Ban the test track

hey race the same f1 cars, u will be neck and neck the whole race, drafting and stuff...i played against my cousin, he used his sister's F090/S and i used mine, and at the very end i drafted up to him and bumped him into the wall and won by .010

No, no, no - the Test Course is actually the best track in the game! You can have some of your most memorable races here. For example:

I was racing the Test Course in my F1 against the 787B, and I forgot to raise my auto settings, so I spent the race drafting and being drafted by the 787B.

In the end I lost by half a car length, but it was the most memorable race I've ever had.

how is that memorable? you lost for crying out loud. i would have quit that race as soon as i hit top speed and realised i wasnt winning.

ah well, im only 90.4 percent in gt3 but i dont have to worry about the test track anymore because i went round doing all the races with my escudo, giving it super slicks and taping down X.

Darfting is not an option in the game, its fairly realistic but not that realistic... You may think the car ahead is pulling you but let off the gas an see what happens... good try though

oh yeah ur right about that but it is pushing the wind out of the way for you, i mean u can hear it for gods sake, turn ur tv or stereo up or whatever and hear the difference between being right behind a car and being in open air.

In a sense, it is still drafting. Even though the other car may hit the rev-limiter, you're still catching up and passing them, aren't you?

So in a sense, it is still drafting.

In a true sense if you wanna believe it is drafting you are entitled to

When another car 'drafts' you and overtakes it creates a suction that boosts there speed and reduces yours, in the GT games your speed increases behind another car but on close overtaking the other cars speed does not appear to drop but apart from that GT3 is pretty acurate I think.

omg..
drafting reduces aerodynamic drag... cuz it creates a suction like liquid said
horsepower is required to overcome that drag..
if you take away the drag, wouldn't there be more HP devoted to the tires? (yes) So really, it's like getting a horsepower boost.. which is what makes you go a bit faster

*cough* Escudo *cough*

Test Track is actually the hardest one, because you need thinking and correct drafting time, or you are done.

Actually it was the TVR Tuscan Speed Six series, all the cars were equal, with drafting and it still bored me to tears, and i didnt even get the speed twelve.... i got the griffith 500.......

You could just skip the race of the series and then do it later separately, and you could've used the save trick to eventually get the Speed 12...it's quite simple, really.

Heh yeah that was the plan, save it after race 4 and just keep reloading (quiting the last race) untill i got the Speed 12, unfortunatly i spun out and screwed up card on the second last corner of the race and went from 1st to last, and therefore didnt get enough points to save, quit the race and still win the series, so i saved anyway and so far raced the TestTrack 6 time tryin to get the speed twelve.... woulda been easier just doin the serie's again:banghead:

Most races I did on the test track were complete slaughters, and therefore not that much fun. I did one series with the F094/H, however, and that was the only time I ever actually had a disadvantage on the test course. I only won by drafting the leader and pitting when he did, and passing him on the last lap (It was an R390 GT1)

Other than that, I just considered the test course a "break" during a series, as it wasn't nearly as demanding as the normal courses.

test track is requiring in beginner... (when u start aleast) take that little miata that u start otu with ya kno the 17000 one
put a stage 1 turbo and a muff with a flywheel no transmission nutin and race it its soooo hard u gotta stay at the very bottom of the track to keep ahead
and whoever said it should juz be a 20 mile straight i agree cept make sure there is certain settings u gotta have (so u cant do a wheelie anyways)

I did most races at the Test Course w/ my Zonda C12s. When I ran it in Like The Wind I lapped the field twice. The long races are boring but sometimes it can be fun w/ the shorter races.

I like the idea of drag races but I don't think they should get rid of the Test Track.... just make it shorter.

The test track's length is fine. If you made it shorter, it would be harder to hit a top speed.

Or

You could make it shorter, but put an option at the begining to start frontwards or backwards so that if you were really really anal about top speed, you could reach it.

It takes many restarts (technically one in four will be a speed 12) to get the speed twelve. I restarted maybe 20 times before I got my first speed 12... IN BRIGHT YELLOW... so it took me 15 more restarts until I finally got another (which was blue.)

They better not have this track in GT4 or i'm gonna spin.

I agree you may not know but there's a 15 lap Test course race in the GT3 all stars in the professional.I hate test course it's so big it takes at least 2.00.00 minutes to finish a lap.

Why do you think PD made such a track?
Do you think they don't know what the challenges were going to be for the course?

If one challenge is to not fall asleep, then so be it. Sure it's boring, but so is driving on some freeways. Some freeways are so boring that they scrape human road-kill off of them every day. At least in the game we are safe.

If we also get a long straight stretch, such as the Salt Flats, then that's great, too. That's an old request of mine.

I have learned a number of things while driving on the TC. Leave it be!

Cheers,

MasterGT

the test track races do nothing but force u to buy really expensive parts and maybe some gear ratio tuning. Its all about speed and drafting isnt really an issue... only in the F1 race. and not even that much in that one.
