Speaking of champcar, my team mates should get round to practise!

Heh I'm bored.

GTP Season 2 Round 7: Monaco.

SPOILER, AS IN HUGE SPOILER!!!

Today saw a dominating display by Honda as they prove why they are currently sitting pretty at the top of the constructors. Simon Trendell was on pole with team mate Lee Davidson next to him on the front row, Blake Haswell, who before the race was 2 point's behind Davidson started third. Championship leader Carl Audet started 19th after problems in qualifying.

As the lights went out, Lee Davidson had a scare as his Honda had a lapse of concentration causing him to miss first gear, he managed to keep second place with some great defending at the first corner but 7 seconds worth of damage was made. The first incident of the race was on lap 5 when Torro Rosso driver Ashley Butler collided with Machiels of Toyota, each car recieving only cosmetic damage. McLaren driver Steve Dravis continued his luckless season as he pulled in with the team concerned about his brakes, he was quickly followed in the driver's louge by Midland's Nathan Soyfu who had an engine failure on lap 9 with lap 13 adding another 2 casulties, Steve West crashed his Torro Rosso at turn one and Adam Bond in the Red Bull pulling out with throttle problems.

Lap 19 saw a crash between Joe Blow and Brad Horton, both managed to climb out unharmed but Horton had a few choice words with the American as they walked back to the pits. The very next lap Andrew Lewis capped off a poor weekend for Red Bull as he out-braked himself into Lowes Hairpin, colliding with the barrier, he scampered back to the pits with 3 wheels on his wagon. Davidson was first of the Honda's to pit on lap 27, causing alot of concern to Ferrari who pitted Haswell a lap earlier, Trendell pitted on lap 29 but had such an advantage that he kept 1st place as he pulled out just infront of Davidson.

Trendell Pulls Out Of The Pits Ahead Of Davidson.

BMW Sauber driver Bob Smith had a tyre failure on lap 36 causing him to spin as he drove down towards the chicane, he was lucky to keep it going and managed to get back to the pits for a new set. Lap 41, Toyota driver Abdeslam Charkaoui suffered the same fate but also managed to get back to the pits for a new tyre.

It Was A Race Charkaoui Would Like To Forget.

Trendell surrendered the lead for the first time in the race on lap 50 as he pitted for the 2nd and final time, Davidson took the lead and held it for 4 laps before pitting for a new set of tyres and fuel. Elsewhere Renault driver Duncan Hutchison managed to pass Ferrari driver Blake Haswell for 3rd after the pit stops, although alot of people would deem the move unsafe as Hutchison collided with Haswell's side pod causing damage to the Ferrari. The final retirement was on lap 66 with Bob Smith colliding with the unforgiving barriers, it appeared his luck had ran out. Lap 73 saw Hutchison's sick Renault passed by Ferrari driver Jef Beyens who made an incredible run through the field and a podium finish was most deffinatley deserved.

By the last lap the 2 Honda's had grown a lead of 55 seconds, with the 2 brits divided by only 5 seconds, it was a case of what could have been for Davidson after his start loosing him 7 seconds. Beyens took home 3rd place with Hutchison the meat in a Ferrari sandwhich in 4th, Haswell took 5th after having to pit to check for terminal damage, McLaren driver Lloyd Ramos finished a quiet race in 6th. Catalunya winner Marc Pianelli finished in the points in 7th with Ashley Butler taking a valuble point for struggling Torro Rosso. Carl Audet struggled through out the race and finished a lonely 9th with Charkaoui rounding out the top 10.

Beyens and Davidson Congratulate Their Podium Finishes.

The result saw Lee Davidson take a slender 1 point lead over Carl Audet in the driver's championship, Trendell jumped up to 3rd only 2 point's behind Davidson. In the Constructor's Championship, Honda now have a commanding lead over Ferrari with current title holders Renault in 3rd.

Next up is the home race for many drivers, the British grand prix at Silverstone.

GTP Season 3 Entry List

Same rules as before but with a slight twist., if you want to change teams you have to wait and see if an open seat is available, you will however have priority of your seats, that's if you survive the lottery.

Quite simply, on the days between now and Sunday, you will have to pick a number between 1 and 20, then on sunday, I'll use a Random Number Generator to pick 6 numbers, the people with these 6 numbers HAVE to find a new team. It's the element of your-team-has-dropped-you-ism that is found in real life F1. It also changes the teams up a bit possibly for the current big 3 of Honda, Renault and Ferrari, thus allowing newer drivers the possibility of a front end car.

So, just post the number you pick, if you don't pick a number by the deadline, I'll place you with a number that is left.

Thanks!

EDIT:

Number - Name - Current Team

2 - DQuaN - Renault
3 - Sting - Ferrari
6 - Omnis - Williams
7 - Bee - Honda
8 - Appie17 - Toyota
9 - Impreza04 - Honda
12 - Ashley. - Torro Rosso
13 - Blake - Ferrari
14 - GTRacer4 - McLaren
20 - Foolkiller - McLaren

Jeez.

We could always just say sod it and try to get in first and pick our team.

I'll pick #2.

Blake
I’ll kill you if I get picked. I really will. :p

Yeah same, dont like my Ferrari seat being in jeopardy considering I've finished all the races and many times in the points.

Guess if the lottery goes through I'll pick 3

But then that's unfair for people in alternative time zones, they would be at a disadvantage.

Interesting concept, Bee.

I'll take 20.

So, who's watching to make sure you don't keep redrawing until you don't get chosen? :sly:

I'm just kidding. Everyone here can trust you. (What's your Pay Pal account?)

 Rats my plan has been foiled! No, I can tell you now, if I get picked, I get picked, yes it's a shot in the foot but heh that's my luck for you, it would be intresting anyway if I end up having to go to another team after my stint at Honda.

How do you always manage to load my setup, and then go slower than me?

I'm worried about loading yours now!
