saw the first two parts of the series last night, looks to be a good series. its got the saving private ryan feel to it and there are no doctors or laywers!

That show is the sole and only reason I have HBO! I like that series alot. It's about time they are airing it again, since there is NEVER anything worth while watching on my 8 F-ing channels of HBO that I have.

I thought band of brothers was a one shot, one season deal... I'll have to stay up a little later if it does come back on...

yep, doin a pretty good job.

one fault was when the C-47 dakotas were flying above the clouds, you could tell it was blue screened.

I can't wait for it to come back on. It's such a well done show. Who direct's it? Is it Spielberg and Hanks?[/QUOTE
Wow, old thread, ok anyway every episode of band of brothers is directed by a different person, Hanks and Spielly are the Ex. Producers.

Anyways I just finished watching this series and I loved it! It's got a little SPR feel to it, but after a while of watching it just goes away. There isn't super america patriotism like SPR was, so the story and fight scenes aren't disturbed with that much. After a while you connecting with the characters and unlike SPR you feel sad to see them go. Every character is unique and all the actors are crazy! There aren't any super A listers in this series so it doesn't take your attention away while your watching.

The fight scenes are just awesomely done. Authentic weapons and sounds as always. Insane character developement along the way too. This series covers the events of american troops from d-day to the Japenese surrender. Truly an epic journey I give it 👍 👍 👍 👍 👍 up. No war movie could compare to a 12 hour epic series.

I have it all on DVD, it's superb, worth owning.

Isn't star wars like $100, sounds like a good deal to me, for 10 episodes Vs, 3 movies.
My coworker had like $1,000 credit on the Amazon.com account, so he got my Star Wars set for me, cheap! I think it was like $25 - $30. Yesssssssssssss!

I love this series. It's not often I get worked up about TV, I generally prefer films, but they've done a really fab job with it.

Fave episode? Mine's Crossroads.

I don't know if when HBO will replay Band of Brothersw but I have seen it scheduled on History channel, but I don't know if it was the miniseries or a dicumentary about Easy Company.

I watched it on HBO and then decided to get the DVD. I love it. Every now and then I just have to stop and laugh because, hey that's Donnie Wahlberg of New Kids on the Block fame! He did a good job acting and I never caught his show Boomtown when it was on but wished I had.

Oh, and at least one episode was directed by Tom Hanks, maybe two. I do know the idea was that each episode was written and directed by someone different.

I recommend the DVD for the extra interviews with the still living members of Easy Company alone.

Yeah my dad has it on DVD aswell.

Great series.

"Glory Glory
what a hell of a way to die,
'Glory Glory
what a hell of a way to die,
'Glory Glory
what a hell of a way to die,
But we ain't gonna drop no more!"

Haven't watched it in ages and still remember that :D

Tom Hanks directed one episode, I think Spielberg did too, Hanks and Spielberg were both producers. They used a different director for each episode. I just started re-watching the series again today, I saw the first two episodes today.

The DVD is a must have imo, even without the extra's and interviews I rate this series very highly, but the interviews and documentaries on the bonus disk are well worth watching as well.

I'm sorry, which character is this Donnie Wahlberg? Gotta say, I'm hardly a 'New Kids On The Block' fan. Jefferson Airplane, maybe, or Credence Clearwater Revival. Did I miss something? :)

He's the guy that plays Carwood Lipton.

He's an excellent actor. I recommend "Diamond Men", if you haven't seen it. It was so good, I had to get a copy of it, after renting it. 👍

I just remember that he started a fire in a hotel here in Louisville, KY by lighting some Everclear and his stint in jail essentially ended the band's reign of terror. I rejoiced.

When I relaized that he was in Band of Brothers I couldn't believe it. He sucked musically but his acting is great.

That's what I was thinking too.

What's the goddamn hold up mister Sobel?!

This series is indeed pretty awesome. I have the DVD set, and should host a marathon Band of Brothers session one of these days. 👍

It's a marathon everytime I put in a season whatever DVD of a good TV show. :indiff: If I put in the "Band of Brothers" DVD in now, I can kiss the next couple of days, good bye. :D
