monteiro does need a seat next year. he has done a great job this year.
I second that. It wouldn't surprise me if Minardi (excuse me, Red Bull 2) pick him up, unless his contract extends to next year with Jordan/Midland. The Red Bull farm team would be a great place for him to go; give him experience in what will probably become a semi-competitive car with funding from Red Bull. Hopefully Liuzzi won't get the seat on that team, he's been completely useless this season, and just took seat time away from a much more deserving Klien, who has been driving fairly well, with some flashes of excellence earlier in the season.

JV showed a little form today which i hope helps him get a BMW seat next year. he was matching times with the mclarens before his pit.

i still think the man knows how to run. he just needs to be running with shoes on instead of flip-flops.

Sato locks his brakes before La Source and goes into the Ferrari of MS. A mistake, yes but easy to make on a damp track when you are fighting for positions. Pizzonia is a bit faster than Montoya and wants to unlap himself but is not very careful while he should be and Pizzonia hits Montoya and they're both out of the race. Now Sato gets a 10-place penalty on the grid in Brazil and Pizzonia doesn't. Where is the logic in all this?

How is there no footage of the accident between Montoya and Pizzonia? There should be an onboard recording from Pizzonia's POV.

Pretty good race. Well done Kimi, JPM, Alonso, Button. All drove good races, each doing what thjey needed to do. It really is a shame that JPM was taken out by Pizzonia (probably).

Red Bull wont pick him up, they have 4 drivers who they think fit the job as an F1 driver already (DC, Klien, Liuzzi and Speed)

We need to support Monteiro in his quest for a seat next season!!

Maybe a front running team will give him some experience as a test driver, or possibly he could nab a seat at BMW or somin.

Well, Pizzonia's now been fined for "crashing into" Montoya. Anyone else think this is a bit suspect since Sato gets a 10 place drop, or is this just because Pizzonia won't get back in the car this year?

I wonder what evidence was used to apportion blame in the Pizzonia/Montoya incident? (Telemetry, driver's account etc)

Michael didn´t speak with Sato, but he called Sato a "harakiri pilot" in a TV interview after the crash.

German and Japanese love at its best...

Editage: I have only just noticed that all 8 drivers in the points drive for different teams.... cool lol

can someone give villeneuve a little props for showin' up today?

i know everyone likes to **** on JV, but i like the guy and was
glad to see him up with the front of the pack even if it was only
for the period before his pit.

i like seeing the former champ up there matching times with the
front runners. he still managed to finish well in the points despite
making the wrong decision on tires.

LMAO. 👍

That's funny. Michael probably just said something like, "What were you thinking!" etc.

I laughed when Mike swiped the air at Sato. Taku looked like a schoolboy anticipating some corporal punishment.

Yeah, that was hilarious.

Props to Tiago for getting a well deserved point for Jordan. 👍 He showed maturity, and relatively decent pace. It will be interesting to see how the rest of the season plays for Tiago. I'm really hoping he can finish every GP.

I think it's great when race reporters/commentators and drivers get along. That's the case of Spanish TV with Alonso, predictably enough. But there's also a good relationship between a Spanish TV commentator and Monteiro. After the race he usually gives a short interview and you can see he's at ease with this guy. Anyway, after the race they were congratulating him on his race and everything, and he said he actually enjoyed racing on wet tarmac and that the team at one point suggested he change to dry tires and he decided against it. That shows a bit of maturity from his part.

Anyhow, what I didn't like about the race is that once again Alonso got the race handed to him. It's happened before, and although I'm partly rooting for him, it bothers me that he's getting points and winning not because he's oh so good, but because of other driver's negligence. Of course, on Spanish TV he's the world champion since his second win, so every time another driver makes a mistake, it's because of Alonso's pressure. Like Pizzonia's mistake was because of Alonso... hey' there's a concept, let's blame all of Kimi's misfortune on him, he he.

yeah, okay, Pizzonia was feeling Alonso's pressure... despite being, what, 6-7 positions down on Alonso. Thats a good call, This Spanish media, I mean, i understand patriotism but i dont think the Australian media would be going this nuts if Webber was having such a good year, then again that wont happen

Americans aren't even going to give a crap when Speed takes a seat.

I'm sick of Alonso and his voodoo caterpillar eyebrows.

I know people who would give their mother to have those eyebrows... sadly, they're all bald and they'd be combing their eyebrows upwards.

Did i hear correctly on TV? Are Williams going with Bridgestone's next year and are they gonna be powered by Cosworth or BMW?

yes on both accounts....

Very interesting race ( I can't remember any boring race at Francorchamps anyway )

Button: great passing
Momteiro: smart racing, I hope he'll get a seat next year.
Ralph: too bad his tires misjudgement ruins his efforts.
Even Jacques Villeneuve forgot about complaining and concentrated on good racing
Poor Montoya, he for sure didn't deserve what happened to him.

Sato : lol

It's funny that no one has mentioned the fact that Tiago put Trulli out of the race. :p ... But I guess we can ignore that given he finished in the points ;)

EDIT: I also found this great quote:

"I don't wish anything bad on him," the Briton (Ron Dennis) said, "but Fernando could slip over in the bath."

I heard that they were outragously low on fuel for quali and had to refuel after like 4 laps...

Yeah the minardi's was really far back so they must've pitted xtremly early. Shame really, they're always at the back maybe they should fill the car to the brim and go race for a longer stretch than the other teams and see what happens they got nothing to lose....

next season should be interesting with Red Bull taking over minardi and jordan being changed to midland, hopfully those two teams next season will start battling with the middle tier teams.

all i have to say is its total bullcrap sato getting a penalty for that. i was extreamly mad when i first heard that. ms needs a penalty for slaping him!
