Well that noobs guide is bullsh@t.

It might be sarcastic for all i know but, never abandon the tank when enemy is next tobit. You wouldnt want to give away a free tank.

Always fix it to 100% because when it was disabled it will still be on fire when repaired to inly 96%.

Oh well. Let the noob callong begin

Brilliant!

Played my first round of BF3 today in over a month (stopped as i wasnt liking it), And i have to say i thouroughly enjoyed it. BF3 was so far out of mind i wasnt even contemplating buying the CloseQuarters DLC (wich when was announced i was really looking forward to). But looks like iv'e just gotten back into it now, Just in time for the DLC. :D

Thanks for joining in the fresh meat kharg round Dragon. Nice to not be paired with a moron for a change (in the round before at Caspian, a level 2 noob was sniping from US deploy...). I got disconnected right at the end there and I didnt want to lose my score, so I didnt rejoin :indiff:.

Mixed sessions this morning. Had a 35-3 round at Seine, a frustrating round at Caspian running into squads of noobs with F2000's pointed at me but rounded off nicely with a busy round at Kharg slaying the other team.

Getting on a bit more now with the AK74u at least, and gave the G18Supp a go. Less recoil then the 93R but seems like slightly less stopping power too.

Was a pleasure, eventually I did end up sat a mile away hoping for a new longest headshot, only managed 550m though :(, managed a hit marker at about 850m on a guy who was in combat but other then that a couple other 500m+ one on a guy repairing a tank who must've just been like WTF?.

Whilst the game was in full swing though I went on a complete tear for alot of the game sat between B and C, then moved up on to the cliffside over looking C and not sitting miles and miles away SOFLAMing and covering that objective (and turning to counter snipe teh noobs way up on the mountain which is how the 550 came about).

Was playing Rush on Métro and we got push back all the way to the last set of M-COMs and for some reason, about half the enemy team were camped up in the buildings around where A Flag is. There were about 4 guys up there and I took them all out with my suppressed M16 and MP443 before going back down to help defend an M-COM. I went back up with a PP19 after respawning and took all of them out again with it. lo and behold, another squad were on a higher level and I took them out as well

We won the game, needless to say.

Also, does anyone else use different guns for different teams? For instance I usually run with NATO guns (M16s, M4s) for the US team and the Kalashnikovs and similar guns when running as a Russian. I don't really know why though

Regarding weapons, I'm finding myself gravitating towards the M16 variants on all my classes (bar Recon, which I flutter between the M98B and the M16 based Mk11 ). I really want to use the L85A2 on my assault class, but I find myself using Assault on more CQB maps where I can't get over the super fast reload on the M16 and under barrel capability for an M320/smoke if I want it, whilst it also has a faster fire rate which just makes it work better. It's a similar sort of story for the Engineer, I like to use the AKS but I just don't have the same success with it compared to the M4A1.

I was trying to take advantage of the soflam and got one or two tanks kills in - usually someone would get the jump on me or I'd lose the lock with the missile mid flight.

Without a doubt we would have got Ace Squad if I hadnt been D/C'd 👎.

Battlefield Friends is the best. LMFAO.

This one is even better. Black guy says "when did you unlock retarded?" I started crying.

Had an eventful weekend. Had my highest multikill. 6 dudes. Playing rush in Tehran we had already taken A and the action was centered around B. I spawned in the attacker deployment and loaded my jeep with C4 and drove to the objective taking the long route and approached from behind. A teammate had just set the mcom and the enemy, tank included, were converging on the mom. Never saw me coming. I jumped out sending the jeep flying into the back of the tank and detonated the C4 and BOOM. The kill feed went crazy as the jeep, tank, and 4 infantry dudes all got blown to bits. To top it off I then ran to the mcom dropped underneath the truck and killed 3 guys who tried getting close.

Then on the Caspian border defending at the start of the round in a tank I disabled their tank from a distance with my guided missile and immediately swung my turret around and shot their heli out of the sky with a tank round. There were 4 guys inside. Poor fellas.

Attacking the secondset of mcoms on Damavand I was recon and from my perch had the A mcom in my sights. The building housing the mcom had been destroyed so I had a clear line of site. My teammates set it but both were killed aright away but those would be disarmers had no protection. As the sat beside the mcom defusing it I headshotted three in a row and it blew.

Despite how frustrating this game can be at times it sure feels great when you have moments like this.

Just the opposite for me.
Work started to get super busy. Sold out at midnight and started playing again. Had some connection issues then just some poor playing on my part.
Stopped playing cause a friend came to visit. She deserves the attention o er a video game.

Last couple rounds were much better than my early evening rounds.
Daniel, did you get DC 'd from that metro game?

Just had an amazing game of conquest on Seine crossing.

The game was much closer than the final score suggests, with less than 10 tickets between the teams for most of the game. All the flags were constantly being captured.

The other team had about 8 people with the same clan tag who were working together well, but there was good teamwork on my side as well. I didn't know the other people in my squad, but I think that they knew each other.

It is games like this which shows me what Battlefield would be like if people played together with teamwork, and how much better it makes the game.

Probably the worst night of BF3 I've had last night, the actual games were at times quite fun in terms of how close they were. But the lag, by god, the lag!

Came up against this player last night.

Completely full of crap all night. Though I did have fun headshotting people spawn camping at Karkand with the 98B.

Makes you want to tear your hair at times, no doubt next time I go on it will be a great night!

Ooh, tried the Mk11 Mod thingmabob last night, I can see why you prefer that to the SKS, Drag. Much more stopping power, though the smaller clip is a slight turn off. Need the ammo perk in the squad, I reckon.

Picked up g53 service star 22 ( bf3 stats has me ranked 30x) tonight.
Also got
Tank ss 3
Suppression medal
Flag attacker medal 3
Laser painter for attack choppers
Turned into a good night afterall.

Dude, that's mental. Maintaining a 4x Kd over 1000 hours?

This was my evening session, which I cut short as a result. Had no confidence and couldn't aim for crap.

That was my nights start. Took a couple hour break to hang with a friend and came back on a rampage!
Was done for the night but noticed I needed one suppression ribbon for the medal, and you were on metro so I joined ya. But on the wrong team. My only objective that round was that one ribbon ;) team was already getting slaughtered when I joined so I didn't feel so bad ;)

Didn't notice to be honest, was too busy getting chewed up in the meatgrinder at B with my scopeless MP7 :ouch: ;)

I prefer the Mk11 for ranged duties over the SKS which I pretty much use as a normal battle rifle, where the Mk11 is my marksman rifle. Needs the bipod to be truly effective, then I change the optics for the situation and I'm always changing between suppressed and unsuppressed to. If I find myself in a range where the 3.4x Russian sight is unwieldy (i.e. Metro) I'd take an SKS with a holo instead, but if I'm playing a more traditional Recon role on a CQB map (tunnels on Metro) I'll use the Mk11 with an 8x or 3.4x. The reason I don't use the SKS more is when I'd choose it over the Mk11, I'd choose Assault over Recon. It may seem odd to use an 8x and a suppressor, because obviously the bullet drop and speed (and damage effectively) will be reduced but I like it as a fun weapon to use and once you adjust to the drop it's usable even at pretty long distance whilst not lighting the map up which is nice for maximum disruption. If it's Firestorm or something though, the suppressor has to go (but I often find myself using the M98B by then).

I always use squad ammo when using a semi-auto Recon weapon though.

Just redownloaded B2K and it isn't 🤬 working. Still says I don't have DLC that the server is running when I try to join a B2K server.

Silly question, but make sure you've installed it. My friend was complaining about it for a while when he redownloaded it but the reality was he just didn't install it on the XMB.

I've definately installed it, I watched it install myself...

Feels like its been ages since Ive posted in here. Always lurking but I never have any good tales from the battlefield. Well Ive been playing the last few days and Ive had a couple good rounds.

Running around with my squadmates tearing it up. I still have my old freezing issues but now I have a list of maps I know I can and cant play. So thats why most of these are from the same map.

Damavand Peak 55-18. Rubits was a random who just happened to be in our squad, but he turned out to be quite useful. I was squad leader so I would designate flags and he would follow us there. Was always there for a revive or a repair if you needed him. One of those very rare moments. One stage in the game we were trying to push B from across the road in what we call the pit. Got to the middle column thing by the dumptruck and we mustve been in their spawn or something. We were just running around like madmen for about 2 minutes killing dudes left right and center. We couldnt even push the flags there were so many. I think I got ten in a row and a couple revives and pulled up once or twice myself. We soon took their base and that was that.

Noshahr Canals, RU side. A genuinely well slugged out battle on Canals. I was down a squadmate but we had old Skunkybudz to help us out. Problem was I was 30-10 and he was about the same, Hoggie was a bit behind us and for some reason we were both kicked from the server for having an abusive clan tag, [ANU5], because we are always flanking and backraging. Well we got back in with Skunkybudz but now we were getting baseraped, as Russians... So we came back out of that for a real fight, mostly on the ground. My only vehicle kill was an RPG into a heli that was breaking the lock around that big B building people sometimes camp on. I think if we were kicked then we wouldnt of got baseraped and my score wouldve been up there with Skunkybudz. He got 60,000 points that game, I got 40,000.

Seine Crossing, 76-25. Nothing to spectacular in this game, just the run and gun style we usually play, But I have a great video for you guys showing some secret spots.

Noshahr Canals, this time US side. We had these guys on lock from the previous game, but this time we were severely disadvantaged. Their guys were constantly coming over to the carrier and jacking our Helis, and one of them had laser painter, so we were constantly getting Jav'd from across the map coming off the ship.
But at the start of the game, we had them capped out. I dont believe in baseraping but I desperately wanted to take one of their takes and try to free hit the little birds they kept stealing off us. We had only lost 40 tickets and they were down 200 by the time they got out. Then the game turned on its head. If we didnt have a huge lead to start we would have been rooted.

Last one, Caspian Border, gets an honorable mention for the stomping we gave the other team. Spent a little time in the chopper at the start but we were just dominating their armour. They kept trying to take our gimme yet they were completely disregarding their own home flag. Cost them in the end. 12 kill streak to go 18-4. Minus a suicide at the beginning because I spawned the wrong class and wanted the chopper.
