ITV Exclusive: Interview With Lee Davidson:
ITV: Thank you for joining us Lee, so here we are at Monza, how are you feeling ahead of the weekend?
Davidson: No problem, yeah the weather is fantastic, I'm pretty laid back, I think it's pretty safe to say I won be winning the championship now so I feel I just want to repay the team's effort with one more win before I depart.
ITV: Will it be an emotional departure?
Davidson: Yes, I have managed to get to know alot of people in the team after they gave me a chance in S1, I'm now coming up to the end of my 3rd season with them and we have gone through good times and, admittably, bad ones but none the less, if it wern't for them I wouldn't be here right now so I thank them.
ITV: But being replaced by Blake Haswell, must be nice to know your seat will be in good hands?
Davidson: (Laughs) Yes! Honda have made a great signing there I'm sure and it will be interesting to run wheel to wheel with him next season.
ITV: McLaren finally won their first race last week at Turkey, must have set a few fears at rest?
Davidson: Oh yeah deffinatley, Ash had a fantastic drive and I can see why Ferrari wanted him, it's good to see the McLaren is now up to pace but right now I'm just focusing on beating them seeing as they are starting to threat Honda's championship position.
ITV: The public rivalry with Blake Haswell has seemed to simmered a bit, have you two held any talks?
Davidson: I've always respected Blake, yes I have questioned his tactics from time to time but the rivalry as some people say is nothing more than some friendly competition. As for Germany, I have already apologised and have took full responsability.
ITV: You've had a massive crash here in winter testing before, has it slowed you down at all?
Davidson: No, when your at this level you can't let fear hold you back, yes the crash was a high speed one but it looked alot worse than what it actually was, I suffered a slight concussion but I've had worse. I can still take to the track to the max.
ITV: So finally, what are you hoping for from this weekend's race?
Davidson: Just to be competitive, admittibly we haven't got the fastest car in a straight line so a points finish will be a good finish, podium will probably be pushing it.
