Hmmm ... hoping a public F1 1986 game comes into rotation shortly. I've never had the opportunity to play one because everything goes really fast. I even went so far as to make a private '86 game, if anyone wants to join. There's no password, and the game ID is 28305.

In the same vein of User Created games, I'm thinking of creating a game using the V8 Supercars 2006 carset soon and asking the entrants use the names of the competitors from the 2006 V8 Supercars season. :)

Maybe I'll do it later this week.:D

Ah, yes, it was pretty awesome. Sharky did something similar, but that's unimportant. Important is, I won a race, in the wet, and perfectly. :P

Hey! New bars!

Hey! My car sucks!

It's reliability, by the way. I'm not sure if that's just 'likelihood to finish' or 'likelihood to consistently do good' but either way it explains my season a lot...

EDIT: Quick! GTP-rush LMP2 in the current Le Mans public! (28385) Why? Because I'm bored, there's only three people so far, and I feel like an idiot joining to see the black reliability bars, just to realize they don't show up for this series. :dunce:

Ah, you're toast. There's two of Phoenix' LMP2 experts on board - Daz Lil and Andrew Roden. The latter is very, very quick, at least in LMES.

Also, guys, one of my best efforts so far: 3rd in a Renault.

Look at the MG in Touring. I'm in one, and with two races left in the season, I'm second. Probably mostly due to its black bar. :P

When I did my Porker GT season, he was in a BMW with Kumhos. And still blitzed the field when it was DRY. :indiff:

Kumhos = amazing in wet, very average in dry. Trust me, I tried them with a LMP2 Zytek once (5 poles, but...) :|

Trust me, because I just finished 2nd in the championship in these, just behind... My teammate. I lead almost the whole season, but a first-lap crash at Le Mans killed it for me. We won every wet race by a huge margin, and only one of the dry races.

Kumho Intermediates are the best of the field - in the changing conditions at Le Mans, we put a solid second per lap on everyone in the field. Dry performance was average, and the Wets aren't that good - but the Inters are fantastic. I'm taking Yokos next time, though - LMES isn't wet enough to warrant Kumhos.

One-two seconds per lap, but too bad I had 450 seconds to make up for that pit-for-repairs, never mind 46 other drivers in my way...

Speaking of LMES, I have an absolute idiot for a team-mate. I was forced to fire my original partner early in the season when he swung by and did one or two runs before disappearing and he never used any of my setup data and I got this new guy. He's pretty reliable, but the problem is that I'm about to lose my internet connection because I'm going home. I told all of my team-mates and most of my games are about to end with the standings pretty much already decided, so none of them are moving to fire me, except for this LMES game. No, it hasn't been the greatest season ever: my original team-mate hurt our chances because he never did anything, and the Dallara chassis was never the best choice. The problem is that rather than fire me and lose my drive, he'd rather just let me be in a carset that you really suffer in if your team-mate is unreliable and I'll re-join the game later when I have an actual connection. So when I get back, we're going to have a dud season because we won't have scored any points and everything will be for nothing. I've told him it's in his interests to sack me, and I've told him that if he does I'll vote myself off the team ... but he just doesn't listen! He's a newcomer to the LMES carset and I consider myself to be a bit of an LMES specialist because it's the carset I've had the most success in. Sure, my WR will take a hit for being fired, but I wouldn't be doing this if I didn't think my team-mate would benefit from it.

Wait, so if Kumhos were good for intermediate conditions, what about the other ones? I think Goodyear was the best in wetter conditions (which is why I took it + WWW), and Yokohamas are better all-round according to what you said? Then what's Firestone? >_>

And hey, did Jules change something with LMES? You have a lot more variety in how many stops you can make now (5-12 for the 12h at Sebring). I think this makes the soft tires even more useless, unless you can really make them last. <_<

Don't tell folks to sack you, or your WR plummets... It's better to finish a season dead-last than to be sacked.
I suppose so ... I just got a phone call the other day saying "Jason, when you get home, we won't have an internet connection for a few days". I felt it was in the interets of my team-mate to get a new partner than stick with someone who won't be able to do his runs. My WR has already taken a 600-place beating, and while I can always gain the places back, I don't much care for it. I know I'm ranked in the 1200s, even if my WR says otherwise. If they lifted the "one LMES game per player" rule, this would be much easier. I love my LMES, but get very frustrated when I get a bum season. I'm not backing out because I'm experinecing that, though. I'll stick by a team-mate even when the only thing I get is retirements because he or she may be able to compete for placings and will need all the help I can get. I just have to remember to go for an R8 or Speed 8 chassis next time, or stick to the C65 in LMP2.

There was a "bug" where you could make (multiple) pitstops on lap 1, thereby reducing the number of pitstops you actually had to make.

Not at all.

I won a race using softs (of course, I had to make one pitstop more than the hard guys, but).

I also finished second at Le Mans on 15 stop + softs in the Aston.

Question: so that I know for the future, what's a good combination of chassis, engine and tyres for the LMP1 class. After my disaster with the Dallara, I'm thinking I should run an R8 chassis next time, or maybe the Pescarolo, but I don't know much about how good tyres are; I usualy ust go with Dunlop or Michelin.

Well guys, I will no longer be participating in any Batracer games. I've just had enough of never finishing better then tenth and always finishing worse then eighteenth. In turn, I have no podiums and due to never finishing on the podium, I will never be able to take part in anything else or will rank any better with zero wins so I'm quitting as soon as the seasons end. I just can't stand any longer not being the one in control of my own car and always crashing out or doing poorly all while the only way to do any good (or hope to) is by Moving slides. It has not been fun at all. If I can't at least muster a Top ten finish, then theres no point for me to compete. Same thing here on GTP in the Long Race series or WRS, If I don't muster at least a top ten finish, there's no point for me to continue. Sorry about this, but I just pull my hair out trying to find what I'm doing wrong, even when its with the setup my teammates give me and its no longer worth it. I don't see how you guys do it, but then again I don't have nor can I afford this "Kool Tools" stuff either.

It's sad to see you go, RACECAR. I know what it feels like; I've been very frustrated with the game before (like a 2008 McLaren only scoring a single point in six races when in every other F1 game I've played, they've done well), especially when someone else collides with you and keeps going while you're out of the race. I won't say buying KT will revolutionise the game; it only really expands it. It gives you more of the same, and while it adds some extra stuff, it doesn't change the gameplay. If you don't like the game as is, odds are that buying KT will just be a waste of money.

And to add insult to injury, You can't stop it. Thats the one thing that's bugged me is that you can't control not one bit of what happens. You can have the perfect set-up and all it takes is a "driver error" not of your own doing or a crash thats out of your control and your race is done in a instant.

No need for that since I can't afford it. Actually, I'm kinda gonna miss doing the series with you guys. I most definately won't forget the GTP season 18 with people constintly changing to hilarious names. If anything, that one series actually lightened me up despite my luck. However, I will be seeing you guys Online(and hopefully, this time I mean it) on F1CE or GT5P.

In the "old LMES", pre-change, Softs were bloody useless - and I know, because I could win-on-demand. In the new LMES, it's a scary new thing, where Softs are sometimes fast, and stopping one more time can suddenly be faster.

In ye olde days of Lazycat domination, stopping an extra stop, no matter how planned, was as effective as leaving oil on the track and slipping on it. Now, I've lost races because I stopped the traditional 2, and others did a radical three- or four-stopper, and got away with it (sans safety-cars).

R8 & Bentley < Pescarolo < Other LMP1s < LMP2 < GTS < GT < Lister. :)

Seriously, though - do GTS and GT as much as possible before LMP1. Seems much easier.

Oi, I confirmed that for you months ago!

Maybe Rollcentre-Lazycat Engineering will one day reunite. :)

Yeah, I've had a crack at GT before ... in my most recent one I was doing quite well and even leading in the first half of the eason until Vito came from nowhere and stole the championship ...

Anyway, I'll keep that in mind for my next LMP game. I'm assuming from the way you didn't comment on tyres that the Dunlops and Michelins aren't bad choices.

Sorry to see you go RACECAR. Add me to messenger, perhaps we can talk about your strategies and sliders to help you improve. Who knows, maybe I can even sort you out with kool tools. ;)

First rule of LMES: Never race against Vito. He'll lurk in 3rd-4th for half a season, then pull a winning streak. Or, you know, just dominate the whole season. ;)
I learned that the hard way. I also learned that the solution is to either 1) race in a different class, 2) join his team or 3) wait for another LMES game to start up, preferably on that he's not in.

So did I. Had terrible luck that season...
Yes, fourth place and 490-odd points. Terrible luck; worse than landing Ferrari, McLaren and BMW-Sauber drives but never qualifying higher than fifteenth and scoring just one point in five races like me.
Metar
That's what I do. Plus, he's in my clan, so we're spreading out to cover more championships. :P
Yeah, well he's not in mine and I'm thinking yours is invite-only, but I might be wrong. Nothing against the people in invite-only clans - I raced with Carter from the Batracer Elite in an F1 2002 game and he was the nicest team-mate I've ever had - but if ever I was given an invite, I'd decline politely; they strike me as being more concerned with maintaining their clan's rank than actually having a clan. Even if it's not invite-only, I'm still thinking my crappy 18xx WR and aysmal sacking record - I'm on the list of most-sacked players because of my aforementioned loss of connection for a week - isn't going to be atractive to your clan. Even my former ranking of 12xx wouldn't be enough.

Also, one time I was doing LMP2 and he was in GT and still beat me. But again I had a bum team-mate; I went through three that season.
Metar
Won't work, see first point.
He's not made of luck.
Metar
Reduntant, see second point. :P
So we just roll over and let Vito win? Maybe I'd be able to put up a fight in one race if I knew which brand of tyres to use on my car ...
