Hotel Bust-up between drivers, as tempers boil over
Confirmed reports have recently started coming to the attention of the F.I.A, after a fight broke out at a China hotel between two drivers.
Witnesses at the incident claim that Red Bull driver and soon to join Ferrari protege, Chris Taylor, was attacked in the hotel lobby by Renault driver Jef Beyens.
One witness had this to say:
"Many of us saw that Mr Taylor was walking through the lobby, as many of the drivers are staying at the hotel for the race weekend. We started to gather around him to get some pictures and autographs, when Jef Beyens suddenly ran through the hotel doors and attacked Mr Taylor, then and there."
It is understood that the attack was caused by the crash in which the two drivers collided when the Renault was making a manuvere to overtake and the RBR cut him off. The incident has certainly ruined Beyens' hopes of claiming the F1 crown for this season. When interviewed about the situation Beyens had the following to say:
"It's understandable that I am extremly annoyed about the situation. Here is a driver that is NOT in contention for the championship and who firstly wont let a faster car past, and secondly cuts me up to ruin my chances. I could've handled the situation more calmly, but my emotions were cooking. I have spoken with FIA officials straight after the race, and its up to them to decide courses of action."
At latest report, the FIA have determined that Taylor COULD see the Renault moving up inside him and deliberatly moved across, leading to a fine of £50,000. Although the exact figure is not known, it is said that Beyens' has been fined for considerably more for starting the hotel brawl. Furthermore, Beyens' has privatly apologised to Taylor and both are putting the incident behind them.
longest report I ever made. lol
