Am I misunderstanding something or does squading (with people from the friends list) not work at the moment??

Doesn't work and spotting is bugged a bit right now I think.

I try to spot enemy combatants as much as I can. I find it annoying that I get no points for spotting unless the spotted is killed. Being this is the first Battlefield game I have played, has it always been that way?
 
I'm starting to like the m203 'noob tube'. Ideal for taking out bunched up enemies and walls that hide them. The smoke version is fun too.
 
I have a gripe with this beta:

A. Because if you're going to put the Straight Pull Bolt in the beta ALLOW IT TO WORK. I've put it on my SV98 after unlocking it and i'm still having to zoom out to chamber another round. When the description explicitly reads that it allows the recon sniper to chamber another round into his bolt-action rifle without having to zoom out first.

Yes it has and it's how it should stay in my opinion.

It doesn't work how it should. You can party up with people but they may not end up in your squad, or even on your team. Also if they do end up in your squad you may or may not be able to hear their mics.
 
So yeah i've been using the UMP-45 for awhile and yes it is powerful but I can still come out with the same k/d ratio with a MK11. But the consensus seems to think the UMP45 is the end all because a round I just came out of at the top right of the screen all exchanges seemed to be made with an UMP. :sick: So maybe it will get nerfed, as long as they leave my rifles alone. :D

EDIT: BTW, is anyone Ibonibo on Origin? I accepted the request thinking it was one of the GTP members but now i'm not so sure.

I kind of wish they would get rid of the spotter thing. I end up just hitting Q all the time to spot people I would never normaly see. Once everyone just starts running around hitting spotter like I do it will take alot away from trying to sneak around the maps at all. There will be no hiding to try and defend at all, it will just turn into, lets meet in the middle of the map gun it out. There's no point in using strategy if the other team can hit a button and as long as you are somewhere in front of them everyone on your team will know where their at.

They way it is now, you can almost just lay down in a bush, and look around hitting the spotter button and find enemies you should never be able to see. My kill to death ratio is horrible, but it's went way up since I started doing this. I've actually even had a few games with more kills then deaths, and for me that's a major improvement., being as this is my first pc shooter.

Maybe you improved, my spotting also sometimes doesn't work.

I think it's a great feat but it still needs more tweaking.

And a squad of 4 being on a square feet is never a good idea. I already killed whole squads shooting them all in the back. That's always great rofl.
But i get your point, but it probably will be tweaked out for the retail
 
Why have all my stats been reset to zero? :S

Edit: Nvm it's fixed now, just went 5-20 though so time to call it a night.

I smell EA shenanigans at play.

Man all of my games the past few days have been like 3 or 4 k/d ratio so I was expecting my overall to be good but right now my average is 1.6 k/d ratio. :(

On a positive note my SV98 accuracy is 58% not bad I don't think. And i'm halfway from unlocking the M40, i'm getting bored of the SV98. :p
 
A buddy of mine was telling me DICE loaded some sort of "spyware" (I know that's not the right word) to watch to see if people were cheating and how they were cheating.

I'm fine with that, I don't see the point in cheating in a video game
 
Anyone had problems with the beta tonight? In every match I was in I got stuck under the ground, had to kill my self so I could respawn. Didnt had that problem any of the other days I played the beta...
 
I used the SV98 a little bit last night. That thing actually gets some pretty decent one shots even at range. I wasn't expecting a chest shot to drop a guy at the ranges I was seeing. I actually had more issue using it at close range than I did ranging it out.

Well yes, I would not suggest using the SV98 at close range. I'd use an MK11 or SVD over that at close. Although just for kicks I slapped a x4 on there and a suppressor and went rambo on people for awhile. That was fun.

I like to play more aggressive when I use a sniper rifle. I don't like to quick scope but I do try and have that option if need be.
 
Some random in my squad was under the map near the first objective B so it spawned me under the map next to him, then I just killed everyone trying to plant the bomb :lol:

Was I playing against you? Haha.

I've seen this happen a few times and when it does I prone just on the other side of the rock near B, crawl around the rock and push the joystick so it drives my guy into the ground just enough I can see under.

From there all I do is unload a clip into the whole squad standing there and go plant my bomb :) Did that 3 times last night.
 
I am getting quite annoyed that I get the jump on the person, get three or four hit markers, take one or two bullets from the person I have shot multiple times, and am then dead.

That's exactly my problem...

And they still haven't updated their VoIP system, still impossible to hear anything said on a mic. Even Black Ops is clearer...no wonder my dopey squadmates never hear me shouting HE'S BEHIND YOU down the mic every time I die :dopey:
 
Had my best round so far 👍 mostly done with the UMP45, silenced with the reflex sight. Used the M249 on the last base mowin anyone trying the disarm both M-Coms.

Had a pretty decent team from the start, although we almost lost it on the second base with just a handful of tickets left - i think there was three by the time we got it.
Ultimate banzai charge by about 6-8 players. Awesome sight - and the sound :drool: gunfire just drowned everything inside the subway! I had a buttkicker rigged to my
chair while wearing ear enclosed/bass enhancing/headphones on (best i could describe it lol) so the immersion was multiplied ten fold :drool:

I wish Dice would release Caspian Border for the last few days of the Beta. I'm all but sure that i won't be touching Metro again when the game releases... ok maybe not.
