Rain is coming (again).

Lightning, rain, and Bairdo driving like a maniac. Go clearwater Ferrari! This race is turning into a classic!

I would have gone with rain tires if I was one of the top teams. It was bucketing down while they were putting the slicks on and only 10 minutes to go..

LMAO, "The Atmosphere is electric"

You don't say

Great race, absolutely mental. Bathhurst, 12 hours and with the ocnstint threat of rain AND all those cars. Complete madness. I'm so glad I've discovered this, will definately watch it from now on each year:tup:

That 2nd last storm was CRAZY.
Seeing the leaders doing 40km/h whilst the buzzbox's passed them across the top.
1987 Bathurst was the last time i saw rain that bad on the Mount

Yes that in car footage of Seton in the Skyline on slicks. 92 was pretty bad as well? Can't wait till there are highlights or something put up on YouTube, didn't get to see much of the race

I didn't get to see much of the race either. Barely any of it actually as the stream just refused to work for me. Atleast I could listen to RLM.

How many cars was there at the beginning of the race and how many finished?

I fell asleep with roughly 3.5 hours to go, damnit. :grumpy:

But there's something I'm not quite sure I get, perhaps some of you could enlighten me on this... why are the 911 and 458 both eligible to GT3 and GTE specs at the same time, and why are, for instance, the R8 and SLS, not?

Different cars.
There is a Ferrari 458 GT3 and a Ferrari 458 GTE (Same with Posche, Chevrolet etc). Whereas Audi only have the LMS Ultra, a GT3 spec car. They aren't to make a GTE car because they are putting their money into LMP1 in that area.
Mercedes SLS is a GT3 car also.

Here is some of my on board footage. Not from the 12 Hour but at the same meeting so its related to this thread i guess. Camera decides to turn off whenever it wants, so I didn't get any decent actual racing footage. Caught these 2 though. Never seen so much carnage in a race i've been involved in!

My god you were so lucky not to be involved in the first lap crash! And to not be caught up by the guy who rolled too!

Sure am, think I've used up all my luck for the year already!

Just to be sure, how many races did they have before the actual 12 Hour race? I know the night before I saw some race with a mix of old M3s and a Falcon to current Porsches.

Off the top of my head there was improved production, sports sedans, formula fords, and HQ Holdens
