Put down Tag Schwarz as a possiblity to replace Tristian Lovett at Williams please.

It is the name my brother has decided on for his BATracer account.

He said he'll make his GTP appearence soon. 👍

Edit: "Tag" has requested that if Tristan Lovett resigns from Williams for Season 6 that I take his place so he can race with Jess at Red Bull... if that is ok to make a last minute switch like that?

But I will find out from Tristan first on what his plans are.

Hi
I'm here now.
I think you all know who I am?
If not, I'm Jamez' brother.
Jess' boyfriend.
Some dude that lives in a house.
I sleep in a bed.
Yep.

Well... ciao

5th & 6th for Toyota at the Nürburgring:

Toyota seems to keep evolving in the private F1 series, after qualifying 9th & 12th, Toyota didn't seem too happy about it but the race soon turned up to be a wonderful result!

As Machiels' teammate, Dracker, starts 9th, he loses some places and falls back to 12th. But Machiels makes, as always, a blast start and drives in 8th just after 1 lap. Dracker keeps losing places during the first stint but is consistantly going faster, so does Machiels. After their first pitstop, both Toyota drivers are in 10th & 11th. They're just 5 seconds seperated from eatch other so they decide to bring teamwork forward and go together. Throughout the final stint, Dracker makes his way into fifth but Machiels is in 7th, being held by a Ferrari. He soon passes and he's in sixth. It's just 5 laps untill the end as the teamboss tells them to play it save. Dracker finishes 5th, Machiels 6th. A great result for both drivers, they are now in8th & 9th in the drivers championship and Toyota moves up to 5th in the constructor championship. As a desert, Toyota's been giving an engine upgrade, which means better performance.

Machiels is already leading the Spanish practice session...

"Driver's are acting like kids, its a disgrace to the sport" - Jef Beyens

Ahead of todays German Grand Prix, Renault driver Jef Beyens has commented and criticised his fellow racers for their childish behavior. Beyens, who is currently forth in the race for the championship feels that drivers ought to give their mouths a rest.

"It's disheartening to see drivers attacking each other in a war of words in the nations press. It's all well and good running your mouth off, but perhaps these guys should let their driving do the talk, because driving is supposedly what they are best at which is why they are here."

Beyens was not at the warmup session, as he was over in England visiting friend Richard Hammond in hospital and sending over drivers and teams wishes for a speedy recovery. His comments where made as soon as he arrived at the circuit early this morning and was filled in on up-to-date events.

"If they want to argue, fine! It's not gonna distract me from doing my job on the track, and if they want to have an inpromptu destruction derby on the track that'll just make my job easier. Being good friends with both Lee and Blake, I'm neutral on the situation but for Lee to question a former champion's abilities on the track well... I hope he's ready to eat his words."

I know that Lee had a breif blow-up, but it was nothing too serious. I'm just trying to make things more lively in a manner less trivial than I am known for.

Yes, I know this, but it's nice if you have your facts straight first. He was the one who made the comment, not I.

Race Report Season 5: Hockenheim
Almost, but not Entirely, Like the Last Race

(this race report brought to you by http://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/The_Hitchhiker's_Guide_to_the_Galaxy)

There's two things that are certain by now: the answer to the life, the universe, and everything is 42, and the winner of the next race is going to be Bruno Domingues of Renault.

It never fails. It's his third win in a row and fifth this year. Clearly Renault is practically dominating this season.

Although it didn't seem like it at the start, when they let the field roll right over them (and suffered no damage), with both drivers dropping 10+ places.

As they clawed up the field Kawasie decided to suddenly morph into a whale (not to mention a bowl of petunias) and dropped 9 places in the course of 4 laps. But aside from that the begininng of the race was surprisingly enough, mostly harmless.

Lap 15 saw the first bobble as Horton's front wing wandered off to go get lost for 500 million years, and since the Honda team didn't have that much time to spare they were forced to call Horton in from 5th for a replacement wing.

One lap later Beyens' car began turning into a penguin (which was, strangely enough, a bad thing), which hampered his lap times and sank his chances at a double-points finish for the Renault.

Pit stops went round and round until lap 26, when suddenly P3 through P6 got bulldozed to make way for a bypass, forcing Hutchinson (McLaren) and Shepherd (Aguri) out of the race, while Domingues and Allman spun and lost time.

The safety car came out and pitstops happened, with Graham losing out with a 17-second stop.

And then it went away on lap 32 with Chang leading Dubois and 2 Ferraris to the flag, and insanity continued, with LeSabre and Charkaoui getting together, although no damage was caused.

Meanwhile Butler in the Red Bull was calculating his probabilty of surviving this race, which turned out to be zero. At precisely this moment Graham smashed into him, disabling the Red Bull, and carried on.

On lap 45 Davidson hurled himself at the gap on the inside of Charkaoui and missed, spinning both cars. At this point the Ferrari crew was almost, if not completely frustrated at the fact that they had no cars in the top 8. Shocking.

4 laps later the 5th gear in Graham's car grew depressed and committed suicide, forcing the Toyota to the pits for a replacement.

Lap 54 saw more technical errors, with Lesabre's suspension and Charkaoui's fuel system working in the same manner that Red Bull scores points. That is, they don't. So the two cars were slowed in their progress up the field, which was debatable anyway.

Lap 60 saw the big move of the day, with Domingues getting around the outside of Dubois for the lead, finally completing the Renault's driver ascension up the field from the back. It's what the racing world has finally discovered - Domingues is roughly thirty billion times faster than anybody else. Think of a number, any number.

You're wrong. (by the way, the number represented his lap time, if you want to get technical)

And then on lap 62 Charakoui's transmission discovered it was a sofa and the Honda promptly retired.

And so, with that, Domingues ended up not going where he intended to go, but ending up where he intended to be: on the top spot of the podium

Dubois and Chang took the other podium spots.

The rest of the points were Weiland, Mason, Horton, Allman, and Kawasie.

Overall, it was obviously a pretty good race for Renault, and Toyota and Midland were pleased to score some points.

Ferrari had a pretty poor race by their standards but it was chalked up to them 'never getting the hang of Thursdays.'

But still, it was another 10 points for Domingues, and 0 for Davidson. By now Dubois has jumped into 2nd in the championship standings.

For now, though, it looks like Domingues walking away with the championship, and saying thanks for all the fish.

Give me any car in the big 3 (McLaren, Renault or Ferrari) and I'll show you guys what a real domination looks like. Maybe one just one day I'll drive a decent car for GTP Batracer. Until then I'll make this mid field performer challenge the big 3 race after race...and smoke most of them

Care to explain what you were doing out on the track then? If you want a job as a bulldoser driver then you're in the wrong business.

"If they want to argue, fine! It's not gonna distract me from doing my job on the track, and if they want to have an inprompt destruction derby on the track that'll just make my job easier."

But it's ok for you to do it?!

👎

Tune down the aggression Beyens, and stop talking with your mouth-full.

BACK ON TRACK: Part 2

Sitting in the McLaren garage you can feel that the prevailing mood is tranquil. Blake sits in the car without helmet or balaclava, his eyes absorbing every detail, looking for ways to improve or adjust.

Ron Dennis leans over, hands him the much criticised steering wheel. Blake seizes it with both hands, assessing every millimetre. A couple of tiny bits of padding where his thumbs rest have to come off before he slots onto the track. Turn the wheel left, right. Does it feel ok? Does it look ok?

Gloves on. Quick, precise. He grabs the wheel again. It's plain that there's more than systematic checking. His eyes are glistening. He's having fun - in a McLaren garage. Now there's something.

THERE'S NO doubt, Blake looks genuinely chuffed about being at McLaren. And why shouldn't he? They're a fantastically well-run team, from the top down. Blake isn't stupid. He beleives in his new team, and he'll no doubt have some quantifiable measure to back it up.

McLaren are good - very good. Fact. But that alone doesn't explain why Blake is there. In fact, it's far easier to come up with reasons for Blake not to be at McLaren. A clash of personalities and goals, for a start. Think about it...

Personality: Both are reportedly notoriously stubborn and prone to erratic mood swings. Salt of the earth on the right day. Tabasco on the wrong one.

Goals: The former world champion with a point to prove - to himself, the paddock, and the world (not necessarily in that order) joins the slowly progressing bottom-of-the-top team whose unofficial mission statement is that in F1 it isn't necessary to win. Not a partnership you'd naturaly stick in your fanatasy F1 line-up is it?

So why is Blake at McLaren?

Well, on one level he's there because he was dumped by Honda and because no one else wanted him. He's had talks with other teams in Season 5. Some didn't call him back, so he says, and others just fizzled out. But this is a chain of events, not a reason.

To find a reason you need two things: motive and intent. Both are simple so far as Blake is concerned. Two-year project? Motive: "I liked what I saw." Intent: "If we go forward together, I want to stay here. I think we can achieve something."

As he speaks, his intonation changes, moving from high to low in that rising-inflection only-Australian kind of way, as if he's embarrassed to say it. Here's a man, a former champion, who hasn't been taken seriously for a bad few seasons now. And at some level, and in an oddly insecure way for a man so ostensibly brash, he beleives he should be.

And maybe he's right. Hands up who thinks he should be. See, you're not so sure now are you?

In a recent conversation with Willaims (mysteriously disapeared) number 2 Tristan Lovett... he explains how he wont be holding on to his seat in BATracer next season:

Jamez says:
Are you looking to keep your Williams seat in BATracer next season? I know that Dubois wasn't too happy with you

Tristan says:
hey, he had ample opportunity to contact me

Jamez says:
very true. i gave him details as well

Tristan says:
but I am going to say no, count me out for the next season, as I am still not 100% sure whats going on

Jamez says:
ok, that makes things easier for me... because my brother wants in, and feels uncomfortable in a team that he doesn't know - so im going to swap seats with him and take your williams seat next season... if Lee lets me?

Tristan says:
no worries mate

Tristan says:
I do apologise once again

Jamez says:
thanks for clearing it up, i'll let them all know your intentions, just to save face with Dubois

Tristan says:
bah, my face is already soiled

So on this note, is it possible for me to take the Williams seat next season, and replace my seat at Red Bull with Tag Schwarz? Lee?

wtf is that bullshiat? I added the guy to my msn, sent him an email and he says I had plenty of opportunities to contact him...

Get a clue or something...geez

Side note

Williams confirmed today the contract extension of driver Guillaume Dubois who will be in it's 3rd year with the team.

Williams confirmed today the contract extension of driver Guillaume Dubois who will be in his 3rd year with the team.

And with that, I'd like to cancel my contract with Red Bull Racing and take on the challange of Guillaume Dubois' number two at Williams in S6.

All three other concerned parties (Jessica Weiland, Tag Schwarz, and Guillaume Dubois) have agreed that this move will be a great prospect for WilliamsF1 and myself.

The new line-up for both teams now will be:

WilliamsF1:
Driver 1: Guillaume Dubois
Driver 2: Jamez Shepherd

Red Bull Racing:
Driver 1: Jessica Weiland
Driver 2: Tag Schwarz

Quotes:

Red Bull Racing
It's unfortunate to let a driver of Jamez' caliber leave the team - especially when he hasn't even walked in the door yet, but we have full confidence in his decision to move to WilliamsF1, and his top choice replacement being his younger brother. Tag has alot to learn in a short period of time, but while finishing his contract at Super Aguri, Jamez has put forward a proposal to hire Schwarz as a Friday Test runner.

Both Tag and Jessica have a very close relationship and know each other well. We should expect them to work well together in S6 here at RBR. If S5 is anythinng to go by, we have the confidence to say that Jessica is a hard worker, and her extra years experience will push her new team mate hard.

WilliamsF1
We are very pleased to announce our final driver line-up for Season 6. Guillaume has 2 years experience with us and has a great relationship with the team. Jamez is only new, but has already proved that he's a rising star in need of a good car. His ability as a team player is unmatchable, and his professionalism second-to-none.

Guillaume Dubois
Sounds good to me, I know he won't **** in my hands like this seasons team mate, that's for sure. I always run every single session - no excuse - and I expect to get the same implication and dedication from my teammate.

Looking forward to a great team with Williams in Season 6

Rise of the Toyotas:

It's confirmed, Toyota runs along with the top teams in the private F1 series. In the qualifying session of Barcelona, 2nd driver Dracker qualified 4th and first driver Machiels qualified 6th. These results are thanks to an outstanding teamwork. After the qualifying round, Machiels, Dracker and the engineers cathered around the table and talked about further setups. Toyota comes out with big smiles on their face next day in the warm-up session, it soon comes up why. Both Toyota drivers ran an awesomely fast lap. Both drivers are also on top of the list in the warm-up session. Machiels drove his fastest lap only 0.042 seconds slower then his teammate's fastest lap, Dracker. In third is the Renault, but on 0.4 seconds behind. Both Toyota drivers are looking forward to the race tomorrow.

Heh, 6th. That's actually not too bad for a whole second off pace ><

*applauds Renault's lack of qualifying* It'd be better, except Domingues seems to have done really well from the back of the grid this season.

Aguri's 1st and 3rd - would like to see if they really can pull a win instead of just picking points here and there, best start they've had all season.

I suppose you're having fun in 11th Bee - forget to practice? (i mean uh, comeback who? :P)

Surprised to see (appie's?) Honda up in the front, not surprised to see 2 Toyotas in the back.

A very weak qualifying effort overall - only 10 people practiced? We'll see how this affects the race...

Wow! OM*G!! Jess got Pole! Hahahaha... we all got beaten by a girl... the girl who didn't work out to use Soft's in Practice Until her 4th run... the girl that bearly made an impression in Practice... on Pole!!! Hahahaha - what's the bet the Aguri crew will stuff it up

Well, 3rd for me ain't too bad, I'd have prefered to be up further... but as long as I can stay out of trouble, I think I can finish on the podium, who knows, maybe both of us can???

Sigh we felt sorry for you guys is all, after all your being payed in bottle caps and shoe laces down there at Aguri. :p

Sigh we felt sorry for you guys is all, after all your being payed in bottle caps and show laces down there at Aguri. :p

Shoe laces even?

But at least we're given A-Grade education :sly:

Don't you worry Lee, it might be all dosh'n'splosh in the Ferrari garage, but I'm not the one who was kicked from a top team!

Btw, what happened to your comeback? Maybe I should re-write my story! Hahaha

Edit: What's that you say? - Aguri, the slowest team with it's second pole, and the highest average qualifying?! - Yeh, qualifying might not mean anything on the points table... but imagine the damage I could do given a good race car :)

I expect to see the RBR's owning next season too. Tag has just won his first race starting from 9th in a private game, and he's on pole in malaysia by a whopping 0.768sec... in RBR.

Allman Announces Retirement

After almost 4 seasons of straight racing, Allman says he is planning on retiring after the next season.

"It's just not as exciting any more. I'm not enjoying it as much as I did when I first started my career, which is really the biggest downfall. It's always the same cars, the same people up front. There is almost no change in the series, and it just isn't competitive. If you get placed in a low-rank car, chances are, you're going nowhere fast. I've been lucky enough to ride with Ferrari for a season, and I'm planning on another, but I don't think I can take much more after that."

Allman said that his retirement will probably occur after Season 6, so he has 1 last chance to go for the gold at the championship. He said he really wishes he could have grabbed a Renault seat for his retiring season, but not everything works out the way we want. Many Ferrari fans, and his own independent fans, are shocked and dismayed by this sad news. Jarrett said that his final season will be dubbed by his fans as "Allman's Last Call."
