The Mira is the lightest and the most powerful.

The Alto Works is by far the best with upgrades. You can get it up to 238 HP with a Stage 3 Turbo, which is 55 HP more than the other two. You can also buy a VCD and put 90% of the power to the rear wheels, making it the best handling lightweight car.

The Mini is the only one that's actually pretty cool, though.

I think the Alto Works has the distinction of the worst turbo lag in the game if you put a Stage 3 on it. You hit the accelerator and it takes a full 4 seconds before the wheels start to move. It can get up to 170 MPH, though.

Buy the "Sports" muffler instead of the race one. It gives you 238 hp, and gets rid of the lag. Strange, but true.

The reason that does that is becuase of back pressure. Its like taking the baffle of your dirtbike or quad (obnoxious comment removed by moderator). the bigger muffler has less back pressure making it for more top end and less bottom end. and vice versa for the sports.

BTW if you want lag, try fitting the VW Beetle 2.0 with it's Sports ROM... Staggeringly this not only reduces horsepower, but makes the power curve inaccessible below 3000rpm...!

I saw that too. I've never noticed the turbo lag though. Me & my cousin were laughing that an upgrade would actually take away horsepower. Talk about a rip-off! Maybe that's the performance shop's way of making you come back to buy something else.

That's funny, I bought the ROM upgrade early on, and it increased power. Me thinks I'm going to take another look at this though....the Pro FF races await me.

I haven't actually done the Kei races yet; but since the Alto Works is the most powerful, I'll give it a shot. Although, the tought of winning that Mini doesn't seem so bad.

I can't remember what car I saw this happen on but I have seen it. If Famine says that it happened on the Beetle, I'll believe him. Now that I have money, I never drive the thing anymore so I don't remember.
