The thing I can't fathom is that for the total cost of a good quality rig, good steering wheel and pedals, good monitor set up (3 seems to be common) and a subscription to iRacing as well as maybe buying a few cars and tracks, you could have just gone out, bought an old roadworthy MX-5/Miata for £600 and gone to a trackday. Admittedly, I'm basing my theory off of the most expensive possible options for sim racing and the absolute cheapest possible car you could get on to a track and have fun with, but still, why anyone would spend that much to emulate track driving when they could just go out and do it is beyond me.
