Well, unless I can switch that button to up on the D-Pad, I have a problem switching firing modes. Lol. My down button stopped working while I was playing BOII with friends. CoD killing my controller! Doesn't help that I've had that single controller since '08. Lol.

Yeah i hear you on that and same on my last controller. I just had to get a new controller. I couldn't use the bi-pod because when I drifted on GT5 with the controller i rotated the joystick around to be really smooth. As a result my guy would walk forward. And not to mention the random team kills I did with the knife/grenade toward the end because of it about to die.

Now it serves its purpose as my e-brake on my G27 racing setup

Haha nice! Well, since it's the only button giving me trouble right now, I can work through it. I usually get my distance kills with burst shots. But when something else starts going insane, I'll jack one of my brother's controllers since he jacked my copy of Madden 13.
 
My previous controller had that issue with the left stick. I contributed it to all the Battlefield I played, and all the other games that have a ton of walking in them.

Not to mention the word "SELECT" had been rubbed off.
 
Half of the sticker have been rubbed off. That's the only sign on visible wear on my controller as of right now. Amazing to say that I've had this controller for over 5 years and that's the only visible sign of wear.

I still have a buttload of the original Playstation controllers (the ones with the sticks, not the ones without) that work like brand new.
 
Dualshock 3's have a FPCB (the F is for flexible) for the buttons sort of pushed against a normal PCB which houses all the other components, over time as the plastic flexes the FPCB can slide across the area on the PCB it's supposed to stay put on. As a result, the controller will go crazy and do all sorts of stuff you didn't ask it to do; my current one does it (my brother plays Call of Duty with it, go figure) and every single one I've had for any great period of time does it too. Nothing can really be done except maybe try tightening up the screws on the controller. One time I did fix a controller for about a month by taking it apart and putting it back together again, I didn't do anything to it while it was open, so that might work too.

You can tell if that's the problem by holding the controller normally then wringing it like a wet towel. If it acts as if the face buttons, D-pad and top buttons are being pressed, that's the problem. It doesn't affect the analogue sticks or L3/R3. You won't have to wring it hard, either, though it depends on the state of the controller really.

When I was playing TDM with Slash, gogatrs, dhundley, and others earlier, I was using the MTAR with a Holographic sight, Foregrip, and Suppressor. That stinking Holographic sight kept screwing me up; so when I dropped the sight and suppressor and just left the foregrip, I was getting kills left and right with the gun.

I guess what I'm trying to say is, guns don't always need attachments..

When do you guys usually play?

Played a couple of matches with friends from RL... didnt go so well, as Skype made me lag hard. Usually I would make fun of my friends becaise their connection sucked, and now, karma hit me.

We all got seperated (Admin re-arranged us and we couldnt switch back) in Hardcore DOM on Donya Forrest. It was surprisingly funner to shoot at your friends. We were all using shotguns. I used the 870MCS (Slug), then switched to a SPAS-12 (Flechette). We were all rocking the Support class and, well, All Hell Broke Loose!
 
I don't know why you'd be lagging. I use Skype half the time I'm playing Battlefield.

I dont know either... it just started acting up. I hate seeing that orange rounded triangle on the top right of my screen.

Same here. I'll be on (hopefully) when I get back from the beach. HARDCORE AS is really fun. Tod—yesterday, I joined a match and it was full of noobs. It was a turkey shoot. (Which was fun, to some extent)

I can't stand normal. A sniper rifle shouldn't have to hit someone two to three times to kill them.
Normal is just unrealistic to me.


And if you team someone five times in Hardcore you are kicked.

Yes, but there's so many of them the 5tk kick doesn't make much of a difference. Plus they can join straight back anyway.

Sometimes you will still get hitmarkers whilst firing with a sniper rifle in Hardcore :(

@ryanaldoblanco. It depends on the server.. some servers ban you immediately for teamkilling, others ban you after 3 teamkills. Some just kick you becaise that's the standard that DICE has set.

Going back to my "holding someone 'hostage' with a knife" idea. Im going to scratch it because, honestly who is going to care about another teammate in MP? Especially in hardcore.... you try to pull some stunt like that, the enemy team will kill you and their teammate. Then revive their teammate.

I can just imagine. They guy being held hostage accidentally/meant to team killed you earlier. So you are like kill him I'll watch

Thats exactly what happened earlier on in Metro. A medic was killing everyone so I flanked around taking the stairs at B, and sure enough, there he was. Bottom of the stairs with a med. kit. I go to take him down with a knife, only to get shot in the face by a teammate with a BA Bolt from a crossbow. :angry:

But no man I understand that's why the take down its cool and all in BF3. But i will never match my record of 84 dog tags in one round on BC2 with the take down in BF3

Exactly... 84? Hmm... I would try getting that many tonight, but there arent many servers up :( The one thing I hate in BF3, is the fact that you can only do one knife take down at a time. I forgot which Youtube'r shared this info, but it was interesting. Meaning, if one guy is doing a take down, you cannot do one until he has gotten the tags.

I just finished my first hardcore TDM. It was to say, interesting. I was getting a ton of hit markers. I'll link the battlelog when I get on the laptop in a few.

The one thing I hate in BF3, is the fact that you can only do one knife take down at a time. I forgot which Youtube'r shared this info, but it was interesting. Meaning, if one guy is doing a take down, you cannot do one until he has gotten the tags.

Yeah it was around 84 give or take a few. Me and my buddy had a spot on one of the snow maps at B. The other side would get very mad at us. We would take turns doing it.
