If you don't get picked then obviously you've done something to somebody in the past, eg, gone AWOL, and they don't trust you, so you don't really deserve to be there to ruin somebodies season.

This is exactly what we are trying to fix. If it was all just for fun and nobody really cared we wouldn't have people complaining when their team mate goes AWOL.

If you go AWOL you wont get picked, plain and simple. If you wanted to get picked you should've thought twice about disappearing on your team mate last time.

I really don't see what you have to worry about Bruno, you're a seasoned champion, I'd pick you in my team any day!

The only people, in this season for example, that would have to worry about whether they would be an option to be picked would be Metar Heller Algazi, who seems commited enough to not have to worry, and perhaps Duncan Hutchison because of his contiversial on-off Ferrari AWOL'ness for pretty much 2 seasons on the hop.

Everyone else shows up for each session, that's all we ask.

I can guarantee that if we used this system, we wouldn't see people like Dylan or Matt Keller back in a hurry.

The more active players there are, the merrier it will be for all. If it means we have to 'unfairly' weed out the slackers, then so be it.

Edit: Ok, how about this for an extra rule.

*People who finish in the bottom half of the field must be a first choice for team leaders, unless that person states that they do not wish to compete further.

or

*People who finish in the bottom half of the field must state whether they wish to continue for the next season by 48hrs after the season has finished, either in Driver Chat or on the GTP BATracer Thread. When the 48hr deadline is reached, a list of all players wishing to continue will be posted on the GTP BATracer Thread for Team Leaders to choose from. If you fail to inform everyone of your wishes to continue by the 48hr deadline, you will not be competing (unless there are not enough drivers to fill seats, or somebody pulls out before the season starts).

Team Leaders must choose from these drivers before deciding on an 'outsider'. Team Leaders cannot state their choice until the 48hrs is up. This should give players enough time to discuss 'contracts' with teams for the next season.

Anybody who doesn't make the final cut will be put in a waiting list as Back Up Drivers to fill possible AWOL's.

Join me up for Toyota again next season. If you don't like how it's run now then just leave. It's fine, not serious, as Lee says, it's just for fun.
 
Never AWOL? So you just forgot to setup your car for 3 races in a row 2 seasons ago? Or did you guess? :lol: And when was the last time your teamie won? 4 seasons ago?

Casio: Well obviously it's a problem to more people than just me. I'm not the one with an AWOL teammie, so I don't know what's it's like... but I'm sure as hell going to do everything in my power to make sure it doesn't happen.

Jef has complained, Gulliame is ropeable, Laura nearly fell of the edge of the earth when she miss read a post and thought I was going AWOL, Appie bitched on for days about Chris disappearing. Are you going to tell all of them to leave too? Don't be rediculous. The lottery only works if everyone is going to stay loyal till the end of the season. It used to work great, now it's starting to fail. We need to update and evolve. If you want to be a caveman then so be it, personally I want flying cars! :lol:

Hahahahaha!~ Ok settle down. I only said that you wouldn't be my first choice, and obviously I was never informed that you weren't being looked after, I was under the impression that you went AWOL, as were a few other people.

Dunc has never really been AWOL, if he's had business to attend to he usually gets someone to fill in his place. Usually.

I went AWOL for 2 races back in season 9 I think.

I want to start an F1 '86 season, and I want a team mate that won't do a Chelsie Brett on me.

I'd only recommend it if you get either the Williams, Ferrari, McLaren or Lotus.

You havent a hope with anything else.
 
Don't rule us out yet.

I've scored podiums in Osella, AGS and Zakspeed's before... and not with the help of the weather either. In fact the bad weather cost me a win in the Zakspeed at Silverstone. 👎

As long as you think so. I'm only going be what I would decide to do. Nothing against Dunc at all, I quite like the guy, but he wouldn't be my first choice of team mate for a GTP season.

lol way to go to get rid of a regular player. Dunc's a good teamy from experience, I just think he likes to monopolise the top drives (and then not win the championship. lol) :P
 
I think our friend Gingiba is not as new to BATracer as he says he is! :odd:

He's been saying some pretty random stuff that not many newbies pick up on so quickly. And after chatting with a few of his old public teamies, they also think that he knows far too much for a newbie.

Anyone feel like buying me KT? No? Crap! Seriously, 17 or something drivers are KT'ers, I'm nearly the only non-KT up high in the rankings of our season!

I've joined the exact date my account shows. Didn't race a day earlier. Danny introduced me to BATracer, and gave me a crash-course in BATracing. Got the hang of setting up due to need - I had to survive my first 4 BATracing days without an active teammie.

Bram and Danny gave me some strategies, and the rest I figured out myself. I reckon the ranking comes from doing two wins in a row with an Aston LMES, a win in an Aguri, and pretty good results otherwise? The thing with setup-converter incorrectness was after I compared the results of MY converter to the one KT users get. I noticed a slight difference...

Actually, I was quite surprised to see myself rank that high - quite frankly, I'm not that good.


And Jamez, would you mind explaining the Stu Harris thing? I'm Metar Heller-Algazi. That's my real name, I can scan my newly-printed (and wrong) ID-card. I joined on the 28th of April. Would you mind naming a few teammies with which you chatted? Try Kalle Laine, Simon Wilkins, or Greg Nova - they're in the F1 2007 I joined in an Aguri when I started playing. If you want a place where I do badly, holler up Paul Kirby, ask him about my Champcar season. Absolutely terrible, tyre-explosions, bad races, everything. Or my BTCC teammies.

And if you're asking about the early purchase of KT, I just had enough for one, it seemed reasonable cheap (especially with the currect NIS --> Dollar ratios), and the game is interesting enough to be worth it.
