For nobody's attention in particular, the TB P11’s are turning out to be a very satisfactory choice of headphones. Really pleasing game sound clarity and the mic seems to work a charm. The duel volume controls (1 for game sound and 1 for chat sound) I find really nice – the only drawback is the long fiddly cable setup which VEXD described.

Really enjoying Tanks on maps like Firestorm, Kharg and Canals now. I used to shy away from them, but now I have really stepped up my effectiveness with them.

Some guys should just clean stay away from them though. Was at Seine last night struggling – primarily as an enemy tank was roaming around owning infantry; I waited and waited and waited at deploy for our tank, but nothing. Running to B I figured out why – someone had driven it in the drink by the sunked boat and left it there.

Happens way too often. Sorry for the abrupt quit last night Drag/VEXD, BF3 crashed the PS3 so I thought it a suitable time to give up. Good fun for most of it, still having either really **** or really good games at Firestorm.

JAVELWIN!

I think we only had a chopper game on Kharg (decent points for it even though we barely played the objective given it was an almost empty server) after you left. I've been around for a few of your Firestorm games and that definitely seems the way, but most of mine have usually had both teams holding at least a flag at most times whereas when I'm with you 1 team has nothing .

Good games last night though for me, I only had one dodgy round where things just would not go my way but every other one was enjoyable. Poor ol' VEXD getting stuck on the other team for Canals and Metro though :scared:.

100 kill assist on Metro!!!!

I'm still surprised that's your first one of them, I've had about 5 in the past week or so, there must literally be .X of their 100 health left .

Edit: Or maybe they have a medpack on them, so you cause over 100 damage so the game just gives 100 flat.

I often end up with 0% health but am still alive.

Is this a ribbon or something?

I think he means during a match he got 100 points for a kill assist which means he shot the guy to 0 health but didn't get the kill... Although he did mention Metro for some reason so maybe not?

Ahhh, I get it now.

I've been killed by guys on zero percent before. Then again, I have killed guys and been on zero percent myself before.

Gave the 870C a run last night. Nice shotgun, I think Engi will stick with it now. One shot kills FTW. When you don't miss that is.

Are 12G slugs any more effective then buckshot with it?

Good.
I thought he meant he got 100 assists (not assist points) for a minute.

And Daniel, I finally unlocked SOFLAM AND the Javelwin.

Is there a platoon for PS3 players?
Probably best that I'm not a part of it, but just wondering.

Slugs kind of suck really bad. They're to inaccurate to fire at really long range and they're to weak to be good in CQC. So mid range they're ok but frag or even flechette is better.

I saw a "Javelin Squad" video on YouTube and it looks pretty effective. Get onto a tower or high building (Comms Tower at the Border, the Gulf of Oman tall building and), have someone with a SOFLAM, two people with a Javelin and one Support guy. People will seriously hate you because you've got an endless supply of Javelwin rockets :D
We have to try this some time!

12g slugs are really, inconsistent for want of a better work. They work best on the 870 to my knowledge as you can still one shot a guy at close range and you can do good damage at range considering. Ultimately however buckshot is the best for doing what shotguns should be doing, it doesn't make alot of sense to be slug sniping when you could just use a normal gun.

Hmm. I tried it with the USAS and it sucked hard.

Buckshot is great with the pump action, but seems to have major drop off after 15-20m - which is consistent with shotgun's I suppose. I guess it just makes me feel a bit vulnerable if I do get caught out in the open.

I'll try Frag and see what is what with that.

Also, 👍 waffles. When I see how people star up every weapon with ease, it makes me realise how mediocre I am :D

 Thanks Mike, after on 4/5 Team Deathmatches you can usually get a service star. The frag is a great round for the SAIGA and DAO12 but I feel like an ass using it. Flechette is decently powerful in close range but with a better range to so it's not to bad, it really depends on the map.

By the way, if any of you guys wanna squad up on the weekend I'll definitely be on.

Flechette also goes through players, damaging lined up enemies nicely, it's pretty much like buckshot in 1 on 1 fights as the main thing affecting damage at buckshot and flechette effective ranges is how many projectiles from the shot actually hit the target.

And me how terrible I am. .75 K/D FTW lol.
It'll come up soon though.
I don't "go hard" too much on BF3. I'm still learning and leveling up stuff.
Almost to the point where I'm ready for some serious playing.

EDIT: also got a collateral yesterday. Squad Deathmatch, Kharg Island, SV98 Ballistic Scope.
Awwwwwwww Yeeeeeeeaaaahhh.

This is why I am kind of reluctant to try an unlock stuff on weapons now, as post patch, I suspect what was a cool weapon now, may be suck. I know they are, for example, lessening the number of buckshot and flechette pellets being fired, but narrowed their cone. I want to level up a LMG, but they seems to be changing a lot in the patch...

Empties clip. Has a picnic whilst reloading.

^ Yea that's the only reason I dislike it. But you can start firing whilst in the middle of reloading it I think like what you can do with the 870MCS or the M1014.

Same with me. I got it for Christmas, so I've only had about two months with it, and I only hop on two or three times a week. Oh, and I have a 0.55 K/D. :p I only have 531 kills, though.

Myself and two mates did that at Borders.
Can confirm it's very effective.
Eventualy every enemy chopper is hovering around trying to get you. As long as one guy stays alive so the others can spawn back you can take down a few choppers as well. :sly:

Cheers Shaun.

I am now in the GTP platoon, I sent a few Fr's to people I recognized right off the bat in this thread, If I missed you, go ahead and add me

Got a 971m headshot - completely unplanned as well [/outright lie]
Sorry I had to jump off, PV. Mum got home so I had to get off quickly without sending a message. You can get the 1000+ on the weekend though :sly:

Well Roush, if we squad up I bet we can get some pretty good lag (and by that I meant a low amount) because of our proximity. At least, as long as it picks up a relatively close dedicated server.
