That movie was awesome.
Aldman did a great job, and so did Hopkins.

👍 to them for a great job on a great movie.
👍
Yeah it's a fantastic film. Isn't it Garu Oldman though not Aldman (I'm being picky).

Pretty bad for a picky fella. ;)

I have no clue about the last name, but I do know it's gary. :D

And yes it is a very, very good movie.

Also, I think kill bill was a bit over rated.
The only thing I liked about that movie was the hottie, lucy lu. (sp?)

She was great.
The rest of the film was only ok to me.
And then, with all the cliches about time and story lines, I was really let down.

Sure, pulp fiction was awesome, but you don't need to make cliches out of everything that worked for that film.

Yes, kill bill was cool, but it was way over done with wanna be anime & chinese film cliches.

I liked it, but not that much.

btw, the animated scene was awesome in that movie. 👍

edit: also want to mention that the movie seemed to me like tarentino had just taken time away from films to get interested in the orient. :D
You know, china, japan and the surrounding areas.

I guess I felt like that because of my background with anime.
(more than likely)
...
Later. :D

It's impossible to pick one, because whether you like a movie will depend upon your mood at the time, and what you're looking for.

For example, if you are down, and want a pick-me-up, you're better off with The Wedding Singer than you are with Saving Private Ryan, even though the latter is definitely more worthy of being considered a great movie.

You can tackle it another way, and look for consensus. We did this recently as a group of 5, and took an hour to agree. Eventually we settled on Ocean's Eleven

So, that said, here's a selection of my favourite moves. I've tried to keep one per genre...

Terminator 2 (still remains the best blend of live action and CG stunts)
Bring it On (comedy + cheerleaders = good!)
The Usual Suspects (so intriguing)
Saving Private Ryan (in my opinion, the best war movie ever. Really)
Ocean's Eleven (three hours of pure style, and a great heist)

As Giles said, your favourite movie really depends on what kind of a mood you when you watched it. Trying to think of some that stood out for me, purely from the point of view of a well made film:

Midnight Express
A Simple Plan
Schindler's List
Saving Private Ryan
Papillion
Rain Man
East of Eden
Goodfella's
Once were warriors
Billy Elliot
Rocket Boys
Run Lola Run
Chocolat
Forrest Gump
Philadelphia
A Few Good Men
Awakenings
Dead Poet's Society
The Sixth Sense

I can't remember any more.

The Usual Suspects.

Greatest movie of all time in my eyes... I was like.."Wow!! This guy (character palyed by Kevin Spacey) is good!"

I might be a bit bias.. because I love a movies with a twist.. not too many twists though (like Minority Report, Basic, etc)... The movie drags alot, but the twist in the end... makes it worth it...

Terminator 2
Aliens
Full metal Jacket
Not a film but the first series of 24
The usual suspects
Naughty college girls 3...... Oooops, didn't mean to put that in there :p.

Yep, it's Carmella De'whooo hooo.

:) I've noticed that a lot of people said pulp fiction. Greatest film I've ever seen!!! If you havent seen it watch it! The acting is soooo perfect. John Travolta and Samuel Jackson kick ****in ass! All the scenes are classic. I love it when they're driving Marvin in the back seat and Vincent Vega turns around, with his gun on the seat, to ask his 'oppinion' and accidentally blows off his head. Did you notice that you can see little bits of brain in Jules hair? Anyway thats the best scene. Not really cuz all da scenes are good, but its still classic! Quentin Tarentino is the coolest director. See kill bill one and two if you liked pulp fiction not as good but still kick ass!!!

i agree with the 'movie mood depending on ur mood' idea but a great movie is one that can match a lot of moods. Like Forest Gump, thats sad, happy, scary, exciting, intriguing....Its one of those movies that make you feel so inspired after. You feel like youve been thru a war of emotion, I cried like three times. Thats a record, except for 'to kill a mocking bird' i cried so hard in that movie!!! Its good. God good good adaptation of the book.
Oh yeah that reminds me, 'adaptation' is a good film too. Weird but good. Im surprised i got it the first time. Spike Jonze ( director) is awesome. He makes music videos too and he worked with the jackass guys for 'jack ass the movie'. He also made an incredible skate video called 'yeah right' which was ****ing kick ass.

Another good director, Spike Lee. Incredible! Summer of Sam was so cool. Not his greatest I'm sure but I need to see more of his films!!!

p.s. in kill bill vol. 2, when she makes her way out of the grave (impossible but cool) and she walks out of the graveyard across the street to that coffe shop to get some cofee ( i cant remember what she wants but i think its cofee), that was classic!!! LOL.

I saw Pulp Fiction for the first time just a few days back...how in the blue hell is it such a good movie? The acting was top notch and it had it's interesting points every now and then but that was about as far as it went.

Pulp fiction is a kick ass film. Not in my top 5 but it's a great film.
