WTF is with all the fecking adds on this site?

Right in the middle of the damn threads, key words that can be clicked on for $$ purposes.

This site is already slow enough to load and now it gets even slower. And I'm only talking about a damn message board. You gotta be kidding me. All the other message boards load up in 1 or 2 seconds, this place takes over 10 seconds just to get a page man, what a joke.

Yeah, I know it's off topic here, but I just saw another one in small fryz post, what a *****.
 
Yes I see them also on occasion! ..... right in the middle of threads over someones post ... but my firewall blocks them and all I see is big grey boxes :ill:

not loads of them! ... but every so often they get in the way and I have to scroll up and down on the page until it disappears.

If you're not logged in, you'll get more ads than if you are.

And the reason this forum takes a little longer than most others to load is that we have anywhere from 10x-100x as many members as most other forums. It's easy to run a free board with a couple hundred members. Try it with over 75,000 members, when the monthly bandwidth is measured in terabytes. Not exactly inexpensive.

Gran Turismo Replay Theater doesn't work with Firefox. I don't use the Microsoft browser anymore so you may want to figure something else out like hosting them here where the races are taking place. If I want to go back and DL runs from BC2, 3 or 4 they can be found at the sites that hosted the Challenge.

Same. I tested GTRT on FireFox 1.0.3 (FR) and for all I tested it worked well. If you have any doubt on how it works or if something doesn't work, please tell me! ;)
 
Still, the fact remains that all replays have been available for download from the host site, usually in the results thread... I don't see why this can't be accomplished here... especially since GTP has an upload feature, and it doesn't have to be the mod/admin collecting url's and hot linking them....

I agree, plus it would save people time from registering at GTRT if they didn't intend to.

Most people seem to be doing that out of habit anyway. So yes, please attach your replays in the RESULTS thread for each round.
 
Replay submittal updated. Sorry for the last-minute changes, guys, but hey, it's all working out.

Please attach all replays for each Round to the appropriate Round Results thread once they are posted. This will keep the replays and results together and will hopefully be the easiest method of publishing them. Thanks for your cooperation.
 
Juste a suggestion :

You should keep update the first post with replay in it, so we don't need to scroll around to found the apropriate replay.
 
That is currently beign addressed beru, I've decided I should help with that since it was parlty my doing. (The quick format change)...

I have 9 of 14 so far, will get them to duke ASAP and get the other five later, as they come in.

As i was driving with pleasur on my Round, i was thinking the penality rules are maybe not to fair for the long race. I think that's alright to keep it realistic and give a chance for small touch or off, but in same time, as we promote 100% clean lap, i think we should give a priority to those perfect lap. I think if two laps are super thight and the fastest one got one off or touch and the second one is perfect. The perfect one should win.

So i know it's a little late on that one, but i think we should remembre that for futur BC and goes like that for the penalty.

2 or less Offs or Touches: 0.5 second total penalty
3 Offs or Touches: 1.0 second total penalty
4 Offs or Touches: 2.0 second total penalty
5 Offs or Touches: 3.0 second total penalty
6 Offs or Touches: 4.0 second total penalty
7 or more Offs or Touches: DQ

About uploading replay on GTRT

PLEASE, dont use special caracters such as " or # or whatever it could be. PLEASE use only "normal" caracters. This includes a to z, A to Z, 0 to 9 and underscore (_).

Each time someones upload a replay with special caracter, the generated link may be mistaken (file not found). So I have to manually rename or even delete the file itself and the entry in the DB. Please rename your replay, it's a question of seconds.

I don't have the knowledge to filter every single caracter. :nervous:

Oué j'ai le cerveau qui pense continuellement. Un pti défaut quand je roule, dé fois je perd un peu la concentration. :sly:
 
Clarified the "alternate replay" rule to indicate that alternate replays must be submitted by the original deadline.
 
Wouldn't it be enough to just require the alternate TIMES to be submitted by the deadline? Requiring the replays themselves BEFORE the deadline rules out the chance on anyone using the snail mail submission method from taking advantage of the alternate run provision.
