Scuderia Toro Rosso in "Strange Goings on"
Monza GP Race Day. As the searing heat outside threatened to exhaust all but the strongest of people, the Scuderia Toro Rosso drivers Simon Trendell and Danny Graham had one thing on their mind- hit em fast and hit em hard. The qualifying session was disappointing for STR, as both cars failed to qualify- the only cars to do so.
The race began excellently, with Trendell and Graham overtaking a combined total of 10 cars on the first lap. By lap 9, Graham was running at P10, and Trendell at P13.
Both car ran well until Graham made a driver error on lap 30. Graham lost time and track position following a driver error, but wasn't disheartened. Then, after a few unplanned pitstops, Trendell had clutch problems and another emergency pit stop was taken.
By the finish, both STR cars were back to the last two positions after a string of bad luck, which just goes to show that all the heart and skill in the world counts for nothing if lady lucks is against you.
However, the STR cars were ranked number 1 and 2 on the overtakes tables, to show just how much effort was put into the race campaign.
