I never play with randoms anymore. Always play with some of my friends.

Same.. my friends and I get on skype, group chat and we're set to go... it does take a while for everyone to get organized, but we get there, eventually...

Um just to confirm, I was being sarcastic LOL. It was just a tongue in cheek comment that despite not playing for nearly 2 months I was the only one doing anything worthwile, And getting any result.

I know.

I sort of feel assignments have hurt the game.

I think they do a bit of both. The ones for healing and resupplying have helped me out before now because people seem(ed) more prepared to drop kits, but the ones for claymore kills made TDM impossible to enjoy, the AT mines one made it difficult to drive anywhere because there were a billion mines hidden in sneaky locations and so on.

Great few rounds there hollidog, that was a lot of fun.

The standout was at Seine, where I was driving the T90 and we started to cap A, when a support guy materialised out of thin air and put C4 on the tank. I would have bet the house we were goners, he had that look in his eye. Next thing I know he is dead and you are jumping back in the tank. Nice 👍

My standout was talking out hollidog's Little Bird with my RPG on Nose-hair :dopey:.

Sorry I left, Gatrs. The game decided to be a bitch and freeze right as I was starting a circle strafe around D Flag at Oman :irked:

haha We had a couple nice runs. Good playing tonight with all you guys.

My clan encountered a bad admin tonight. Server got unbalanced, so he moved 2 of us over. Then we moved ourselves back. Then he moved all of us over. Then he moved half of us back. Then he swapped all of us.

Then we quit and found another server to play on. One that was owned by DICE so that 🤬 couldn't keep happening.

I wouldn't call someone trying to keep his server balanced a badmin. I appreciate it would have been annoying for you and your friends but to be fair there's more people using the server than just your clan.

Most would keep clans together, and there were plenty of people not in my clan that could have been moved. It's not the balancing I was annoyed with, it was the sudden back and forth swapping that started happening for no apparent reason once the server started to fill up again.

Hey guys, I'm back once again and I may be getting the game sooner then I expected. But... the big question of course, PS3 or PC? As those are my options. Trust me I do have an able computer, but I'm used to a PS3, that's what makes the decision harder. Opinions?

I would have to know what the community is like on the PS3 (which I don't because I don't currently own one). So, someone else will have to speak for them.

As far as a PC,

Pros-
60 fps!
'Larger' maps, more vehicles, faster pace
Graphics
Servers are probably better (24/7 admin on some, much more mature)
Any plus your PC gives you, (faster load times, etc)

Cons-
Larger maps, MORE people harder to get used to (especially if you don't play fps on PC)
More cheaters but PB and admin take care of that very quickly
Potentially, (more than likely lol) smaller community but you would have to look that up.

I would expect a better community. A reason for going to PC of mine. And what do you mean by larger maps? Aren't maps available on all platforms? Thanks for your input. 👍

I've had so many good games ruined by crappy admins and their idea of "team balancing" that while watching this episode a single tear ran down my face.

'Larger' maps as in more area is used because more objectives are available. For example in CQ there will be 5 to 7 capture points as opposed to PS3's 3(?) in some cases. It kind of dwarfs the console maps down because not all of that area is used.

And less people in the game also means there is a lot less shooting and a lot more getting from place to place. If 4 or more people want to snipe on one team... be prepared for a very, very boring game.

The community, I am most likely sure, is smaller on PC but more mature.

32v32 matches on PC. The community is generally more mature since it takes more knowhow and money to build a computer that can run BF3 well than it takes to get a PS3, and that kind of takes a lot of the children away.

I've got bf3 on ps3 & played bfbc2 on pc.

Certain aspects of the pc game make it annoying for me, such as the turret speed on tanks - its impossibly fast on pc, whereas its more consistent to reality on console.

The larger maps (more objectives) are a plus for pc, but personally I've only thought once or twice that I would've wanted larger maps as the console maps work well with 32 players.

Plus I prefer sitting on a sofa with a controller looking at a distance instead of hunched over a desk. *as far as I'm aware - EA/DICE only allow mouse+keyboard for pc players*

Most CQ maps have 4 objectives with the occasional 6 during CQ Assault.

They usually turn off their hacks if you do.
Nope.

No hackers "turn off" their hacks, they might ease up a bit on the killing spree, but hackers won't stop hacking until banned.

Hackers are there to annoy you, to ruin your experience, most likely because they can't get any satisfaction of playing a game fairly.

If you shout at them in anger, they've succeeded.

If you see someone clearly hacking, report the profile via Battlelog, and if possible, try to contact admin of the server to see if the hacker can be banned from the server.

Do note though!
Just because someone has 60-0 score (or 180-0) doesn't mean they're hacking. They can either be camping with a sniper, using a tank/other vehicle with someone using engineer to cover them, or using any other tactics and strategy giving them such scores.

In fact, i've seen plenty people those time's i've been playing Metro that has 150-0 +++ score. Neither of them we're hacking.
Sure, they used M320's, grenades and such, but that's a part of the game.

Just my opinion on the matter though.

Console versions have 24 players.... :-(

I have a question for console players, specifically PS3 players... My 93R keeps disappearing from my support class. And apparently that pistol is only in my Support class. Does anyone else have this problem with a weapon in their class?

XBOX controller works fine.

I personally only use it for jets though.

But... the big question of course, PS3 or PC?

As someone who own it on both platforms let me throw in my 2 cents.

As has already been pointed out the PC version is superior in all aspects really.
But here's the clincher. Friends.

BF3 is way more fun to play with people you know.
For me as mostly my friends play on PS3 I'll check via Battlelog who's online. If any of my friends are online I'll play it on the PS3. No one online I'll play on the PC. Honestly both platforms are fun to play on so ultimately it's your call.
The only other thing is that I find it a lot easier (due to ping mostly as there aren't that many PC servers in Aus) to find a game on the PS3. Not saying I can't find one, it just takes a bit more looking that's all.

Cheers Shaun.

Had a good game last night with Caz, we won by around 40 tickets and were kinda struggling at times but pulled out the win. Apologies if you got switched to the other team at the beginning, forgot to let admin know. Anyway it was nice to play with someone other than my clan. Good shootin and Well played sir 👍

Am I the only one who uses silenced burst-fire-capable LMGs? I LOVE the QBB-95. I unlocked the MG36; didnt like it as much. Gave me a bit of a hard time at first, but it all worked out when I got a Sight for it.

That is something I've considered. Sadly my (real life) friends are on XBox, and I don't have that.

How about people here on GTP? PS3, XBox, PC? :)
