what is the best grand theft auto????

GTA3 : better athmosphere + a LOT of great memories. GTA3 had a huge impact on my (gaming) life. It was a revolution!
 
Vice City... just cos it's bigger than 3... 3 was amazing... then again they've all been amazing (Except 2 which I didn't like!)

I liked GTA III because I love the gray atmosphere. Also, it was GTA's largest revolution, they finally came out of 2D and into D3.

Don't get me wrong, I really enjoyed Vice City, but I like GTA III better.
 
Yeah D3 was great! :lol:

I enjoyed both as much, I actually change my mind now:

1. GTA: San Andreas. (I haven't played it, but I know I'll never stop playing!)
2. GTA III
2. GTA: Vice City
4. GTA 2
5. GTA 1
6. GTA: London 1969
 
These forums will completly die for a week or two when SA comes out, we'll all be playing it! Then after a few weeks maybe one or two people might venture back here to post some stories or question etc.:lol:
 
I say it will take one month before people start posting regularly (Except for me, I will, I know I will).
 
GTA was awesome. All i can say is GURANGA!!!!! :lol: all you "old skewl" GTA players know what i'm talkin about.

Plus the old skewl ones had all kinds of mods. Made it hella fun.

Just wait untill I get broadband or a weekend with the net, I'll download the first one (legally) and I'll know what you're talking about. It and london are the only ones I don't have:grumpy:
 
I'm back playing GTA3 because I've played Vice City to death. I do love both games, but Vice City definitely has the edge.

Things better about Vice City:
Motorbikes.
Helicopters.
Shooting out car tyres.
Sniping people in cars.
Indoor areas like the airport, Malibu Club, shopping mall etc.
A better variety of cars.
A better variety of weapons.
The 80s theme was really cool.
Far better music on the radio.
Tommy Vercetti was a better character than Fido, who was a bit of a nonentity.

Things better about GTA III:
More interesting city design.
Much more challenging rampages.
More dangerous gangs - only the army in Vice City give you a hard time.

I really miss not having motorbikes in Liberty City. Oh the fun you could have. I'd love to have Vice City on PC so I could download the Liberty City mod.

I missed the AK47 on GTA III. Also like the design, layout and darkness of Liberty City. There are alot more advantages for Vice City, but I'm really getting into GTA III lately, and I've played the pants off both games. I've said it before, but if GTA III had the extra features of Vice City, it'd be a monster game.
 
I get sick of the gangs on GTAIII, so I just downloaded the gang respect mod so they don't shoot at me :D
 
Except the triads....I like how the gangs hang around in groups on Vice City though, but I wish the also walked around by themselves. A mix of both is best.
 
Yeah. I think the Triads are fine. They were all done more "Gang-like", than Vice City. Vice City focused too much on the groups thing, I think.
