Christmas story aka battlefield moment numero uno:

1. Long story version. Grand Bazaar , Rush, Attacking side.

Fired up BF3 , noticed none of my friends were online. Thought to myself: " OK, I'll start the session with something infantry based where I can get my feet wet". Grand Bazaar! Randoms! Here I come! I connect, game just starts, 12 vs 12, fair teams, few wings on my team , few on enemies. 1st set of objectives, great subconscious decision by my team to rush B Mcom asap/bad decision by enemies to camp near A and snipe from the top of the building on the left side of the street. My M4A1 (4x zoom and uber quick reload time) + smaw (along one squadmate with M60 bipod deathbringer) keeps them at bay. That went fast. Only 1 death from random grenade just as the A Mcom was blowin up.

Now it gets tricky. 2nd set of objectives. "The Corridor" (or as some would say , the most frightening place to be until 6.8.12. when "Prometheus" by Ridley Scott will hit the big screen). We kill a lot, we die a lot. Firefights are very enjoyable but they are not bringing us any closer to the Mcoms. We're stuck. Me and M60 guy try to flank through the street. Enemy machine gunner and sniper are covering that area. 2 tries, 4 deaths. Not good. Loadout change. M416 (3,4 PKA, foregrip, laser; let's say we're good friends already after over 1300 kills, I know HER , SHE knows me ;) ) + smoke grenades + frag perk and last but not least "the defibrillator".

I hit the street. M60 guy spawns on me. I spam smoke grenades like crazy. M60 guy knows what to do. Zig-zaging to cover and dropping ammo. Rinse & repeat. I follow him. 20 tickets left. We get to market. We see the machine gunner and sniper camping and sipping their latte macchiatos in the building on the crossing of the streets. M60 guy suppresses them, I storm inside spraying and praying from the hip. Enemies down. 40% health. 16 tickets left. Friendly MAV shows us that all the enemies are very close to the B (i think it is B, Mcom near "the corridor"). We rush the A Mcom. No enemies, charges set. M60 guy tries to rush B. He dies on the street, I kill the guy who took him out and revive him. M60 guy backs out to cover planted charges. 4 tickets left and killfeed shows that it doesn't look good.

Quick decision. Now or never. I get inside the "garage looking building". Knife kill and headshot later I'm in the doorway with good look on the B Mcom. 1 ticket left. I get out and see 2 enemies being alerted by the headshot. Hip-fire 1st. 80% health left. Firefight with the 2nd guy. I get him with my G18. 7% health left. I plant the charges while at the same time looking at the ticket count. STILL 1 ticket left. Charges planted. Sirens are off. 0 tickets left. I throw 2 grenades near "the corridor". I see M60 guy running behind me in "full auto Rambo 2 mode". Double kill from the frags. But someones got me with USAS (that's a change @grand bazaar, isn't it?). On killcam I see my killer getting absolutely chewed up by M60 while defusing the bomb. BOOM. 500 points. We made it.

Next 2 sets were not so exciting. Plus the fact we had a tank on our side (IR vision, Cansiter shot, Autoloader). Which really helped my K/D ratio in that round. I think just we broke their spirits. :)

It was my most enjoyable moment so far on the battlefield and one of the reasons why I don't play any other video games when I have free time to do so.

2. TL;DR ver:

GB, Attack, 2nd Mcoms, ClusterF... Corridor, Smoke grenades, Luck, Few Tickets Left, Boom, Even More Luck, 1 ticket Left, Sirens, 0 Tickets Left, Boom, 500 points.

Which rush maps have AA's? I can only think of Noshar Cannals off the top of my head, and haven't ever seen a LAV AD on any map ever... Surely it's not only on PC with bigger maps?
The Wake Island one is the 9922 Russian one IIRC

I honestly can't remember if the top of my head except for Noshahr Canals.
 
Christmas noobs have definitely started. I've had some huge games lately. I had a 27 kill streak on Caspian rush as an attacker. I finished 27-2 and only died once in the chopper thanks to an idiot pilot and then once at the end when my tank finally blew up. I had 25 kills combined in 2 tanks.

I had about 10 kills on the first mcom station when my tank was on fire from being hit by another enemy tank. He was right beside me so I jumped out of mine and started repair tooling his tank. Both guys in the tank bailed out and I shot them both, repaired their tank and away I went again with my hijacked tank for another 17 kills.

Also I had a 5 kills grenade launcher shot the other day on metro too as everybody was standing right next to each other...
 
Had a good game on Operation Firestorm yesterday. The enemy would plant the bomb right as they had the last 10 Respawn Tickets left. :lol:

I also went 37 and 16. All L96 and M9. Man these guns are beasts. Especially the L96. I unlocked everything I unlocked with the SV98 (Which took about two or three weeks) in one day with the L96. Bad thing is I'm having trouble getting kills with anything but Sniper Rifles, and to narrow it down only Bolt Actions! :lol: Well, I can get kills with the FAMAS pretty easily, but then again, so can a retarded slug! :lol: I have a feeling I'm going to revert most of my classes to what they were before I changed them. (Except for Recon) That means M16 for Assualt, M4 for Engineer, and I'll wait until I get the M60 for Support.
 
Oh yeah, most definately christmas noobs are comin, spawn in the huey with about 3 other people in it for a quick transport and the pilot runs it right in the ground and hops out the second before it hits (in the middle of the desert in Oman where anybody could pick you off) and for good measure 2 guys put rockets in it simultaneously

Try the PKP while your waiting for the M60, it's actually not bad once you get a feel for it's recoil, and it's amazing on metro with 3.4x or holo, and if it's rush, just sit down the hall from B on the 3rd set back for defenders and just pick em off or basically any where in the hallway whether at the mcom end or the stairway end, it's a blast

Had some good games lately too.

Finally getting a hang of flying the jets and helis
Now I understand how the heat rockets work.

Yesterday I played a match and a 2 player team kept respawning at the heli on the tv station.
I snatched the heli from them, killed 1 tank and 2 infantery, then got shot down.
The heli- spammers were calling me names. Rofl
So I returned at the tv station, snatched the heli again with one of them as gunnery and just got a few meters up and exited the heli.

They were all fuuuuuu over me.
Such a great time trolling kids :D
 
Amazing game today on Operation Metro! At least 8k points with 21 ribbons. Highest-scoring player earned around 13k and he has about 70 kills. Epic match.
The PP-19 takes ages to kill but I managed a good game with it!

Has anyone else had glitches with some of the new guns in B2K? (Holding guns as if they're RPGs!)

I think thats only with the MG36 on the new maps.

What is the best server/map to play for complete n00bs? I feel like all my deaths are either being randomly sniped or randomly bombed.
 
Currently downloading 1.02 and then the Physical Warfare pack now :D
I'll probably get a PSN card tomorrow for B2K.

First game I joined I spawned in someone's car and within a minute we were already chasing another enemy car like it was in a movie :dopey:

You're going to need to learn maps to learn the dangerpoints. With the starter weapons, you're going to suffer in the close combat maps with no scopes though, so try the larger maps like Kharg or Caspian Border 👍

I had an ok run of matches yesterday - the funniest came at Noshahar, Rush. We were attacking the last B MComm when I saw an AT solider sneak around the side along the water. I hosed him with the A-91 and he tried to flee and jumped in the water. I ran to the edge to finish him off but instead followed him straight in!

He was just hanging around trying to re-health treading water and I was trying to knife him - but it wouldn's as I was swimming. Then he see's me and also tries to knife me but also cant. So we flap around in the water for like 10 seconds chasing each other and fleeing each other until one of my team comes over and puts him out his misery :lol:.

Well worth it in my opinion. 4 very good maps, 8 new guns and new vehicles.

Had an awesome few games this morning, my k/D and score per minute have been going up steadily lately.
 
Anybody know how to make the F-35 go straight up on takeoff? It seems everytime i fly it it takes off like a normal Fighter.

I think you hold the brake (L2) and the throttle (R2) at the same time.

yea that works for a very short time, then you start to stall out. I'm still trying to figure out how to hoover in them :grumpy:

Not enough room in a jet for a vacuum cleaner mate, anyway, isn't that the missus's job?

Use a dustbuster if you really are that much of a clean freak, at least you'll be able to get into all the noox and crannies..... 👍

I would like to say that although I have flown a jet so many times now, I can pilot them quite well, I have STILL NEVER hit anyone, once.
Not one bullet.
Never.

Hate it.

One more thing I hate: I cannot use my QBU 88 sniper rifle on any of the Karkand maps, as I hold it over my head and gurn when I ADS, rather than actually using the sight.
I am very keen to see this issue fixed in a patch, coming to me soon. OK DICE??? :grumpy:

Had a few games with Blitz earlier, we got absolutely owned at Metro, but then we came back strong at Grand Bazaar....

I'm sure it had nothing to do with the opposition's best players being grafted onto our team for the second match.......

I have to use Southpaw for flight controls and invert it otherwise I crash within 2 seconds :lol:.
In regards to hovering a jet, it's L2+R2 and if you want to move up I think you ease of the throttle a bit (pressing L2) and it should move directly up.
