to level 12 I think after 1 enduro.

Edit: Some cool names i've stumbled upon - P.Brock (Australian racing legend), and K.Kobayashi, I also missed an A.Senna
