That jungle one that was really easy to get spawn trapped on but if you got past it was great.

Laguna Preso? I loved that map. So many places to blend in as Recon. Oasis was also a great blend of wide open spaces and urban confinement.

I would love them to add these into BF3, but it is a totally different set of story line maps and locations, so can't see it happening.

I would, but I would need to buy the game back.

 I was debating selling it but I still have it.

@MikeRotch, Wake Island isn't really involved in the story either but I agree though, I don't see it happening. I think it is Laguna Preso to.

Why don't we organise some sort of practice session with Mike and Shaun and Dzidza and Blitz at some point......
I reckon if we tried hard enough, we could all be online at about 10am GMT on a sunday.
Then we could get some strategy organised and some roles being stuck to, and some proper noob killing would commence....

It's an idea, right?

:irked:👍

I'd be interested. A bit earlier (hour or two) would be better, as some of us live in the future and monday morning is work.

Count me in as interested also 👍. The only thing I ask is that a little bit of pre-warning is given so I can organise the kids and what not. I think Dzidza will be in the same boat here. One other thing to consider is the lag that Daniel mentioned, I'm ok with Aus and US West Coast servers but the others are hit and miss.
To be honest the time you mentioned VEXD would suit me well (sorry Mike) as the kids would be tucked up in bed. I'd have to suffer through work the next day or take the day off (I'm owed plenty of time) but once again some warning would be required.

Oh BTW VEXD what mic did you end up getting and how's it performing? I'm still not sure what/if I should get one so any input would be appreciated, thanks.

Urgh, Operation Metro really needs to not exist. Control B (Conquest) and you've won the round. Close quarters really doesn't work with BF3, Kharg Island, Operation Firestorm, etc, all work so much better.

Depends which team you deploy with (US vs RU). If you lose B as RU, you've got trouble as you only have one route to assault. But RU starts closer to B, should should never not capture it first. That only happens when every chump deploying stands at A trying to collect 250points instead of charging to B and letting the dregs get A for you.

If you lose B as US, that's normal, as RU should get it first because they get to it faster. But as the US you have three routes to get to B. I think it's fair.

I really do not like Bazaar though. Not one bit.

Amen to not waiting and running straight to B on metro Mike. 👍
The two guys I mostly play with do this as well.

Funny thing is that I used to hate both Metro and Bazaar. Now they would be up there as my favourites with Kharg and Firestorm.

On the topic of Metro does anyone know If a support guy and recon guy could work together like this.
Recon deploys MAV.
Support loads it with C4.
Recon flys it to where map is choked up with enemy.
Support guy goes boom.
Just thinking you could surprise some teams with this if it worked.

Cheers Shaun.

I've been wondering if you could stick C4 to a MAV. In Bad Company 2 my friend and I would stick C4 to UAVs and destroy M Com stations.

Nearly lost on Noshar rush tonight. Finaly with 5 tickets left I took the final or the two first mcoms. My whole team was playing top gun in the choppers while the other team laughed and sat in a building. I was raging hard. The rest of the match we steam rolled them and I planed most of the mcoms. Ended up with 39 kills and 9000 points before awards. I also got my 5th SG553 service star and later ended up unlocking the PP19.

Can anyone tell me though how a mortar can one hit kill you when you're at full health with the flak vest specialty? I was dropping 2-3 mortars on this one guy and he'd survive but he'd drop one on me and I'd die instantly.

Would the USAS + Frag have anything to do with this . My favourite has to be Caspian, Kharg or Metro.

Support loads it with C4.

Nopes, can't load C4 onto a MAV, nor an Ebot. There is a series of 'mythbuster' youtube clips that demonstrate this 👍

With or without updates? Or does it matter for the mythbuster MAV

With or without updates?

Dunno to be honest.

Other interesting ones:

1) You can defib kill an enemy, it is quite hard though.
2) You can knife an enemy mortarer, but it's much harder than you think - better to shoot them.
3) If you are being knifed, a teammate can save you by shooting the enemy, but has to be quick.
4) It is possible to sniper kill a jet pilot (and steal their jet :scared:)!

How did you guess?

My favourites in order not including the DLC are.

Kharg Island.
Firestorm.
gimme tanks:sly:

Grand Bazaar.
Metro.
Caspian Borders.
Seine Crossing.
Damavand Peak.
Tehran Highway.
Noshahr Canals.

Edit: All on conquest.

Cheers Shaun

@ VEXD

I'd be interested in some organized action as well 👍 As the others said let me know ahead of time so I can make time :)

Joined Sureboss and two of his mates last night for some matches of Rush and Conquest. Good fun! Kept going back and forth in the matches... win one, lose one... And I need to get use to Op Metro in CQ again... If I play Rush its easy to get kills because everyone gets caught up at the choke points... In CQ everyone is all over the place and B is very very important to have in order to get the win...

Got my 5th service star with the USAS last night... I think I've been abusing it a little... :p

M249+Reflex+Foregrip+Extended mag=HOLY ****!! I joined Rush in Grand Bazaar went 12-0 with my first try, lol.

^ Yup, M249 is a nice LMG. I use the same setup but then with the Holo scope. Almost fires like an assault rifle when you have it setup like that.

Please, let's organize something :-).

^ And if we do organize something... first 5 matches will be SQDM so Dzidza and I can scratch that assignment off our lists... :p

Operation Metro CQ. Great Map for CQ. When losing (ie not owning B flag) the key is to break through and capture A or C (oh thx capt obvious!!). It's hard (especially when being on US side) but the best bet is to take the last set of stairs , equip "lightweight" perk and run , run , run to the corridor on the left , plant claymores in the staircases of one of the buildings and start capturing the flag. It usually changes whole dynamic of the round.

Oh and when you know that enemy planted claymores. Don't destroy them. Spot them for your teammates and crouch walk by them. Next step, as Nas would rhyme: "..my razor embraces many faces." :)

Thankfully not. Until it was patched in BC2 it was the cheapest technique of capturing Mcoms that almost broke the whole rush mode. I hated it with a passion. Almost as much as I hate recons in BF3 sitting in our spawn looking for long distance kills in CQ or rush modes. If you want to be so "1337sniperz" go to TDM or SQDM and see how it goes there. PTFO. :)

p.s. sorry for double post, opera browser is acting funny on me.

I doesn't need to be SQDM :p, but hey, If other insist I will play it

Regarding CF Operation Metro, the best way to win it is to go directly to B, and leave A.

That sounds like a way better plan then I had.. I was just running into the main choke points like Rambo, but that didnt do much for me... :p First with the AEK and then the USAS-12, out of pure frustration...

Exactly this.

Just had a round as RU. We pushed them all the way back to C, had a 120 ticket lead and they they got A, turned us around, and in doing so nabbed B, then pushed us back to A. We lost by like 20 tickets, but it was still a very enjoyable round.

mr geez
Funny story on this. I was US in CQ at Firestorm and my squad were idiots, so I spawned at deploy trying to bring a tank along but everything way gone. Doh!. So I ran all the way to C, over the hill, and as I crest it, what do I see? An enemy sniper sitting there facing C, waiting for what I don't know. But he didn't find it :D.

*coughs*

Yeah, me too.

Saw someone with 42 service stars on an F2000 yesterday...

^

If you look around Battlelog enough you'll see some cray stats... I've seen profiles with over a 100 service stars on certain weapons... :scared:

Some of the maps do seem to be quite unbalanced, Noshahr Canals is a classic on CQ, if you're the Russians in a tank with a good partner you are near invincible.

Op Metro is one as well. If you are RU then it is certainly easier to get to C than to A if you are US, as there is almost no back route. If as RU you can get close enough to B I usually run down the first set of stairs as quickly as I can, hope that no one kills me and run back towards A on the right hand side down towards that tunnel to nowhere. If anyone comes around you can blast them before they look down if you are prone and with a silencer the only one who saw you is dead. Then the key is to sneak down the side of the train as quickly as you can. Typically everyone is to focused on getting to B to worry about C, my favorite thing to do is come in as Recon and throw down a T-UGS and a radio beacon around there and then just go to town. Silencer is key, but you usually get some dudes who make it their personal vendetta to hunt you down. Doesn't take them long to work out that you have a spawn beacon there either.

The gadgets really help the It helps to have Thermal Optics and Proximity Scan on if you're the driver. I think the gunner needs the option for upgrades as well. Some thermals or even zoom optics would be nice. Though proximity scan carries over. It would be interesting to know if it can be shared between drivers/passengers.

Anyone having issues with Quick Match? Server Browser works fine, but Quick Match pops up "Failed to join Server. Check your internet connection and try again".

Yeah, it's busy.

Been like it for days now.
It would be nice for such a huge company with so much money to sort that out, but alas....

You can have the driver and the gunner of a vehicle have the same attributes, be it proximity scanner, or HMG or guided shells or whatever, as long as both players have the correct items selected before you go get into a tank, Hollidog.
That information appears as one of the random texts that pops up as the map is loading......

Everybody
Yes Dave, we would like to play with each other please...

OK, so why don't you all decide on a time, and some details etc.
Like, a map, role types, objectives, game mode, strategy, and then when you would like to get online, whether you have a mic or not, what time the kids go to bed etc......
:D:tup:

Shaun: I didn't buy one yet.
I will probably plump for the P11's but the first experience I've had of them wasn't so good.....
I am skint-ish-kinda till next month really, so I will most likely use the dodgy bluetooth headset I have until then.
The P11's I had from Amazon were sent from Germany, had been opened and used before, and had no bass whatsoever.
Either that's what P11's sound like, in which case, they're ghey, OR I was expecting too much, in which case they're ghey, OR they were tampered with, and had been broken before I even got my hands on them and therefore a new pair would be nice and give better bass tones in general.

We'll see......

I could be online to play with the Ozzies at either the crack of dawn on a Sunday, Oz time, or late at night on a Sunday, Oz time......

:irked:👍

Working on my first Battlefield 3 video in HD :D Hopefully it will be up in the next 10 hours or so!

Great! Whata video about? Like Rush, sniping, random stuff?

Just a rush on Strike at Karkand. It was the only round I played yesterday and it's more so of an introduction to my channel. The gameplay is somewhat entertaining though. I'm running into some technical difficulties with Final Cut Pro though :(
