Does the PS3 version have an official server? I can't seem to find it. I mainly play Team Deathmatch.
 
Some good, but tough matches there Patrick. Thought we might hold onto that Seine one, but let it slip in the last few mins. What where you using in the Metro match - the L86?

On Metro I was using the P90. I think I started out 17-2 and finished 32-9. :p

That's why I asked :). I was trying to unlock stuff for the AEK, and has having an ordinary KD day. Also gave the M249 a re-try but it really just has terrible stopping power compared to the other LMGs.
 
DONE!!! Finally unlocked all the new weapons... that damn EOD bot was about to be the death of me (it certainly was for my soldier, many times). And I gotta say, there is no lemon in the bunch. For their own reasons they all rock in their respective categories.
 
Good to know, I've got them all except for the JNG-90 and M5K because CQ only just came out today, or is coming out today, so I can't do gun master or CQD until tonight. I haven't even touched the MTAR nor LSAT yet but the rest are awesome, the ACW-R is pretty weak but I got my first service star with it probably quicker than I got the one for the M4.

Not yet. Really hope they add a switch in their next patch. Box cutters just aren't cool.

As for the JNG-90, I agree. I'd say it's 'too good', so expect it to be nerfed in next patch. Kratos forbid scouts have any slight advantage in this game over the glorious assault rifles and shotguns, which DICE seems to love so much.
My advice is to enjoy it at it's fullest before it gets handicaped.

Recons have always had a huge advantage, what other class has guns that kill in two hits at close range, one headshot at long range and fire perfectly straight? Seriously, try one of the 10 round mag rifles with a grip, holo and silencer (or laser), easily my favourite setup in the game. You can kill AR and LMG users at close range 8 times out of 10 and can get one shot kills with the same rifle if you step back a little. There are people on the Battlelog forum who bitch and moan that recons are useless, I beg to differ!

I agree. The easiest way to get x number of kills with a sniper is to just run around Metro with one. Although some recon players are useless. You know, "that guy". The one that just camps at the edge of the map sniping people and only place spawn beacons where they want to camp as opposed to putting them somewhere useful.

That is how real Sniper works. They dont run around and try to kill people but this is a game so you can do that.

Yes I know that but they don't do anything for the team. And then there's the games where you get a whole sqaud of them on your team and you end up being destroyed.
 
You know that glitch where you get revived and the respawn menu is on your screen? I used to just pause it then resume to get rid of it. But this last time I did that the game freaked the buckshot out made me quit the game instead of resuming.

I was going 40-15 ish on TDM which almost never happens. I made great progress on the assignments during that round and a stupid glitch that DICE doesn't seem to care about made it all for nothing.

Or when some guy gets out of a nearly wrecked chopper, you repair it and then they jump in and fly off. They're called transport heli's for a reason...

Wow, BF3 really is turning into COD. Just played a game where someone was trying to do a 360 no scope on Metro CQ.

That's the thing, the recon isn't necessarily a sniper and BF3 is too fast-paced for real sniping (i.e. >400m) in my opinion. I have done the whole long range sniping thing but it's so dull and if I play well I can get much better scores, which is why I've spent the most time as recon but have the lowest score with it. Well, maybe not the lowest score, but I have two service stars with everything else but I'm on 98% to my second with recon.

My favourite is when a pilot jumps out because they think they're about to have a fatal accident but the chopper hits the ground and doesn't explode, or even better is when you shoot a pilot out of the chopper, it hits the ground, the guy who was riding along repairing realises and gets in the pilot seat only to get shot out as well. Then you take his kit, repair the chopper, get in and get a load of kills. Then get shot down by a tank almost immediately.
 
I don't have the patience for sniping. I'm all run and gun. Put me in Canals with a shotgun and I'm unstopable. Kharg Island as well. I'm coming around MG's though, starting to get used to them.
 
What do you guys think of the MP5K?

My opinion, It kills so fast and is surprisingly accurate at close to medium range. I just wish it had larger extended mags like the MP7. Still im loving it and close to my second star with it.:)

I'm glad you posted that recon =/= sniper, I've spent most of my time as Recon and I use the bolt actions more for fun then effectiveness but at much closer ranges (sub 200 at least). The DMRs are more effective for 'sniping'ish roles in BF3 and the battle rifles (SKS, M417) are amazing all round weapons for the kit. Not enough Recons spot enough is my main annoyance, if they must sit on a super high vantage point at least spot everything! Similarly not enough Recon players try to cause enough disruption, as a Recon disruption is one of the main jobs by getting in to the heads of the enemy and generally cause havoc (M417 w/ PKA-S (Holo), bipod and suppressor is amazing for just causing the enemy infantry so much trouble from all sorts of ranges).

Did that on rush canals a while ago. Shot the pilot out of his seat and another guy in the Little Bird when it landed. I repaired and went something like 19-1 and was in the chopper until the end of the game. They never made it past the first mcoms.
 
Any tips for ranking up fast, getting a load of XP? I'm Level 32 right now, about to get a few medals (need 28 more Assault Kills). Just want to start prestiging.

Play CQ and drive flag with a jeep or if you have CQC then just run flag to flag. CQC is like 5000points every match.
