What do you guys think the best looking standard car is in terms of graphics? If I had to say I would say the Caterham Seven Fireblade.

Lancia Delta S4

Or the Alpine A110

Alot of them for me, under a smoke screen (also the X1) start to get a real low quality rear. When I drift a standard rx-7 and im covered in smoke my lights are just squares through the smoke but in pictures an older silvia is good looking. the best one while racing in my opinion is the Veyron, Minolota Toyota, or the Toyota gt1.

Prowler is nice in cockpit view. I race this for all 500PP events. I Also like the Caterham, and the FGT, even though it is just the steering wheel you see in that.

I was surprised by how well defined the Audi S4 looked. The only thing that ruined the effect was the fuzzy numberplate. Granted, a lot of the jaggies have been masked by my choice of paint, but the entire front end has serious definition for a standard.

A lot of the standard 3000GT's look really good but I think the main thing that makes the standards look like complete crap is the jaggedness on the windows or the racecars with liveries that are all smeared from being stretched or upconverted

Yes , most standards just need the jaggies to be cleaned up and they will look very nice. The thing is that's not a texture its an actual shaded polygon on the window's * the transparent part the non transparent part also has a texture and that to is jagged* and transparent polygons so PD would have to rework it.

Wow, that is nice.

I think there's more of a placebo effect recently, rather than "proof" that PD have actually gone back over the standards cars. If they had made improvements they would be much more noticeable, and there would likely be some form of notification of what had been changed. As mentioned before, the right paint job can mask most of the jaggies, add a new set of rims and the focus is then drawn to the overall look of the car, rather than "ooh, look at the state of the shut-lines on that door!" I haven't checked recently, but I seem to remember the SL600's interior had the guy up to his neck in what looked like foam.

Anyway, back to the good stuff,,

The Audi R8 LMS also looks good,,, but could look better.

Looks much better like this though,,

The only thing I've done with this is overlay three pictures of the exact same shot using 3 different filters from the photo mode from the replay. No other manipulation was needed to achieve this.

Well my opinion is if standards actually had there chrome * not the grey white and black fake chrome* such as the LMS R8 they would look allot better! the current chrome they have does not reflect light since ts a texture hat looks like its reflecting something but its really not.
P.S. is there a photo thread for the best looking standards , if not start one!
