Is the beta always only going to be for MoH players? Or an open beta

Dunno, I never bought MOH, but I got an email awhile ago telling me I was invited. Hopefully I can find that email...

Hahaha yeah yeah.. I never got invited though, nor bought MoH! I was really looking forward to the beta though.. hopefully they just wait until I get back to do it.. not to mention I need to get some moneys together to still pre-order as well as get my PS3 fixed somehow.....
 
I didn't play any Battlefield game before, so I'm wondering how the vehicles work in Multiplayer: suppose you want a jet or helicopter: do you need to get to an airfield after you spawn to get in one and take off? Or do you need to select a vehicle before respawning, meaning that in case of a jet you're spawned mid-air?

Yup, you spawn as a foot soldier then run to whatever vehicle you fancy rocking in. In BF2 this was carnage in a poorly moderated server as people teamkilled for jets, etc.

Man, those were the days. :lol:

I remember also relying on some of the worst helicopter pilots ever to get you off the aircraft carriers. :dunce:

Oh god yeah. Sit there hovering for ages..... I'm not a good pilot but I also know this and therefore don't fly.
 
My buddy just told me until Monday if you pre-order BF3 off of origin you get Dead Space 2 for free.

I don't know if this is true, just what a friend said.

Hovering wasn't an issue I ran into. It was pilots who didn't realize part of the chopper's purpose was to help transport troops, not attempt silly stunts around the buildings. Was pretty funny though from certain angles in the chopper as well as watching people get mad. :lol:

Ah, I can only hope BF3 delivers some of those moments. To an extent of course. :p

360 gameplay:



Particles are reduced as expected, plus textures look downscaled.

I just noticed something else, @1:13 the game becomes really "blocky", remind me of Counter Strike days.

Sadly mine too. I wish there was some small one off shops around but there isn't.

I thought the 360 trailer looked pretty good for being on xbox. I'm more interested on gameplay since I have a ps3 anyway and that trailer looked pretty intense.

Haha, when it was a balance of jumping out of the Huey early enough to avoid being plunged into the sea and dying and jumping out late enough to be able to parachute onto dry land because the pilot didn't understand that BF2 helicopters lose altitude as they move forward!

Or being in a passenger gunner spot and not realising the pilot has bailed out and left you to glide graciously into the nice, soft ground. BOOM!

I'm excited about the range of weapon modification in this game, especially as the gun optics seem to suit the ranges that their real life counterparts do. BC2 is fun but being able to use a red dot sight to hit guys at 500 metres plus with better accuracy than a x4 ACOG is a little bit backwards.

Haha so true!! Having to swim half the distance to shore on Gulf of Oman sadly wasn't uncommon. It was brilliant when you (very, very rarely) had an expert pilot. I can still to this day remember one game in Dragon Valley when a friend of mine and I were gunners on a Blackhawk expertly piloted. He could fly, he could hover, and it let us basically dominate the game as a single squad. I think we only died twice and racked up crazy kills with the M134.

I logged so many hours of my life into BF:1942 and BF2 at the time. but I never did Bad Company or even any COD/MW multiplayer. Definitely coming back for BF3 though, hope I can shake the ring rust quickly.

I'm tempted to re-install BF2, but when I try check my stats online, it says I have 0 points? Does anyone know if that means my account has been closed? My friend's accounts till show, and we stopped playing around the same time (2007). Don't really fancy starting all over.

I sort of know, the stats are now all re-set or something for people with the 1.00 version. I play now and then in my laptop, there are just a couple of good servers but the 1.41 isn't as populated as it used to be.

I will get back on it now, Karkand with 64 players is a blast, I just wish that people play a bit more Matush city(probably misspelled) which is just down to see who gets each other's bases for the helicopters.

Apart from that I love Zatar wetlands, MiG 29 vs F35 and tanks with support from cobra helicopters, those moments are quite memorable.

The Official Battlefield Facebook page in Italy posted today that tomorrow is news on something we've waited for a long time.....

Seeing that the PS store updates on Tuesdays here this actually could be true.
 
Cant wait till Friday when I get to try this baby at the Eurogamer Expo. Even if I have to queue all day! :p

Keep in mind, the PS store does update on other days if the want (or demand from publisher) is there. The AC: Revelations beta went up on Friday, and less related, I think call of duty maps go up on thursday or friday or something. So it doesn't have to be Tuesday. Just very rare for it not to be.

And I hope it isn't, because F1 2011 is out tomorrow :)

Yeah true but I want it to be tomorrow so let's stick with that okay? ;)

In all honesty I'd bet it's the announcement tomorrow and then either later in the week it will go live or next week.
