I managed to see some off screen gameplay on the PS3, and it looks fantastic, it really seems that YouTube vids scale down the resolution, I'm expecting for some official trailer release in the upcoming days showcasing the co-op on PS3, but thus far its seems that BF3 on consoles might be worthy play after all.

The game actually looks impressive, not PC impressive but my previous considerations were mistaken, it seems that DICE worked in some aspects of the graphical department for consoles, maybe these will be the benefits that the Beta will bring.

Not surprised. The spec list is pretty awesome as well. So many cool things I'd like to know about. And glad to see all the RPGs and other AT defense. Quite the variety to make sure vehicles are entirely over powered against infantry. AND 60mm (hopefully portable) mortars? I can't waitttt

I am curious I have never played a battlefield game before do they have an option on there to turn off the fowl language ala gears of war?

How many maps do you guys think will be in the open beta?

That's unknown, but I'm pretty sure that it could be one or two maps, depending on the testing and the platform. The PS3 beta will probably be around smaller multiplayer maps while the PC Beta(if there is one) will be aimed for big maps(like the one seen from the trailer).

I'm just hoping jets will be playable in the open B. I loved playing with what we had in the Alpha but omg seeing the Caspian trailer made me get completely back into seriously playing the game again when before Gamescom I was only going to casually play BF3.

There's an awesome .gif going around that sort of sums up the insane amount of detail present through out BF3 (favorite thing I noticed from the beta for me was how trees would sway when they'd get hit by shrapnel and such)

"I'll buy Battlefield 3 simply for the detail here on the car's hood"

I'm assuming beta will come with 2 maps. The two we've seen. I guess possibly 3 IF they show another one at PAX later this month.

The details in this are amazing. I'm really wondering how much of it will make it to the console version.

Erm... not sure what EA/DICE was thinking when they decided to make the server browser web based instead of in-game - not to mention the console versions will have an in-game browser :odd:

I was excited about BF3 at first, but some of the recent developments have put a substantial dampener on things...

Origin, it will be used just for that, and authentication for original copies, as well some anti-piracy procedures.

Sharky.

It was this way in alpha trial too and it actually worked very well. I quite liked it. Basically from Battlelog you can look at a server list, join with friends.... Whatever you like. Definately not a negative.

But the server browser works fine in-game in BF2, BC2 etc and other multiplayer games, why does it need to be taken out of the game and managed by Origin?

Normally you would fire up the game, select a server and away you go. Now you have to launch BF3, alt-tab out, go to the Battlelog web site, select a server and wait for Origin to send the join command to BF3. It's adding unnecessary levels of complexity.

As the adage goes, don't fix what ain't broke.

Yes well with origin all you had to do was open it and select BF3. Then your free to close origin to the bottom of your screen just like steam. If I remember right it even opened Battlelog for you and away you go. So what? 2 extra clicks and for a large portion of people this is good because they are headed to battlelog anyway.

LE copy pre-ordered for the PS3 and no intention of buying MW3 at launch.

Now I have said that before, but this time I honestly have little enthusiasm for it, the same can't be said for BF3.

My thoughts exactly :)👍

Will BF3 support a controller for the PC?

I've been talking to my buddy (he is a xbox 360 guy and I am a PS3 guy), and we really want to play this on the PC. I just bought a tower for PC games and he is going to upgrade a few things on his PC.

Even if it does you'd be at a huge disadvantage. You can be much quicker and accurate with a mouse.

I know but I really don't have the setup to use a keyboard and mouse for FPS (My tv is my computer screen for my new gaming tower). Also I am so used to a controller.

^That video was SICK:tup:, this game needs to come out already lol.

My TV is my computer screen too. I'm sure that once you start playing you won't want to be at a disadvantage because you use a controller. Here is what I use to set my keyboard and mouse on so I can just play on my lap. http://www.laptopdesk.net/gamers-desk.html Look how much fun they are having in the first picture. You know you want to have that much fun too :)

LOL. after work today I went and bought a Logitech wireless keyboard and mouse.

I do agree with you I prob will end up trying it with a keyboard and mouse first, it will be really weird. I haven't used them for a FPS shooter since............DOOM I think lol

Best Buy wasn't doing pre orders for the PC version, so I could only do the PS3 one when I was there. I'll have to get the GS or something for PC.
