^ Yea it is but you don't always use all of your rockets in a single life. I usually use my grenade and then rockets.

Also what is everybody's top weapon on here? Mine is the M16 with 169 kills. It's low because I try to get a service star for each gun and I'm so far at 42 service stars.

*Flame suit on* :p

USAS-12 - 842 but closely followed by the M249 - 831 :)

I took another game that I haven't played since I got BF3, I'll let you all guess what it was, back to the shop yesterday and swapped it for some shiny new Turtle Beaches.
I now have a reliable Mic.
For Sureshot: I nowf haa a reghiiabullf miich.

I wasn't aware you could collect the enemies AT mines.... how do you do that?
I mean, apart from run them over, and collect bits of them.... in you.... and your vehicle....

As for the game crashing....
I would say that in all my years of playing games, this has go to be the dodgiest front end I've ever seen.
I've had it freeze on the menu when I select options.
Or Campaign.
Or Multiplayer.
Or anything else.
The way I have come to terms with it is to baby it through everything until I'm in a lobby, and then just pray it doesn't kick me when I've actually got some kills, as that doesn't happen very often.
What I mean is, wait for the game to stop "Saving", before I press "My Soldier", which will synchronise the stats, and your PS3 with the servers.
Then I triangle out, and then go to Multiplayer, or whatever I want, and hope that it doesn't crash/freeze.
If you generally give it more time than every other game you've ever owned to understand which option you just chose, and then give you it, it usually worx.
Of course, until you get to "Quick Match", press X and then find out there is a problem with 'your connection'....

I would highly doubt it has anything to do with corrupt data or you PS3's HDD, when everyone who plays BF3 experiences the games shoddy front end menu giving them some Krypton Factor at some point.....

Anyway, I now have a Mic, so find that mute button people.......

:irked:👍

Vexed, as an engi run over them ( on foot ) and hold square ( or whatever to swap kits on your platform)

You may be able to use them if you have them equipped. Not sure as I use the torch primarily.
I think I just solved my issue with engi points. Mined. I should use em more.

NOOB! Just kidding. It's not as bad as the people with 34 USAS service stars online.

Yeah, I try not to abuse it. I do always use it in Metro or Seine though, and since its hated so much I know when people get killed by it they're cussing at their screen :sly: The frags do have crazy range though, I even managed to kill a sniper on the roof of that tall building (don't remember the flag) on Sharqi with it. Three well placed frags from the bottom of the hill leading to it got the job done. Not the typical range of a shotgun... Totally understand why it people want it nerfed!

Indeed it does have some crazy range! I know shotguns do indeed have some range with certain ammo but it's pretty annoying to get sniped by a shotgun, especially when it's fully automatic and very powerful. :dopey: Also, I know I sure cuss at the screen when I get killed by it.

The game crashing could be your ps3. I.e. laser burning out, corrupt data on HDD.

Had my PS3 Slim for 6 months and no other game crashes on me. Well, except Fallout 3, but that's a known quantity when it comes to crashes.

It's the menu that seems to crash the most, it's like it's trying to do too much at once. Loading, saving, battle feed, server browser.. all at once. I always let it save on the main menu before I go into any game mode/options.

Also whenever I get killed by USAS Frags I think to myself

"Congratulations sir, you know how to hold R1. Congratulations."

Its true though, it is that easy ;)

Most of my complaints in this game are player related. Players who treat objective game modes like tdm, not drop ammo/Med etc. How hard is it to push left when over your mic and via the select button you here " I need ammo" "gimme some ammunition"I need ammo" etc....
Just push the effing button already.

This x100.

Every time I play the game I end up questioning if I should continue. The players tend to be a mass of incompetence and selfishness. I can't even trust my team to disarm MCOM's if they're standing right in front of one. Even with the huge point incentive, people still refuse to work together.

Deleting and re-installing the patch data right now as the game has stopped loading the multiplayer games for me, once the loading screen passes it goes to that quick black screen and says loading, but wont load and sometimes freezes there. Disc has no scratches and PS3 plays every other game I have perfectly.

Mine does the same thing occasionally. Freezes to the point of having to turn off the system by using the actual button on the system.
It doesn't happen on my slim which only has arkham city, mw3 and bf3 on it. But my 160 fat has all three sly coopers, both God of war PSP ports ,Infamous and a bunch of smaller games saved on it.
Your not alone on this one. I have read a handfull of similar lockups as well as my own experiences.

I don't have an answer for you. But in my case, my full system suffers from this while my other does not.

Caz
It gets over used and is extremely unrealistic on regular game modes.
I agree it gets overused, but FRAG rounds in real life are nasty, so I wouldn't call them unrealistic.

Caz
I wouldn't mind if you killed yourself in close range with it like with your own nades and c4.

Arr - you can :D I suicide at least once a round because I have been either surprised in a confined space and opened the taps and eaten my own lead or gotten my sums wrong when firing around cover.

ilikewaffles11

USAS - 543 (norb) followed by A-91 with 36x. I want to spend more time using the 416 in case it gets nerfed in the next round.

Only works against noobs with no thermo optics, otherwise they stand out like sore thumbs. Still, on jeep heavy maps like Caspian, they can be pretty effective.

Unrealistic in the sense that 12 guys wouldn't all be running around with them. Its like your hate with the mav killing

You can suicide and teamkill with them on hardcore but not regular core.

Good point on thermals with mines.tho you can create quite a splash with a few well placed mines around a flag, insert grenade or a teammates c 4 and watch the flag stopped dropping.

I get you, totally.

Unfortunately, it is a case of if you can't beat em, join em 👎. (On MAV now, if I do have one hounding me, FRAG usually chases it away, failing which I get my own MAV and take it out).

I also hold the dubious distinction of teamkilling with the FRAG. There were two guys hiding behind some cover, when an enemy jeep roared in from somewhere. I unloaded on the moving jeep and caught side of the cover and, you know the rest...:O

I think Blitz mentioned it 100 pages back, but what does it mean when you are capturing a flag and the circle thing either 'ticks' or is silent when showing amount of flag captured?

I believe the ticking has to do with enemy presence.
Ticking. = free and clear
Silent= enemy presence but friendlies out number them.

At least that's how I play it. It could just be one of the many minor sound bugs within this game.

I don't have usas yet ;) only level 37 I think. Few more nights of work should get me there tho. It is fun to kill an enemy and Jack theres got 8 or 9 kills before I got killed.

Always assumed it was the other way :ouch:

It only works on CQC maps - Seine, Metro, Karkand, Bazaar. On bigger maps, it losses its effectiveness due to range. For me, it's opened up Support a lot as I havent got on with LMG much, and PDW are a bit up and down.

Minor? I'm often left without sound for several minutes at a time! Infuriating. Really laggy tonight, can't be arsed when it's like that.

Ticking can also mean enemies out number you if it's dropping while you're supposed to be raising it

2.m249 - 790
3.f2000 - 560
4.mg36 - 456
5.aek 971 - 430

The one hit sniper kill under 15 meters only in the head, or is that anywhere. Im talking about the "confirmed, unconfirmed weapon changes" in the next patch.

HE1RO for see's thousands of M39 EBR's with HOLO and Tac light attached...

Hm I never got to like the G3A3, always seemed as though it got me killed in close quarters. Medium range it had a nice stopping power but was pretty inaccurate.

imo the G3A3 is only worth it in Hardcore Mode, im starting to use it more often; plus i think it sounds pretty sweet. lol

Wasn't to laggy for me, was all going fine on the whole until Damavand Peak when the USAS army arrived which is when you left, although I got a nice chunk of points a great score in that game it was infuriating nonetheless that I could not get near a flag.

I'm still really struggling to get the attack helicopters to work for me, I always find whenever I get in one everything in the world locks on to me and I'm not getting any cover at all, I've decided to have flares on my gunner slot accordingly as well as stealth on pilot in some hope I can stay in one for more then 30 seconds. It's a shame because I really enjoy flying them and I want to unlock more stuff for them, but I get 1 kill maybe 2 at best usually regardless of my seating, perhaps Rush is the only way to really rack it up enough for me.

As for top weapons, mine are as follows:
1. M16A3 - 273 kills - Was my primary until L85, haven't used it in an age
2. M39 EMR - 268 kills - Primary Recon weapon pretty much since I started, awesome battle rifle
3. L85A2 - 268 kills - Primary Assault
4. M249 - 201 kills - Used it until the next weapon
5. MG36 - 170 kills - Used until M60 which is my primary Support now
6. M1911 Suppressed - 166 kills - Sidearm of choice, always.

I've not played enough to really skew mine towards my favoured weapons yet, my favourite engi weapon is only 9th (G36C) and support is 30th! (M60)

If I make it online tomorrow night and you're on, we'll go heli hunting.

I usually insist on being the pilot, but if you want to learn to fly, you need a good gunner to survive long enough, and I know how to do that bit too.
Maybe not as good as Sureshot, but I can kill a few people, and I know how to deploy flares....

If you are getting shot down, take some small tips from someone who thinx he is Stringfellow Hawk, but is probably more like Ernest Borgnine from Airwolf.....

Flare when you hear the fast tone, not the slower one, as the missiles haven't been deployed yet.
When you flare, pitch one way and either raise or lose altitude, so the missiles go for the flare, and not you.
Try to fly low behind cover if you are getting constant lock on tones. Chances are, you killed someone who then respawned with his Stinger, and is intent on taking you out.
You can locate them with trial and error by putting scenery between you and the potential area where the lock is coming from, and then narrow it down and take that guy out.
Hammer the spot button whenever you get the chance, watch those Stinger guys light up orange.

The best pilot I ever had the luck to climb on board with, used this technique, albeit on Wake, which is the easiest map to survive on in BF3:
He flew low, fast and constant.
He was never caught turning on the spot, which I tend to do.
If the enemy tracking him was at the Airfield, for example, he would go below the hangar level, nearly in the sea, and fly all the way around to North base, or South base, then turn, following the coastline, come all the way back along the beach and pop up where the enemy was 10 seconds before, and look to attack. He'd go to all that effort, just to come back to find the guy, because turning around in the air above your enemy will get you dead. I know, because that's the method I often employ......
If there was no-one there, he'd move right along the game area, never slowing down at all.
A fast moving Viper like that is harder to track, whatever weapon you are using.

Have a headset, and bark orders at your gunner, and let them relay targets to you, as your vision is impaired once they get in the front seat.

Learn in the Viper wherever possible.
It is by far the greater chopper, as it's more nimble, though possibly has lighter armour to compensate, but I've never felt that the Havoc has heavier protection, it's just waaayyy more cumbersome. :yuck:

Easiest way IMO, is to have a good gunner, that you can actively communicate with.
If you can discipline yourselves so that he deploys flares on the first lock on, and you deploy them on the second, you can stay in the air all day.

If no-one is using CITV of course.......
