I have a quick question about the BTCC game coming up. The race starts soon and I want to make sure that if I choose slick tires after using one set for practices/qualifying my remainig set will be good enough for the race.

Or should I select a different type so that I have two full sets to use?

Sorry about the newbie question. It is my first game. I just don't know how it does the tires.

You can select your starting set in race strategy via garage.

You only have 2 sets of dry tires. I use one for practice/quali/warmup, and another for the race.

GODDAMMNITTTT!!!!!

Renaults are 1,2 for the entire race. Then the safety car comes out with 3 laps to go. Our 30 second lead is gone, and a Ferrari jumps us both at the end.

👍 Brilliant, just brilliant. I'd like to thank the team for doing such a great job on the car, and I'd like to dedicate the win to a true legend of the sport...the brilliant Ayrton Senna!

Ferrari on top ladies!

Toyota seemed to lost the road completly and we must do better at our next race, and we have a engine upgrade:p

I'm pissed at whoevers front wing failed resultung in the saftey car being deployed. You were over 30secs behind me with 3 laps to go. :grumpy:

*edit*
Horton (P9) is concerned with the front wing. Moments later Horton is out of the race!
The safety car is deployed.

DAMN YOU HORTON!!!

Where do these driver comments come from?

Hedberg: "LOL"
Horton: "WTF?! I'm such a *****..."

Hedberg: "OMG, Butler! Don't leave me behind. Eightyeight will eat me!!!"

Sorry. In future I'll try to make sure my front wing doesn't fail.

****ing **** Midland build quality, I should of picked a Lada....

Oh my F god. The 2002 race just started. I stalled off the grid, as did Trendell. Then he tries to overtake me on the first lap and SLAMS RIGHT INTO ME!!

AAAAAAAAAAAAHGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

 Dunc, you have had so much misfortune today, you best actually do well in the McMerc later on.

I'll post up a report of the '06 race soonish...

I really have bad luck in the f1 2002 series.
Car broke down in the first race and now someone crashed into me when he wanted to overtake me.
And i could have won the race

Bee & Appie's Report!

Practice:

Friday practice was the first time many of the cars took to the track this season except for Ferrari and Torro Rosso who tested there in the winter, it was however Honda and Renault who set the pace is the session with brit Lee Davidson at the top of the timesheet with a 1'19.533. Canadian Carl Audet was right on Davidson's heel however setting a fastest lap 1 hundreths of a second behind. Melbourne winner Brett Edwards came 7th in the Red Bull setting a time of 1'20.463 just ahead of Audet's team mate Duncan Hutchison in the second Renault. A shock was the lack of pace from Ashley Butler in the Williams who came a lowly 17th, 2.8s off the pace. The weather was clear blue skies for the whole session and 3 cars failed to take any laps, Amp Eightyeight in the Ferrari, Scott Woodwiss in the Toyota and Iceman Iceman in the McLaren.

Qualifying:

Honda and Renault carried their pace from the practice session into qualifying with both teams in the front 2 rows, it was however Carl Audet who took pole with a time of 1'18.564, 2 hundreths ahead of Simon Trendell in the Honda, the sister Renault of Duncan Hutchison took 3rd, 6 thousanths ahead of Lee Davidson in the 2nd Honda. Jef Beyens took 5th infront of the Red Bull of Brett Edwards, who was the first driver over a second behind the time set by Audet. Blake Haswell put in a great effort to get his Torro Rosso onto the 4th row with Magendans 8th, Hedberg 9th and Charkaoui rounding off the top 10. Phil Martinez in the 2nd Red Bull was only able to produce 1 lap due to a problem with his car spotted whilst in the garage, he is expected to take the T car for the race.

Warm Up:

The sunday morning warm up proved to be a surprise with the Ferraris taking the top 2 positions, Amp Eightyeight pulled out all the stops and set a time of 1'19.356 with team mate Jef Beyens 2 tenths behind. Honda and Renault continued their personal battle with Davidson taking 3rd, Carl Audet 4th and Simon Trendell 5th. Brad Horton set an impressive pace to get 6th place in the Midland. Duncan Hutchison only managed 13th.

The Race:

"Great Expectaions"
It was set to be a great race between Honda, Renault and Ferrari, however expectations for Lee Davidson dissapeared after his Honda crawled off the line when the lights went out and dropped 9 places by the end of the lap, Audet on the other hand created a 1 second lead over Simon Trendell with Hutchison close behind in 3rd. Lap 8 saw Blake Haswell creap into the top 3 in his Torro Rosso overtaking Trendell, this only helped Renault as they started to make a gap between themselves and the rest of the pack. Audet made his first pit stop on lap 22 handing the lead to his team mate Hutchison who kept it for 2 laps before diving in to the pits himself. Trendell was nearly took out of the race on lap 29 in a collision with the Ferrari of Jef Beyens, who started to set some serious pace. By this time Ashley Butler, quietly driving his own race, got up into 4th in the Williams with Haswell 5th and a resurgent Davidson 6th. Lap 30 saw Beyens overtake Hutchison to get inbetween the Renaults and was fiercley tacking down Audet who pulled a lead of around 7 seconds.

"It's A War Out There Boys"
Joe Blow became the first retirement of the race on lap 32 after he lost the Super Aguri at Tamburello, the damage was terminal and he could go no longer, lap 37 saw a collision between Edwards and the unfortunate Trendell, Edwards had a bit of body flapping and dived into the pits, Trendell appeared to continue to drive as though nothing had happened. On the very next lap Scott Woodwiss in the Toyota ran off the track at Piratella, causing some body damage and an extra pit stop.

"The Home Run"

Audet made his 2nd and final pit stop on lap 41, he came out 2nd, 30 seconds ahead of the Ferrari of Jef Beyens, it appeared Renault had it all tied up from here. Hutchison made his final stop the lap after, but it only got better for the team as the Honda of Davidson barged his way past Beyens on the same lap to get up onto the podium who managed to cut the gap to Audet to 10 seconds before havign to make 1 last pit stop. It was however a mediocre stop with a mechanic loosing a wheel nut and spending valuble seconds searchign for it. Davidson was obviously distrought, chucking his glove at the mechanic is question. Lap 53 chucked a spanner into the works of the race when Horton in the Midland suffered a front wing failure sending him into the barriers and bringing out the safety car, it stayed out for 3 laps while the debris was cleared, we were then set for a 7 lap shoot out, Audet was first with Hutchison and Beyens in 2nd and 3rd. It stayed like that untill lap 60 when Beyens went into overdrive, he cleared Hutchison early in the lap and eat up Audet's lead, he then pulled in a superb move into the final chicane and snatched the lead from the Renault. He held onto it for a famous win infront of Ferrari's home crowd and certified himself as a true championship contender. Audet took home second with Duncan Hutchison matching his best finish of the season with 3rd, Blake Haswell finished in a well deserved 4th with Butler, who started 15th, just behind in 5th. The second Ferrari of Amp Eighteight brought home 6th and his first point's finish, Lee Davidson made a strong comback to finish 7th and Nathan Hedberg in the 2nd Williams finished off the points scorers. It was a fantastic race full of incident, drama and a great finish. The paddock move onto to the Europen GP at Nurburgring next where Beyens must be hoping to continue his good form.

Post-Race Comments:

Brad Horton - Midland - Qual: 13th Fin: DNF

"The race was going great to the extreme. Was running in a good 9th position with fresh tyres and no more pit stops to go until my ****arse Midland's front wing fell off.

Safety Car got the field together and made for an exciting ending to a great race."

Duncan Hutchison - Renault - Qual: 3rd Fin: 3rd

"We cant complain about a 2,3 finish for the team. It puts us at the top of constructors. But we were leading the race the whole way through. With about 5 laps to go the saftey car came out. At the time I had around a 25 second lead over Jef Beyens. That was instantly wiped out. Don't get me wrong, he drove fantastically to get past the both of us in one lap to win the race. But if it wasn't for the safety car, he wouldn't have had the chance."

Ashley Butler - Williams - Qual: 15th Fin: 5th

"Happy with the result as expected, the 1 stop strategy really helped getting the car from 15th to finish 5th, managed to hold it well so now we can go to the Nurburgring chasing a podium maybe."

Lee Davidson - Honda - Qual: 4th Fin: 7th

"It was a fun race apart from the poor start, it was my fault I didn't select 1st gear fast enough, lapse of concentration. It was fun to have a good fight with Amp during the race, I had a good scrap with Butler too. I'm a bit unhappy with myself because we obviously had a very competitive car, if I didn't muck up the start, we could have been challenging for the win, but I'll gladly take 7th under the circumstances."

Abdeslam Charkaoui - Toyota - Qual: 10th Fin: 12th

"I finished at the 12th place just as I expected. The team is very dissapointing because we finished the last 3 races in the points.

But we will leave San Marino Behind us and focus on the next Grand Prix at Nurburgring. We are also be bringing some new aerodynamic components for the car."

Jef Beyens - Ferrari - Qual: 5th Fin: 1st

"What can I say but the team did an awesome job on the car. We knew that we had a quick car but we didn't get the qualify time we wanted, so a few changes to the race strategy meant I was able to pull up to the front. Respect to the Renault guys though, they had a great race up until three laps before the finish. I think this 2nd win proves that Ferrari are back on the map and 2005 is firmly behind us"

Lloyd Ramos - McLaren - Qual: 16th Fin: 16th

Really disappointing, I just can't seem to get the right setup, my teamate has lost intrest and the results show. Hopefully McLaren will be back on form next race.

More comments to come.

AAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!!!!

I led the whole race with a confortable margin, set the fastest lap times, and then come this yellow flag, and I'm passed with 2 laps to go. 🤬

 :irked: :banghead: :grumpy:

You'll pay for this! *goes to install spikes on the car's rims*

Thankfully, my other race went well, came back from 7th after a really bad start to win the race.

Hey Carl, won a race in the private championship yet?

You have to be the Kimi of the championship, so fast yet so unlucky.
