Best Acceleration For Impreza

Hi. I've recently won a Subaru Impreza Rally Car -99..

I wan't to get it accelerating like lightning..

Can any one help with settings?

In my opinion it already accelerates like lightning so what are you going for? A top speed run at the Test Course? Rally driving? Road/circuit racing? In each of these scenarios you'll want to tune your car differently, especially the gearing. Anyways, what are you trying to accomplish other than "going fast like lightning".

Metinks Frozen knows that. He requested it.

But really, only gearing can make up for power. My Fiat 500F hits 5mph instantly.

I know Frozen knows it - I was letting everyone else know about it, for information.

Only gearing can make up for power? You can't be telling me that centre differentials, axle differentials and suspension are all irrelevant for acceleration?

Yes I know that about gearing and r5 tires.. already tried it.

Yes I sent a request to the MadFinnTuners and they're working on it

If you want acceleration, i'd look into getting that one Group B Peogueot (sp?) rally car (The Peogueot (sp) T16 or something), i remember racing that thing for the "Hard" difficulty Capri race in my Impreza, and my god, that thing is lighting :scared:

(ot)Lightning it is, as long as you can keep it under control. Gr.B cars are the most fierce and scary cars to drive. Pug is definitely one of the best on gravel, but for tarmac, Ford RS200 would be my pick.(/ot)

Anyways, the Subie is ready, running on R3's and tops out around 150mph+. Acceleration is good and Autumn ring was blasted in 1'15.585. I'll start typing the settings now and PM them to you.👍

edit:PM'd ;)

But if you aren't spinning the tires, tuning for extra grip can be a moot point. Gearing a car for maximum launch power while not hitting the rev limiter by the end of the track is key. If it spins the tires when geared that way, attempt to add more traction. If that fails, set the first gear ratio taller in increments (taller=numerically lower) until it either no longer spins the tires or you run out of room. This may cause 2nd to be too short, so split it between your new first and existing third accordingly. Once out of first gear adjustment room, attempt launching with only SLIGHTLY less throttle (just a visible hair below full on the gauge). If wheelspin still happens, try letting the lights come down, then floor it. If it does not spin the tires from that, launch like normal with approx. 3/4 throttle. The instant the stop dropping, nail it and go. Be ready for the next gear, it's gonna come quick.

My drag tuning. I use a bit of ballast in the trunk when all else fails.

I believe DE knows this just as well as the rest on 300mph club members.. after all, he did START that club of lunatics! Even I was there, just to learn what was needed to push GT-R beyond 300mph. but then, straight lines and smooth bends of the Test Course started boring me and now i'm all about grip in the corners ;)

Thank you, Leo, I do indeed know all about not hitting rev limiters and having the right amount of grip at the right time ;)
Although, compared to the real fast boys, that's about all I know

Green Flag probably did, but JayDom seems to not like reading anything short of the first post, and even then not all of it.
