best first car to buy

i know this has been asked a million times but whats the best first car to buy under 18,000 ? and why ?

Save your money. You can recieve a free car by collecting all gold cups on your license test for license B.   If you do this you will get a mazda miata for free.  Then you can use your money to upgrade this car.

I agree.the miata rocks to be a low hp car.I still like the sprinter toyota though.

I bought the Beetle 2.0 since it was cheaper than the Miata, and you can pretty much win the first couple races with it stock.  After tuning it you can win quite a few more of those amateur races before needing to upgrade cars.  Plus it felt like it had better overall handling than the Miata I previously tried, but maybe because I didn't tune that Miata correctly.
