Icehawk
What it does is basically when you zoom in on a target, if your sights are very close it will tend to lead your first shot on target.

Not for me.

Also, riding around in a tank with gundalini for 2 hours on the weekend has definitely upped my MBT skill. Just stupid stuff, like flanking and stuff. I also have determined that Reactive Armour is quite an effective replacement for Autoloader. You no longer have to get the first shot in, so long as they don't have an Engi repairing/ firing on you/guided missile, to win a battle.

I discovered that I could pull the old splitter out of the PS3, pull the piggy bax out of the TV, attach the USB to the PS3 for Mic in, and stuck the Grey 3.5mm into my TV's headphone socket, for sound.
Then I reset the PS3's audio to HDMI, and that's what I use.
Thing is, the cable that comes from the TB's themselves, is long, but where it splits between USB and 3.5mm Grey, is only about 8-10 inches.
Provided your monitor has a 3.5mm socket that is 8-10 inches away from the USB on your PS3, you can do what I've done, and use HDMI to transfer your sound.

Dave I use a red and white RCA to 3.5mm female jack and then connect the 3.5 male from the head phones in that. This should solve the short span of 8-10 inches as you will not need to plug any sound from the tv.
Hope it helps Mikey.

ps if I go in as a sniper I'll be taking the SOFLAM.

Tehran is my favourite sniping map now. Went 17-2 using just the M40 and a pistol.

Oh and VEXD rolling a tank last night was amusing.

And.... I roll tanx.

:irked:👍

Well if that's how you roll, that's how you roll. :sly:

As a passenger some guy managed to put our tank in the water at Seine. :dopey:

I managed to put a tank on it's side at Kharg.
No matter what I did I couldn't right it.
Bonus that come out of it though was that I had just nicked it from the enemy. I assumed that it would blow up but it didn't so I just left it there and the bad guys were down a tank for the round. I went past it a few times later in the round and to my surprise none of the enemy had blown it up to get it back.

Not for me.

Thanks :D

I had a few rounds on Sunday and to mix it up a bit where I would normally play assault I played support. I've virtually not played support, what a surprise. At the choke points on Metro and Bazaar for instance it is so easy to rack up points/ribbons for the ammo box.
I'm now going to continue with it for a while so I can unlock the claymores and have some fun with them.

Cheers Shaun.

I was having a pretty good stint with an American I squadded up with. For about five games in a row we were MVPs. An example would be at the Border and we jumped into a Viper. At one point he tried flying low over the Hilltop to capture huge point midair. He wasn't able to, so I just jumped out to capture it, suspecting that he'll fly away but he didn't. Once I captured the Hill, he flew low enough for me to jump back in and we went on to quickly win the match. I love it when people team up :D

Finally got the hang of hover capturing today, in the Kasatka on Firestorm. A suprisingly nimble helicopter, you can really throw the thing around. Took C just hovering then sat on the roof at A, got that, then back down to B, got that too. Then got shot by a tank while hovering back at the recently recaptured C.

Ditto, got some points in the Little Bird (3k of them) at Damavand earlier. I think their tank was at B, I still try to move about when hovering though and zoom out so I can more easily see obstacles.

Why is it so hard to find a good tank gunner? When I am in the gun on a tank I'm an engineer and I spot like a crazy man and suppress as much as possible. When the tank takes damage, which happens often because some drivers seem to drive heedlessly into danger, I hop out and repair it right away.

When I'm a driver however, I'm usually alone. If I have a gunner he usually bails because he gets bored sitting on the edge of the battle instead of right in it. Then I'm left to use and fix the tank on my own. A good example was last night on Sharqi Peninsula. As attackers. I got the tank after it respawned and had a gunner with me. We needed to set the second M com so I drove up the side rode because the last thing you should do with a tank is drive into a heavily congested and trafficked area and expose your backside. My gunner was doing okay, but when I backed us out to repair damage we took from an RPG he hopped out instead of staying in and defending the tank. We got down to 5 remaining tickets when I threw caution to the wind and drove the tank right into the fight and it was like Christmas. My team hadn't been able to keep the Mcom set because the enemy were all spawning behind it. With an evil grin on my face I poured rounds into them watching the kills stack up. My tank got rocketed but I stayed in until I was sure the Mcom had blown which means I died but it was a glorious death.

What was the point of my rant again, oh ya. Gunners do your job!

I get tons of assists in the gunner seat. Not passenger but kill as well.
I generally try to keep my gun facing the opposite direction as my driver is facing so we can get as much coverage as possible.
Also an active engineer whilst gunning, tho the last few nights I have been trying to level my other classes some.

I agree with your rant 100%

I hate drivers who will drive face first into a building/ wall whatever and sit in one spot while capin a flag leaving your back wide open and no way to escape. At least park up sideways. Or drivers who park right on the flag.

One of the reasons I like to be the chopper gunner as opposed to the pilot is because I can sit there and spot things like mad. If I'm not shooting at something, I'm sweeping the ground with my select button.

Got a nice 20K point Team Deathmatch. In it I got my 4th avenger medal and the Claymore, MP443 and USAS12 service stars. Also today I got the shotgun medal and the M9 service stars. I'm only one handgun ribbon from the medal and one ribbon away from my 10th combat efficiency medal.

How do you get an M1911?

Is it an unlockable gun?
Or one you got if you pre-ordered or something?

Sat at Firestorm just now with Ren-Tec, trying to get into a Viper to have some fun.
Havoc is circling around, killing me, Mikey, the Viper and the other chopper, as soon as they spawn.
Tried waiting till the Viper spawned back, and ran for it; only to get knocked down before we got the blades spinning at full speed.
Rinse and repeat.

Yawn....

:irked:👍

The greatest pistol in the game... to me but apparently it's not very popular on the interwebs considering I don't even acknowledge the existence of the other sidearms . I got it by being a Battlefield Veteran (previously played a BF game and have an EA account which is synced to the relevant accounts which played the BF games before, it's the account which is used for Battlelog). The alternative way is to become a member of the EA Gun Club, which I have no knowledge of. My 1911 was unlocked as soon as I sorted my Battlelog, so I've no idea how to do it now.

Hey RXP, sorry I didn't come back after I got DC'ed (right after you did). I try to keep all my frustrations at a minimum; so when twice in a row the game spits me right back into a server I just left, disconnects my teammate, locks up my console, and in general gives us teammates that don't know how to attack or defend MCOMs (leaving me with 4 losses to 1 win) I tend to get very irritated.

I have to say, BF3 is a lot better than MW3 and I can't believe I've only recently found this out for myself. The problem is, so many of my friends would rather run around like a headless chicken (MW3, if you didn't already guess) than to strategise and have fun while doing so. MW3 gives a great adrenaline rush, but only if you get a high killstreak (which is hardly ever considering how bad the spawns are). BF3 is a lot better overall - the only time I'd be bored is if I bail out of a chopper into the ocean 300m away from shore. If I do, I can just suicide and respawn at a flag.

Then again, most of the people at my school said, "zomg yu cant be a leet quickscoper in BF though."

Which is a good thing, IMO. You actually need skill for BF3 sniping :irked:
Also, I joined the EA Gun Club when I first got BF3, it should be on a flier in the case when you first got the game.

I couldn't imagine if we didn't have bullet drop and actual projectiles in BF3. It would be a lot less challenging. Bullet drop is great to have, but it's whacked. Bullet drop starts at around 150 yards in-game. The round the SV98 shoots is a lot similar to a .308, and in real life you won't get significant bullet drop until about 200-250 yards with it. And even at 300+ you're not aiming 10 feet above a guy's head to put a hole in him like you are in the game.

And Daniel, I'll probably be able to squad up tomorrow. ;)

I could try - although I'm not sure if the 'rents will be home then. They have a fit if I go on during the weekdays
And it's not really "squadding up" if we're trying to shoot each other :p

Pfft, you can't jump out of a moving helicopter and drop some C4 on a tank while parachuting before landing and detonating it, resulting in a huge explosion that kills 3 enemies, in MW3. :sly:

^ I think I'll make it on for some matches tonight.. havent been on in a while! :) See you tonight if all goes to plan!

I am in the same boat as you, hopefully I'll be online tonight, haven't shoot anybody in BF3 in the last five days, my index finger is itching :-)

Go here and sign up: EA Gun Club. All you have to do is sign up and the next time you log in, the M1911 and two variants should be available for your use.

Other than the smallish magazine capacity, the M1911 is a fantastic pistol and definitely worth the time signing up for the EA Gun Club.

Thanx Vash.

See you lot later then.

I'll be home from work about half 8.....

:irked:👍

If the EU lot are still going to be on soon, I'll be there within the hour most likely or drop me a message if I'm on PSN SEN.

For nobody's attention in particular, the TB P11’s are turning out to be a very satisfactory choice of headphones. Really pleasing game sound clarity and the mic seems to work a charm. The duel volume controls (1 for game sound and 1 for chat sound) I find really nice – the only drawback is the long fiddly cable setup which VEXD described.

Really enjoying Tanks on maps like Firestorm, Kharg and Canals now. I used to shy away from them, but now I have really stepped up my effectiveness with them.

Some guys should just clean stay away from them though. Was at Seine last night struggling – primarily as an enemy tank was roaming around owning infantry; I waited and waited and waited at deploy for our tank, but nothing. Running to B I figured out why – someone had driven it in the drink by the sunked boat and left it there.

Finally got the rest of my primary weapon service stars. I also got the handgun medal. I started using the G17C and it's great, drops a lot of people in close range.
