America's Finest Supercar, GT's Finest One-Make Series #VFOS

The Viper Festival of Speed was one of Gran Turismo 2's iconic one-make races, and it was high time the influx of B-Spec (Offline) racing here at GTPlanet actually paid homage to this website's source material.


  • For the first season, there will be two classes battling for individual honors, one for the Viper RT/10, the other for the Viper GTS-R.
  • Everyone who enteres will be guaranteed one car in either class of their choosing, and the option to enter a car in the other class if it doesn't reach capacity.
  • You will be entering with your GTPlanet username, so we know who everyone is.
  • Each class will be limited to 18 Entries, which means the max grid size will be 36.
  • Depening on track, the individual classes will have separate races, to allow potential greater variety in track choices.
  • Split Races will feature Standing Starts, while Unified Races will feature Rolling Starts.
  • Each race will be preceded by a 20 Minute Qualifying session.
  • Points will be awarded to the top 10 finishers in each class, using the points system: 15-12-10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1.

The mod that these Vipers came from is the 90s GT Cars mod from Verde_msk.

Day 1: RT/10 Class
Day 2: GTS-R Class
(Each day has a session dedicated to race trim and qualifying trim.)

Round 1: Autumn Ring Mini
Split Race - 50 Laps - 63 KMs

Round 2: Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca
Unified Race - 67 Laps - 150 Miles

Round 3: Trial Mountain
Split Race - 30 Laps - 120 KMs

Round 4: "Côte d'Azur"
Split Race - 39 Laps - 130 KM

Round 5: Spa Francorchamps
Unified Race - 25 Laps - 175 KM

Round 6: High Speed Ring
Unified Race - 40 Laps - 100 Miles

Round 7: Grand Valley Speedway

I'm very interested in bringing Black Rose Racing Team into this. Time to bring out the BRRT Young Driver for a spin! @Kingofweasles you want to do this?
 
The opening picture isn't showing up, is that an issue for others, or is that just my computer acting up?

Regardless, can't go wrong with a Viper, much less a Viper series. Not to mention that the mix of split and unified races will make races varied and interesting, due to the clash (or lackthere of) of classes. I'm definitely interested, count me in.

Back when I was a kid, any car I saw that had racng stripes on it I would call it a Viper. :lol:

That reason is enough to keep me interested in this. Michelin Racing will be racing here. ARE YOUR BODIES PREPARED?! :lol:
 
Ahh the Viper. My proudest achievement of GT2, and all GTs really, is trading blows with this demon. Frustrating, but a good frustrating, as opposed to GT4 B-Spec.

I mean it's not great, it's Dank-ish. :lol: Glad you got a kick out of that.

Anyways, the Viper GTS-R in GT2 was the only one of the cars and liveries in question that had a number box, so that's why that's the only one that it has that option.
 
Alright, I think my sent form has all the correct bits filled out properly. The fact that you'll be creating all liveries is definitely interesting, but in the end the advantages are good enough (the series being able to start faster and such) to justify that choice.

Also, if my main color choice may be a bit confusing for you, do tell. I can send you the reference for that via PM...
