Snatch & Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels both have excellent soundtracks.

All sorts of great tracks in there, from James Brown to The Stranglers to Klint and The Herbaliser, not to mention Massive Attack's Angel.

Otherwise a great song from a soundtrack is Get A Bloomin' Move On (Self Preservation Society) from the end of the original Italian Job 👍

Forest Gump all the way, great music throughout the whole movie. They even got the right song to play the most appropriate times. Gotta love the Hendrix too...

LASERBLAST! Hahahahahaha.

You honestly can't beat Star Wars... I'm sorry, but John Williams is just amazing.

Sting
...and I agree with you Anderton on the Rock score. I have it on my computer and it's excellant music. (another Hans Zimmer masterpeice)

I am wondering how much of the The Rock soundtrack can be directly attributed to Zimmer. I know he got alot of help from Gregson-Williams (who did the score for Metal Gear Solid 2).

Also, the soundtrack for 'In the Mood for Love' is stellar. And the 'crouching tiger, hidden dragon' score has some good moments as well.

This thread has reminded me how much I really enjoy movie scores.

Nick Glennie-Smith was involved in The Rock's soundtrack too.

Please... a pigeon walking across the keys of a electronic keyboard could write better tunes.

Yeah, that's pretty much true. He did great work in Jaws, too.

yeah, you're right. I was thinking of Philip Glass, but he didn't have anything to do with the Dracula soundtrack. He has however done the soundtrack for Naqoyqatsi and Kundun, both of which I have no idea about.

Yea Philip Glass is quite good. Truman show is a good example of his work.

There's a lot of good stuff on Star Wars (the princess's theme probably being the best), but it can be beaten. Williams is great, don't get me wrong. Indiana Jones 👍, Jurassic Park, 👍 Sabriana, 👍 and loads of other stuff. But Dracula (by Kilar) was a better soundtrack. As was Braveheart and Gladiator, possibly even Batman Begins. Star Wars is up there, and if I were to start a GTPlanet top 100 soundtracks I'm sure it would do well. But it isn't tops in my mind.

Some of the Gladiator music is very relaxing imo.

My favourite two movie soundtracks are American Beauty and Gladiator. The piano piece used on American Beauty is awesome and really adds to the film in my opinion. Gladiator's soundtrack is very emotional.

the chick side of me says " City of Angels " & " Armagedon " & " Titanic" The guy part of me says Happy Gilmore and Billy Madison!!

I think it's brave of you to admit that you're a hermaphrodite.

The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou is the best. I listen to it frequently, I can't say that for any other movie soundtrack. Can't beat David Bowie. 👍 The orchestral numbers are also absolutely fantastic!

Right now I'm listening to the Battlestar Galactica - Season One soundtrack (the new show on SciFi, not the old one). It's an up and down soundtrack with two outstanding tracks that put me in a trance every time they come up. Yes I know it's a TV show and so technically it doesn't belong in this thread, but if you watch the show, you know it's practically a weekly movie anyway.

Everyone should check out "Passacaglia" and "The Shape of Things to Come" on the season one soundtrack. Fantastic stuff.
