Dave, your engine's in the wrong place mate.

Just thought you should know.

A two-door coupe with a Carbon Fibre roof, Jef. I'm scared

Our anchient, 50 year old design has been proven. Danny and I are an excellent LMES team. Twice we ran, twice we won.

And I'm hunting my 5th LMES title in the process :)

Ahem, fixed. Ferdinand Porsche designed the first sporty Beetle prototypes about 60 years ago, while the regular Beetle was already 10 years old.

That may well be, but the Beetle is actually a rubbish car!

The 911 didn't get good until the mid seventies, and it's only got better since.

TVRs and Porsches are similar in two aspects. They are both:

  • Completely berserk
  • Have stuck to the same engines for quite a while

But the Porsche actually wins races and championships. The TVR just has a DeWalt sticker.

True, but seeing as I have never actually won a Public season, I'm not expecting to win anyway.

Still, you never know. ;)

Do I spy a CCY/WWW/Goodyear combo?

Wild guess, eh? :sly:

Personally I have ridiculous sliders all the time, and this combo works along with the score-big-or-go-home theory. Praying for rain in the next race...Le Mans. Leading the team championship by 60 but trailing in the drivers' by 50... and the leader's my teammate, ahead by 10.

Choices, choices, can't decide whether to drive at 110% or not. This is big. :nervous:

Kumhos, not Goodyears ;)
May have to try those in the next LMES, then. Would you consider 'mid-pack' in the dry races survivable or is it a real pain?

(Either that or it's going to be another Experimental Combo with some package no one ever picks.)

Also, beginning to agree that having two 'slower' characteristics - WWW + Thinker here too - is kind of a silly move. Although I'm having trouble differentiating my laptimes in my last race; the last stint is much faster than all the others, and I can't figure out why. I don't have that much extra fuel, do I?

Well, that's 5 GTP members in the GT class..
*curses 1 LMES per member limit* Let me know if you guys ever get an AWOL in your game, ok? :)

Mid-pack being consistently 4th-8th, frustrating that the car's not quick enough to win in the dry, but the combo is consistent - no retirements for me thus far (just had Istanbul qually) and sitting fifth (teamie two points behind in sixth, team third in LMP2). Not a bad combo, but not anything spectacular either. Good at one-off laps in any condition, but relatively poor (compared to qual performance) when it comes to stringing them together in the dry.

Qual:
5. 240 0 me 4 3 1 1 6 1 2 1 2 1 2 - - - - -
6. 238 1 teamie 2 4 3 5 9 2 7 4 4 3 1 - - - - -

Race:
5. 240 0 me 4 9 4 4 12 6 8 8 4 5 - - - - - -
6. 238 1 teamie 5 10 R 3 8 8 6 6 1 4 - - - - - -

LMP2:
1 329 pt
2 291
3 273
4 253
5 240 - me
6 238 - teamie

Incidentally, the race that Josip won was the Road Atlanta 10hr, and guess what? It rained. Which, unfortunately, has been the only wet race so far :(

Also, Kumho's don't have the best (dry) tyre life... :(

Needless to say, this season has so far been EXTREMELY unspectacular - no podiums, but consistent - all bar two finishes are in the 4th-8th block of points (with one of the two being just outside that region - 9th).

My home race bonus never materialised, I had pole for Adelaide by over half a second (:D) but a 45 laps stint instead of 35 made me drop 11 seconds in that 45-lap block. Unfortunately, I only had a 11 second lead before the start of that stint. Josip has home race at Istanbul and he's on pole (ahead of me by a third of a second), just like I was. I'll let you know what happens tomorrow.

Definitely agreeing with the characteristic thing.

On the faster final stint: nearly always happens, for some reason. Doesn't make much sense, as at the end of the race drivers wouldn't be pushing as hard and will generally be on a second-hand set of tyres...

(are you joining GTP F1 S16?)

GTP F1 S15 and this LMES season have been unusual in that I qualified exceptionally well. S15, six poles (OK, I did have the Ferrari with PSK slapped on, but still...), best in average qual position. LMES, five poles after 2/3 the season, top in average qual position (OVERALL!) also :embarrassed:
